In both your pictures your hands are tied. Why is that?

Thanks for asking!

Thats the position Ive been forced in to by former T. He is stalking me, has destroyed everything dear to me, and is now blackmailing me. I have submitted to him completely in the hope I can get some kind of a life back. There is nothing else I can do. My hands are tied...

Art - it's an even-numbered year, so your Giants will probably win the World Series.

Money, well lack of, is depressing. I pay for therapy completely out of pocket, and the thought of not being able to see my T, makes me beyond sad.

(((Purple dog))) I pay completely out of pocket too - it's definitely a struggle sometimes and a factor in my taking breaks from time to time. I hope you're able to work something out, maybe your t can do a sliding scale for you?
Thanks for this!

Thanks, I may have to ask. I think I'm afraid she'll tell me I don't need to see her, and that scares the sh** out of me!

Oh, the joys of home ownership. A couple of tiles fell off the wall in my son's bathroom, and as we pulled a few more off to see what was going on we found mold. Yikes!! I am staying calm so far, as H and I are starting to research mold remediation companies in our area. It seems to be confined to a fairly small area, but we're going to have them take out all the tiles just to be sure. We pulled a couple tiles off in other areas around the shower and it looks dry and ok. But the area under the window - it's bad. If they can't come very soon I think we need to get some sheets of plastic and tape it over the exposed area. We've already bagged up and taken to the trash the tiles we pulled off so far. Has anybody else dealt with mold in your house? I feel like I'm on the edge of freaking out over this because I know that black mold especially can be really toxic. But I am remaining calm and telling myself we just have to deal with it, it's only money after all, and our health is way more important than what it's gonna cost to fix it. But still, eek.

Oh, ugh, Art. So sorry. I wish I knew good advice for this. It's good that you're looking for a professional to handle it.

Hubby pulled a few more tiles off, and found that the greenboard or whatever that stuff is that goes in bathrooms instead of drywall, wasn't even screwed to the studs, it was nailed in, and the nails were rusty, ick. Codes must have been different when it was done. I think it was original to the house. And it's all obviously wet. It's right under the window, this area, so we wonder if the hard rains we've had this summer did it - like something with the window wasn't sealed properly or something. I went and bought a roll of plastic sheeting and some tape and we're sealing off the room until we can get someone here.

Art, I wish I had some good advice too, I've found every time we start a project, or are forced to do one, it always gets bigger than you expect! But, in the end, it always works out ok.

Last night I tried to locate a confirmation for a conference that started today and I could find...nothing. Yikes. Searched all my email accounts, sent an email to the event planner. Decided to just show up and beg for accommodation. Turns out that there was a problem with the online registration company. Whew.

So I get here and get checked in to the hotel, sitting there with my service dog, chilling before the start. And I hear someone at the door (double occupancy was included in registration) and turn to say hi to my roommate for the next few days and she is like "what are you doing here?" I asked if she was attending the same conference and she said yes. But she had requested a private room and is allergic to dogs. Down to the registration desk we go and the event planner is in a panic because not only is the main hotel full but also all of the overflow hotels in the area. I was cool about it, told her that I didn't mind staying a ways away because I had my car. I went up to pack my stuff up and while I was up there, she called and had a cancellation. So I not only got a room at the hotel, but a private one. How cool is that.

Meanwhile, as I was driving to the conference I got a text from H saying that our youngest (22 yrs old) was on her way to the emergency room in Colorado (she lives in Iowa). Sounded like probably burst appendix. So there I was driving in the opposite direction from Colorado, waiting for news. Turns out it was a burst ovarian cyst. Painful but not dangerous. And H is flying to Denver as I type to drive her and her truck home.

What a day! I think I am glad it is almost over.

And! Why is it that super expensive hotels do not provide free breakfast when all the cheap chains do? All I would want is a bowl of cereal. Definitely not into paying $15 for bacon and eggs in the restaurant.
