At least somebody stood up to him this time. With some teeth. Maybe.

I won't bore people with too much politics but I had a few strange moments this week. One while I was watching funny YouTube stuff. I watched a parody song of the alt right by a liberal comedian associated with cartoon network's adult swim. Then my feed on YouTube suggested another video. Equally funny. Turns out this second video was not a parody but the real thing. I'm at a point where I can't tell the difference.
The other scenario was a lady at work saying things that were funny only because they were so un PC and these things were said in a meeting in a formal setting. I couldn't tell if she was being ironic or was seriously racist. Weird times. |

Oh yeah. Im sooooo glad im not at work. Im so glad i live where i do.
The other day on the city bus, i ran into a neighbor about my age who has autism. She was heading to a protest march downtown, and she goes, "did you vote for trump?" It only took her 30 years to remember my name, i guess it will take another while to remember more about me! |

Unrelated to politics,
I was in the kitchen doing a task that H said he would do but he half-a s s e d it-as usual. So I was standing on a chair to reach inside a high cabinet and nearly fell off the chair which resulted in me scratching up both my legs and knees and also hurting my wrist as to break the fall. You think the man would have come to see what the banging was as he was just in the next room. But no. He didn't even come in and I knew he had to hear the banging. A 1/2 hour later he walks in the kitchen to get some breakfast and says Oh, you emptied the rest of the cabinet. Oblivious. He's f**king oblivious. Last year I fell down the basement stairs and fractured my ribs. I was in pain for 5 weeks. 2 days after that fall happened he bear hugged me. Like, dude are you that stupid. Last night he messed up my hair after I spent more than average time blowing it out. He just does these little things sometimes that irk me to my core. Okay, stupid rant over. Sorry. Resume with normal programming. |

idiosyncrasies get annoying. Example: I was doing the dishes and had a sponge filled with soap and water. He comes in a grabs my arm (in a playful way) and waves it around thus making soap and water go everywhere from the sponge. He's just annoying at times. Now as I'm typing this he's sitting on the couch with me but watching a movie I'm not interested in and he's saying to himself "My Jersey, I love her". And he's saying it genuinely not sarcastically. So, I'm now feeling like a b I t c h for complaining about these small things. |

Morning couchies. My son had 3 friends spend the night last night, and it was SO good to hear him laughing so much. I realized that hasn't been a sound we've heard in awhile, he's so busy between work and school and just not here a lot, and now that he's told me he's been feeling so angry and feels so f'd up in his head that he asked to see a t... well it seems like she's already helped him in just the first session and it did my heart good to hear him laughing with his friends last night.
In other news I feel an argument brewing with h. I have my W2 and he has his 1099 for 2016 but I haven't yet rec'd whatever the form is called that they send out for the HSA, last year when we did our taxes we didn't realize there would be a separate form sent for that so we went ahead and did our taxes early and then in like March I think it was we got the statement for the HSA and the amount was slightly different than what was on my W2. H said don't worry about it, it's so insignificant we don't need to amend our taxes, but of course you guys are all familiar with how I worry - this year I feel like I am ready to do battle that we need to wait for the proper form. He wants to do taxes today and get them done so we can get our money sooner. I want to wait for the proper form for the HSA. Well, the one point in his favor is that we use Turbo Tax and pay for the audit defense, so if we by chance got audited they would help with that, h says that we make so little money that there's like zero chance the government would bother spending money to audit us, but of course in my mind, it's a fear. I did talk to t yesterday about how for me worry=catastrophizing like when I worry about something, I don't even bother starting at A I go immediately to Z where I guess "normal" worry would start at A, and then progress through B, C, D..... but not me. I start at Z.... Does anybody have an HSA (Health Savings Account) through their work that the company contributes to and do you wait for the form? Or do you use the amount on your W2? Just curious. They put in less than $500 in 2016. |

Miss Jean Brodie was right: the Girl Scouts are a little group of fascisti. At this time of year they are to be found outside grocery stores, waylaying the innocent and demanding they purchase their wares.

Can you increase your withholdings with the store for next year? That way, you won't need to wait for a refund but instead, (may potentially have to) pay taxes when the time comes?

They offer an electronic w2 but I couldn't sign up for.it..i.missed the deadline. I would have gotten it a lot faster that way. I live in one state and work in another...so I have to pay to file 2 states even though I don't get income in one. I also am on disability

I find I have no trouble ignoring and traversing the girl scout sales. It probably helps that I dislike the cookies and am not especially keen on children either.

The withholdings basically determine how much is held back in taxes from your paycheck each period. The more the withholdings, the less that is held back from the paycheck but potentially the more you have to pay up at tax time. It's basically the difference between letting the IRS have your money over the year (which would be interest-free) and then giving you a refund vs. your having the money over the year (which could collect interest) and then paying the IRS at tax time. I'll stop giving any additional suggestions right about here (my tax knowledge ends at this point) but yeah, check them out if you can. |

I think they are too waxy.
And although that implies there may be an acceptable waxiness level in chocolate mint cookies - if such is true - it is not to be found in the cookies plied by girl scouts

One of the scouts was bossily telling the others how to make a sale: "take the money, make change, give them the box."

Does it help to think of it as a charitable donation? Towards, you know, making girls stronger or introducing them to the business world or some such?

Yes - I don't mind donating to them - but they seem confused if I hand them money but refuse cookies. If I was going to be in an area where I knew I would see some homeless guy I guess I could take them and see about foisting the cookies off on him. But usually the cookie sale and the homeless guys are not near enough to each other to make it something I am going to actually do.

Now I am often impressed with the detached ones on the side who say to their friend "good god, how hard is it to just take the money, make change, give them the box. We are surrounded by morons" But the ones bossing the other ones around annoy the bejeesus out of me
