i feel you, granite, it's hard not seeing my son too. well i 'saw' him on Easter, we did a zoom meeting with my family members all signing on from our various houses including my son and his gf. it kinda made me miss him more seeing his face on my screen and not being able to give him a hug.

I miss having baseball on in the background this time of year, while I read or work, so I put YouTube on my Roku and am watching an old game from September 2011.

What's funny (and slightly awkward) is that at the end of session, I said I had a request for him. (I was going to ask if I could be the one to leave the meeting first.) Dr. T: "You want me to grow my beard out again?" Me: "No, but I do sort of like it more unkempt. It makes you seem less pulled together." Dr. T: "You prefer me more disheveled looking?" Me: "Well, I mean, I'm more disheveled looking right now, so, yeah, makes it feel more even." He did agree to let me leave meeting first.

Maybe I should try watching old football games? At least if it doesn't come back in the fall. I've heard they're considering NFL with empty stadiums, which would be better than nothing. Could still do fantasy football!

Do you think baseball will be played at all this year? If no fans, seems like it would be one of the less risky sports. They're kinda socially distanced on the field anyway, aside from catcher and if someone is on base.

MLB is supposedly discussing starting the season at AZ spring training facilities plus Chase Field since they’re all around Phoenix. They’d closet the players and team staffs in hotels and keep them in a bubble. No fans.

But if a lot of transmitters have no symptoms, is anything safe? Get even one infected but asymptomatic person in that bubble and it could be a disaster.

Plus side, no Joe Buck—although apparently a porn site offered him a job to do commentary on their camera shows.

ETA: I had to do a grocery run this morning and I’m pleased to say even mid-pandemic Nabisco keeps producing new Oreo flavors—tiramusu in this case.

T1 postponed our session today because something with his dog. So we rescheduled for tomorrow. I'm holding off on scheduling anything with any of the Ts I've been talking to until I know exactly what's going on with my insurance. I might just stick with T1 and T2 depending.

Started doing a painting this morning since I didn't have my session. I need time alone to finish it.

All of my male students now have beards in various stages of shag.
And coconut pineapple ice cream that I got while I was out today, was surprisingly tasty

My H is growing his beard out longer, too. He's talking about taking clippers to his hair though (I offered to cut it, he was like, "I have clippers!").

Now my CPS caseworker is talking opening a case for me to do "in home" therapy like my son since they're supposedly trauma informed. It would be my son's therapist decision if she thinks I would benefit from it, and CPS would agree to it. Either that or my therapist and my son's would have to constantly be in touch with each other. I really feel like I don't have any say or privacy in my therapy now. I already shared my thoughts on it, but of that's what they say to do, I'll do it.

Huh. Mine are managing to stay clean shaven, except the guy who already had a soul patch.

I’m reading a book on the Spanish flu (the second, more deadly wave in late summer 1918) and here’s how minor league baseball dealt with it.

Sports, esp baseball, were quite a different thing a hundred years ago - they werent played by multi-millionaires. Young whippersnappers with wives and kids and penthouses. Read some Ring Lardner Jr. I loooooove him.

No Joe Buck?! There IS a god!!

Tiramisu Oreos? Get thee behind me, calories!

I dislike joe buck as well but I grew up with my mother listening to his father.

Baseball comes up a lot in court:
King v. Burris, 588 F. Supp. 1152 (D. Colo. 1984) :: Justia
"But this is not just a case about damages; this case is about baseball! Even the Supreme Court of the United States cannot restrain itself when confronted with mankind's noblest achievements on "Hoboken's Elysian Fields."[1] I think it too much to expect a mere tyro on the district bench to cleave to the issues in the face of that august example."

On this day, Supreme Court upholds baseball’s antitrust exemption - National Constitution Center

Oh the fun we lawyers have

I have started building a brick oven outside for pizza and bread. A small one.

That's great. I hope it works out well. Did you buy plans or are you designing it yourself?

This baseball game I chose pretty much randomly on YouTube, not knowing the outcome or the length, is going into extra innings. It's just like real baseball!

I've been watching reruns of my team winning the World Series and even though I know the outcome - I'm still having heart palpitations.

Oh - and a world with no Joe Buck commentary - priceless

I'm struggling so much. Dealing with H trying to buy a car. Dad wanting to know our bills. H and dad trying to do math together. Sister wanting attention. Worrying about L. T telling me not to contact L between sessions. Needing L more. Just everything is **** right now

Hugs, Scarlet... Can you just tell H he can't buy a car right now? And with L, I think it's up to her to decide how much between-session contact is OK, not T.

hugs scarlet. i'm so sorry you're struggling, i'm struggling too, coincidentally my h started talking yesterday about buying another car and selling mine i'm like whaaa.... dude.... why? i literally go nowhere. my puddle-jumper-beater-car is perfectly fine for a trip to the store or in case I have to go a dr appointment or something and most importantly is 100% paid for. I'm worrying about L still as I haven't heard from her in 2 weeks so I don't know if she's still sick or worse, feel like i can't email her to find out cuz of how 2 weeks ago she said she'd stay in touch; and i have that CT scan next week i'm worrying myself over, and work is a mess right now too with them changing so many things at the worst possible time to make changes. i'm coming undone over here all the way around and it ain't pretty.

My dad and I are trying to convince him not to. But he convinced me to go test drive the car he wants and we wound up at the dealership for 4.5 hours... I can't take this kind of stress.

I guess I'll contact L. She'd probably want me to contact her instead of acting on my thoughts. I just really don't want to upset her.

I'm surprised car dealerships are open. Buying a new car doesn't seem essential at this moment in time.

Car repairs at dealerships are. I saw a tv ad today. I guess if your car broke down, and you wanted a new one, a sales dealership would be essential. You wouldnt want to be forced into a repair. And you want to retain access to transportation. Losing that would really make people feel impotent.
