I have a "t" folder in my email and have all of them going back to 2012 (I didn't get her email address until she was just about to move away after the first year, otherwise there'd be more.) I can't bear to part with them.

Coffee and matchsticks please, Couch? Been setting up a laptop for seven hours, with no end in sight. Fun in the extreme.

Whew

I updated the OS on my seven year old laptop for the first time ever a couple months ago. That was rough going.

I did everything within my power to avoid my PC updating to Windows 10. Thankfully I managed it, but it was surprisingly hard. I'm still scared to update my OS at all...

What do you do when you're so depressed nothing seems appealing? It's barely 10 am here and I can't face another day of this nothingness.

I'm having a good day. I got more done today than I did during the past 2 weeks.

Being a normal human being must be great...

10 isn't so scary...much faster than previous OSes, but obviously if you use older software, there's the compatibility thing.

I tried it out on my laptop first and hated it. It's designed for touchscreens, not for PCs, and they just changed a bunch of stuff that didn't need to be changed. 8 was even worse. I like Windows 7.

My PC (her name is Persephone, I built her!) is fast enough anyway. She's fine how she is!

As an interested furriner, can I just make a broad cultural observation (devoid of any claim to evidence and like the best of these things, entirely based on my narrow personal experience) that these sorts of contradictions are totally part of how stuff works in the uhh.....South?

Case in point being all the good folks I see around here driving Nissans and Toyotas and Hondas with..........Confederate stickers / flags displayed along with (in case you missed the display) some additional stuff declaring their membership in organizations such as the Sons of the Confederacy and the like?

I will admit I'm a complete d-bag who has two sets of principles for these things -- if I see the display on a GM, Ford or Chevy, I am as respectful of them as I am of other drivers. If I see it on a furrin car, I am a total arsehole and after ascertaining who is driving (it's usually super young looking people) I refuse to let them pass and do other d-bag-y things.

I'm all for staunchly held beliefs, no matter how abhorrent. But, I shan't abide hypocrisy.
Thanks for this!
