I wasn't taking it as criticism. But as something else entirely. Through no wish of my own, he and I seem to get involved in a game of one-upsmanship whenever I mention anything about antiquity.

I fully support. That's why I was largely absent from the couch this week. I'm sorry if I've triggered at all. I hope you take the time you need

Would you prefer that no one knew what you were talking about?

My basic spring lament - rain means bonky dogs, electricity going out, and more grass cutting needs. In my area - all this spring rain will be followed by a drought and water rationing talk for lawn mowing.

Ah - I don't read his posts as one upmanship - thus I misunderstood.

It's similar here as well, SD. We're in the middle of a spring thunderstorm currently, but thankfully we haven't lost power yet.

It was nothing specific anyone individual said but the PETA discussion threw me I think they are a ludicrous organisation with good intentions , I think, but they rely on sensationalism and misinformation in some of their campaigns.

So no one beat themselves up about things as they are my reactions to innocent remarks and I think I need to consider these by myself

No, I don't think there's anything wrong with expressing when you're feeling triggered or upset by something here. I just wanted to assure you that you need to do what's best for you.

Don't take my beating myself up personally. I've had a really bad day/week.
Thanks for this!

I don't mind peta - but I do understand they are not everyone's cup of tea. If it helps - I don't usually feel like the response of others is in my control thus I do not beat myself up for such.

The publicity industry is extraordinarily competitive and sadly lacking in new ideas. Therefore sensationalism and misinformation are the order of the day. And of course this only aggravates to the cynicism and short attention span of the audience, so advertisers have to be even more sensational and misleading. And so on round the loop.

What they'll do when the audience stops listening altogether is anyone's guess. Break into our homes, I suspect.
