I do, from a lower back injury last year... it can be caused by a destabilized pelvis in addition to spinal stuff, and if that's the case, there are a lot of strengthening hip exercises that can help alleviate the symptoms and take the pressure off the nerve. But the key is knowing the cause so that you don't inadvertently do more damage. The thing that helps me more than anything else is to religiously take stretching breaks when driving longer than an hour.

My friend took me out for Sichuan food today. I-can't-breathe level of spicy. Hurts so good.

Thanks... I'm thinking maybe all the overtime at work plus all the studying, maybe I'm just sitting too much.... and I got a new desk chair a couple weeks ago.... aha..... I will add in more standing up stretch breaks that might help. Thanks!!

Why have you named yourself after something you hate?

PS: Does the "luco" in "lucozade" have something to do with wolves, as in lycanthropy?

My mother told me once that it used to be called Glucozade. For the sugar I assume.

I know, ridiculous eh?

It was because T drinks it... and at the time I joined here, that was basically the only thing I knew about him, all that I had to cling on to. Pathetic.

I never planned on making myself so at home here. If I'd known I was going to do that I'd have picked a better name.

But I do like being called 'Luc' and 'Luco'! I am pretty attached to those names now.
Thanks for this!

Yeah, I think it must be from 'glucose'. Though I never considered it before tbh!

I think that's perfectly reasonable. Why bother with a cure?

Quick Couch poll (I promise I will stop spamming about my rental issues very very soon): I found a lovely (okay, lovelier than the previous selection) place with a ton of light and good stuff.

Except -- big except -- it's a place that's being rented out by an owner-person (as opposed to a management company).

I have an absolute dread (without any experience actually) of dealing with actual people as landlords as opposed to impersonal office managers who are employees for a rental management company and who really couldn't care less about the tenants and would just do (or not do) what needs to be done and call it a day?

She seems incredibly nice and funny and reasonable and kind and so on. And, she doesn't live there. And, yet I dread....I dunno what.

I'm trying to figure out how much of this is entirely my (no-doubt) craziness vs. there really is something to be said for dealing with impersonal office people vs. owner-persons?

I would think that as long as you sign a good lease that you should be okay. Remember that the lease is designed to protect both landlord and tenant.

Good question, Luc. First instinct leads me here. R says she 'doesn't want to save' me, but there have been moments of protectiveness...

Info complained I wasn't "giving her a fair shot" because I didn't tell her something. I snapped at her that we didn't yet have the kind of relationship where she could complain about that, plus if she had complaints about that she could blame Smaug inter alia [=among others, as we do not speak Latin on this site].

She took that well. And then she suggested I take dance lessons, I told her I was taking ballet classes soon, she said if there was a recital she would come to it.

Ugh. No.

Yeah a ballet recital seems right up Info's alley. I'm glad that she took your criticism well, ATAT.

I think you should go for the place that gives you good energy (in other words, the one with a ton of light). Just work out with her if you can pay rent through paypal or the bank. For me, that was the only awkward part of owner landlords (trying to get them the rent), and I actually prefer them to companies or agency landlords. If she seems reasonable and nice, then she probably is. Go for it
