Squirrel, your landlady, ugh! She should be supplying you with a receipt every time you pay rent.

You can also buy a book of receipts and make her fill it out to your satisfaction before you pay her. I always write on the bottom right of my check what the payment is for: " June 2017 rent." That way she can't return and claim your previous check or payment was applied to back rent, or some other nonsense.

The owners of the manufactured home "village" where I'm living now have always been honest (as far as I can tell) but where I lived before in Barstow, California, owners tried to scam tenants all the time.

I know of one instance- my friend lived next to the owner where he rented...we found out the owner had illegally tapped into my friend's electricity...and my friend had been paying for both for a long time..

I am still trying to write an In Session post about yesterday but it is such an arduous process. I desperately want to express myself and keep a record of everything that went on, but remembering it, and putting it in the right order, and finding the right words... is very hard.

So I'm just going to get this out.

When I questioned T, again, about the inherent contradiction between his statements "I won't leave you unless I die or am otherwise incapacitated" and "if I felt that this wasn't working I would refer you to someone else", he at least did not respond by calling me a child and then telling me he was irritated. Hooray! Instead, he...

- Tried to debate with me about the semantics of the word 'leave', suggesting that to refer me on would not be 'leaving' me. After some back and forth on this, I argued that if he were to try to refer me on, and I said "no, please don't, I want to keep seeing you", he would most definitely be 'leaving me'. Either he accepted that or he got bored of this discussion. So then, he...

- Got all philosophical and relativist, suggesting that there is no objective truth here (or in fact - anywhere - "unless someone says that killing people is okay or something" ) and so we are both right and both wrong. We debated this for a while too. All very fun. And finally...

- He conceded that he was wrong to tell me that he wouldn't leave me unless he died, because I'm not a person who responds well to reassurance. So close... and yet still trying to make it all about me.

So, yeah. I might just join a debate club or something instead.

Hmm. Good choice. I like my beans lukewarm.

I dunno what liking the word 'beans' has to do with having aspergers. Is that on the diagnostic criteria?

It is a good word, anyway. Do you enjoy the singular, or only the plural?

You don't actually have proper baked beans in the US, do you? That must be hard.

No beans on toast...

It's the obsession with the random word that makes him think that

I never understood why you Brits liked beans with breakfast.

They are NOT a breakfast food.

Your American beans are not the same. Heinz baked beans come in tomato sauce and are absolutely an essential part of a full English breakfast.

*crosses arms defiantly*

You guys have pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast! And... Streaky bacon! An insult to bacon's good name.

Wait beans in tomato sauce? I mean that doesn't sound bad but it doesn't sound good for breakfast.

Don't hate on pancakes either. Pancakes are God's breakfast.

Yes. Our baked beans are different to yours. They are excellent.

You must move to my city and we will start a psychotherapy-themed cross-stitch club and I will feed you baked beans on toast. With cheese.

And maybe you can make me pancakes.
Thanks for this!

I've been amused by the word, 'salmon,' since reading Calvin & Hobbs.

JD, you can come too. You may not want to eat the beans but at least we can talk about them a lot and you will enjoy it.

I am in a weird mood this evening.

Done. I get to crash on your couch until I find a flat of my own, yes?

See, I'm practicing. I called it a flat.

And of course you can. My sofa is comfy, and not made of cactus.
