I can access the couch again, yay!

Morning all. Hugs/headnods all around.

I can't believe these stupid shingles are still hanging on. Grr.

Possible trigger:

My mom arrives this coming tuesday for a week, for my son's formal graduation.

I have usually just taken stitches out on my own when I have had them. At this point the steri strips are probably not doing anything but if it concerns you - why not just get some no stick bandaid/pad things and put those on?

Steri-strips are designed to start peeling off. It's okay for them to come off at this point. You can probably peel them off yourself at this point, particularly if they are itching or catching on things. We generally pull them off my husband once they start peeling because they catch on his clothing and bother him. It's really okay. You aren't going to burst open at this point. My husband's incisions are usually 4 or 5 inches long; not a problem.

Hi Couchies. I'm struggling with another migraine today.
Possible trigger:
I see T on Saturday so I can talk to her about it then, assuming I don't relapse. It's getting to be a pretty hard struggle. I'm not sure T is up for the task of really helping me with it. She tries though. I have to give her that. I'm pretty stressed though, which is not helping. HUGS to anyone who wants one. KIt

I read something the other day about some gene that won't allow you to absorb folic acid and it causes migraines. There's some sort of test for it, maybe MTHFR from a quick google search. Sorry I don't know the details and you're probably already aware of this. I'm sorry you're suffering from them so often.

Can you give what you normally use to someone?

Talk it through here.

Do you have any red paint? felt tips you can use ?

rubber bands as a last resort?

I sent an email to my therapist with what I posted here yesterday. I'm incredibly anxious about our session this afternoon.

Yes it's MTHFR--I'm actually about to do a test on my D for that and some other genes (I know COMT and DAO are a couple--I know have mutations in those, from a test I did a while back) that affect nutrient absorption and methylation. (As in, the test is out for delivery right now.) MTHFR is a common one in kids on the spectrum. You have to use a different form of folic acid to be able to absorb it--maybe follinic acid? I think a different form of B12 as well.

Otherwise, I've been told that vitamin D can affect migraines. Supplementing with magnesium and riboflavin (a B vitamin) can be helpful, too.

I hope it will go well and it will help him connect with you

I think the "what am I supposed to do with this" is just pure clumsy. It's all linked in the end.

Maybe there was a reason he said that. I don't know if he even remembers that session since it was so long ago. I think it was our 7th meeting so we were just breaking the ice at that point. After I left, I pondered it for a while and the only thing I could come up with for why he said that is that he might be required to report it to the police or something. I'm pretty sure he couldn't have, but that's what I latched onto at the time and I freaked out about it and sent him an email saying that's not what I intended to happen when I told him what happened and that I had just wanted to talk about it. No response. I'm hoping he remembers something of that session and can offer some insight into what he was thinking that day. I just remember feeling like I wasn't supposed to tell him what happened.

Yesterday’s “normal” restaurant with the gf item (pancakes)...had a GI reaction (even una won’t want to know the details) so that one’s out. Boo.

I made a few mistakes—among them not putting on my apron so my black shirt now has flour on it—but the machine is doing its thing.
