I have slept all but about 8 of the last 48 hours. I will be so glad when this crud works its way out of my head.

"Trader Joe’s Almond Butter Cocoa Bars—which we’re affectionately calling ABC Bars for short—are sweet, salty, and sure to satisfy. They’re pocket-sized squares of oat-and-rice-flour-based, chocolatey dough (made with real cocoa and a dash of almond butter), sweetened with fig paste and filled with almond butter. I was just there but I don’t usually look in the sweets section. I will.

Their broccoli kale and their cauliflower pizza crusts are gf and good.

I'm one of those stupid students who sent my professor an email yesterday telling her I might be looking at hospitalization (again) soon. I don't know if it'll happen, but I'm worried about it happening after last week with the pdoc. So I wanted to let her know just in case even though I told her I know I'll still get docked points if anything is late. I'm regretting sending it now and haven't even read her reply. Nice and relevant to discussing anxiety and mood disorders in class.

I feel like ****. I want to ask for an extra session tomorrow but that seems excessive. He's probably sick of me.

@NP_Complete - you're allowed to need as much support as you need. You're in a supremely uncomfortable spot at the moment. If it's not too late, I hope you will reach out. Your T would want you to.

I met with t yesterday to talk about our issues. It didn’t really change the way I have been feeling about him or my therapy.

I am just stuck in this position that I am clinging to t because of what he represents to me and how it used to feel in therapy. And now, where there is this block between the two of us.

If you needed to see T 5 times a week that would be okay. I'm a firm believer of you needing as much support as you need. Yes someone might only go every month but they're not you.

I hope you can ask T for what you need,

What has he said about his part in this?

Do you think you could be ready to try someone new or take a longer break from him?

I don't think it's stupid. I think it's best to be upfront if you can. Sometimes they can make small adjustments that do help.

So far, not having any regrets about taking break from T. Honestly, my main regret is not doing it sooner--I could have saved myself a lot of distress (and money--the other T's I'm trying are all cheaper, even with T giving me a reduced rate). Phone consult with K2 at 10:15 today, meeting with M tomorrow, and think I may be able to see K1 (the consulting T) on Thursday. And lunch with a friend Friday.

I just want to get my foot in the door early on possible therapist nicknames.

K2 is a very very very bad mountain. More deadly than Everest, percentage-wise. Harder to climb. Wasn’t conquered till after Everest. Site of possibly the greatest single-person feat in Himalayan history: The Miracle Belay

So, if there’s a chance the nickname might become self-fulfilling, avoid using K2.

Good point! Didn't realize it was deadlier than Everest (that's the one that gets all the movies and stuff).
I'm now also torn on how to refer to the T I just left. Does he become "ex-T" and the T formerly known as "ex-T" become "ex-ex-T"? I don't talk about her that much, so might just go with that. (I suppose I could do "Ex-Dr. T" but that's a pain to type...)

I would just keep Dr. T and use the past tense.

There really needs to be a how-to for therapist monikers.

Nope I openly admit I know nothing in medicine. I saw you tell Susannah the first rule.

But yep you had hugged SD on a post.

Dreaming of me again?

If I end up going with the T I see tomorrow, he also works as an art therapist, so he could be AT for Art T. He also mentions loving cats in his profile, so Cat T (CT?) is another option...Don't know enough about the woman I'm talking to in a half hour (just her Psychology Today profile--doesn't have a website listed, whereas I was able to find CT's professional website and his LinkedIn page (which includes a cat in his profile photo...it's quite unique.

CAT? ACT?

Also, I don't think any of the ones I'm interviewing (including the one who's not available till next month) are PhDs, so they can't insist I call them Dr. T. Well, I suppose they could, but... Bonus: they're also cheaper as a result of no PhD.

Yes I agree. Dr T makes it less confusing. K1 the consulting- what does the other K remind you of?

I never knew of the K2 mountain.

@@ It took me ages to realize that at one point you had two T's which alternated.

I saw R today. He emailed in the morning saying he had a slot at 10.40am today and commented having no fixed session seemed to be working better for me.

[Woo alert] I seem to be seeing a lot of sequential numbers today - 11:11, 12:34 and just now 3:21...indication that I'm doing something right? [/Woo alert]

Phone consult with potential K T was quite awkward, partly because she was driving. But she confirmed that she's psychoanalytically/psychodynamically trained, though also incorporates a bit of CBT and mindfulness to help with coping in present. Gonna set up session with her and see how she is in person. I was open in saying that I am interviewing other T's, too, and she was fine with that. I'll see how things go with her and can come up with a nickname as needed (not enough on her Psychology Today profile to go by).
