I just made a delicious garlic butter/cream cheese spread for a rare roast beef on baguette sandwich. It is tasty. I made 3 small tasting ones (different spreads) to see which I am going to take to superbowl party today. I am also smoking some meat to take.

I don't think there is just one answer to this depending upon the person and their values, beliefs etc. Sometimes it seems to me, it is enough to just have more good days than bad. My person's is not curable but they are treating it for quality of life. That can be the bigger quality of life picture or the smaller one. Enduring the treatments thus far has allowed my person to still work, do some things she enjoys, travel for work and vacation overseas, etc. even though she has also been very sick and endured painful miserable side effects, is always physically exhausted and so on. A weighing of benefits I would say.

I bought some new colored pencils (Prismacolor) because the ones I had bought last time aren't very vibrant at all and they kinda bore me. I didn't intend to buy them yesterday, I was intending to buy only a sketch pad, but when I found them for $10 off I went ahead and got them too. They are much brighter than the cheaper ones I had bought last time! I forgot to buy a ruler, though dang it. I'm sure there are several around the house, I just need to look...

How sweet! I took son out to breakfast at IHOP this morning. H worked nights the past 2, and didn't get home til 5:30 am so it was just son and I. It was nice. In honor of pancake day, I had the strawberry cheesecake pancakes. Yum! They're doing unlimited pancakes right now they said, but we didn't opt for that.

This year National Pancake Day is March 7 (IHOP). International Pancake Day (= Shrove Tuesday) is Feb. 28. I have no idea when Universal Pancake Day is.

Oh, well, as far as I'm concerned every day is pancake day.

I took my young nieces to IHOP this morning, one got pancakes, my other niece and I got french toast. For whatever reason, I do NOT like pancakes! We had no idea that it was national pancake day. My admin at work always sends emails out letting us know what special day it is, similar to how today is National Pancake day...

of course everything on facebook is true! It's the gospel of facebook!

(at least, it seems a whole lot of people out there think that is the case, seeing all the absolute bullhockey that gets shared around so much!)

Speaking of Facebook...
I think I know what made my T, her H, and two other people from their practice show up in my suggested friends on Facebook recently (not-so-careful snooping from a month ago). But, um, I was just skimming through suggested friends on there, and one of them is my gynecologist?!? No friends in common. I was technically in the same medical building as her office yesterday for a work thing, but I didn't check in on Facebook. Is Facebook spying on me?

I put some mayo on my portabello gardenburger on an onion hamburger bun, and i thought THAT was pretty darn fancy. With a side of pineapple. :laughingatmyself:

H and son sat down at the kitchen table together and are talking about money and son's budget. There has been a little bit of arguing so far. Son can take care of himself with his Dad, how about that. Why did I think he couldn't? I just make things worse when I interfere, most of the time.

I am staying out of it. Their relationship is between them. I do not have to step in and try to "fix" anything. I need to let them work it out. (This I am telling myself as I type it.)

For once, I really hope this is my confirmation bias at work -- this past week, I've counted at least half a dozen Confederate flags (on cars, outside houses etc) on my regular routes.

And, this in an area where I've barely seen a handful in the last few years all put together.

Things are getting weird it seems.

No you're not. You just have good boundaries. You choose when and where to spend your compassion. And when you do, it is in large amounts and sustained over many months.

Your kindness is not scattered to the winds, but planted in ordered rows on the best land. And what a harvest it yields!

(Ack! Ack! Ack!)

I am sick, I am hardly ever sick. I am not totally sick just flu-y with a sore throat and lethargic. I am trying to entertain myself but I can't be bothered surfing the net and I keep dozing off plus I accidentally deleted my favourite game and the App Store won't let me reinstall it because I owe the $1.99

People are saying stuff at work that would normally get anyone socially shunned for life. That is a new development that is spooky to me.
