I look up almost everything I don't know unless it appears to be pop culture singers/actors(which I just don't care about at all). I particularly like looking words up in the dictionary. But I will use yahoo as well. I just don't report back here with my information. I don't know about CE - but I enjoy it.

The people who make fun of my exaggerated startle response and try to startle me on purpose (yes, it always works, how endlessly amusing is that) can go gag on a pinecone and then once they've choked that down, a sock.

But here I'm drawing on my high school German and my knowledge of Edward I.

In an effort to keep me from doing the things I want to do right now, I'll tell the couch about my cat problems.

Within the last week or two, one of our cats, Hermes, has made his command post the middle cushion on our couch. He'll dig his claws in if you try to move him, jump back up immediately if either H or I move, etc. He only gets up to use the litter box, eat, drink, or chirp at birds sitting on the patio.

I figured I'd get him off of the couch by giving him an alternative bed. When I was cleaning today I vacuumed out one of the old cat beds and sprayed it with this catnip spray we have.

Before I could put couch cat in the bed, the other cat, Crescent, claimed it as her own. Hermes has tried to sniff at the bed, but Crescent hisses at him if he gets too close.

She hasn't moved in hours.

Edward I, huh. I prefer King Ethelred the Unready, if only for onomastic reasons.

I'm timing you. Google on!

I have been listening to some mysteries by Martin Jensen about an illuminator who goes around solving mysteries set in early England - King Cnut era. Kind of fun

Another factoid I learned today: Antarctica has three bars.

I wonder if they are all hookup places?

Evening, couch.

Well, I worked, drove back to my town, stopped to eat, and came home. Now I am caught up on the couch and posting.

I still need to do my assignment. Geeze, talk about procrastination. I also still need to clean, badly. I am so lazy.

It just hit me that I still need to take my evening meds, I forgot to take my morning meds this morning, so I really can't not take the evening ones. Better go grab a can of Vanilla Coke from the fridge, so I have something to help me swallow them.

OK I hate this. Today I was talking to my T and then paused and asked him a question and he said he didnt hear anything after 'it will be bad.." just a lot of whispering ang and mumbling. I was certain I was talking to him as I could her my voice outside my head. Very strange. Does anyone else do this?

There's a few US research bases, that's where they are, plus Aussie bases too.

Hey BCM - is Douglas Mawson still a big deal in Australia?

I walked past our pagan festival in the park I live near and thought about Art. There was a drum circle. I hope she is doing well.

Besides being the name of our Antarctic base I don't believe many people would know who was. My kids certaintly werent taught about him, but they weren't taught about a lot of our explorers and early history.

I think they were vacationing in Vegas this weekend, and she was looking forward to it.

Art - hope you are enjoying yourself!

The most interesting thing in my local park is cricket matches.

June and August are the festing season in my park - there is usually some sort of fest going on every weekend.
Some are relatively pathetic fests.

Peculiar fest names around here: Okra Strut, Chitlin Strut, Crawfish Festival, Poultry Festival, Peanut Party, etc. Maybe we have some non-food related ones, too.
