Couch 191: The Lazy Caterer Couch

H is going to be pissed! We we're supposed to get $1.6k from taxes... Because my H owes social security, they took it all.

Good news, we have two house showings tomorrow. Fingers crossed that we get an offer...maybe even a bidding war?

The little one (kitty) used my face as a springboard this morning while I was in bed, and now I have a nice scratch from my mouth to my chin.

But that's why I like it! haha. I never read the actual story.


They didn't meet horrible fates in the Wilder version though, he assures Charlie at the end that each of the other kids would be back to their normal rotten selves or whatever.


Maybe I should read the story.

It’s a really good book. It’s set up so you can ignore the creepy if you prefer to.

Definitely read it and James and the Giant Peach - the book is much much better than the movie. I remember laughing out loud while reading that one.

The BFG is my favorite.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach and BFG were absolutely delightful to read aloud to my boys. The next one we tried (The Twits?) was a horrible disappointment, and I don't think we read any more Dahl together after trying that one.

Oh wait, I just looked. We also read Fantastic Mr Fox, which they liked and I thought was okay.

I really enjoyed The Witches.

Ive mostly read adult Dahl. Like The Man from the South, which was a Hitchcock episode (or one step beyond) with Steve McQueen and Peter Lorre. And the earwig story, thats not the name of it tho, with laurence harvey. Just macabre.

How is mini stressed doing today?

Thanks, Cake. I've been doing a fair bit of processing this week, but I'm on the fence about sharing part of it.

We were on track to go back to school today but a sudden attack stopped us in our tracks. I hope she's feeling better now that the vomiting is over. One more day at home, I guess.

Starting the am off with pouring rain. Blah. Better than mounds of snow though I guess

Matilda can definitely be a trigger but as a kid I adored 5he idea that children could be smarter than adults.

hugs Lemoncake. i don't know how one would abandon a t. but i wouldn't be too surprised to receive a similar missive from Leticia. today is 4 weeks since i saw her last. except i know she won't because then i might respond again and heaven knows she wouldn't want that. ok Artie frickin get over it already. haha.

In my opinion, a client cannot abandon a therapist and any suggestion by a therapist that such a thing can happen, is blatant manipulation.

So.. I had a nickname for T (actually by the time we finished I had 3 for him LOL) and it was really special to me. It's related to a fictional character. So at one point I even draw a picture for him about it... I had a shirt with the character on it and he thought it was the funniest thing. He happily kept the drawing on his desk too....

Nearly all my emails to him were addressed this way. I wanted nothing to do with it when he left. I was about to sell my shirt. Now I just "won" a stuffed version of it online and I'm unsure how I feel. Part of me is dreading it and thinking I'll have to donate it but part of me is wondering it if may actual provide some comfort.

Who knows, maybe someday in the future I can even show him it. He would love that I think

Thanks, I am pretty distressed about it from a financial standpoint, but I'll just have to find some other way to pay for therapy.
