What an amazing day so far. After lunch at some point we're going to break up into groups of 2 and practice tending a dream for our partner. I'm not quite sure I'm up for it but I'm going to try. We had the option to decline but... heck, we're all here to learn and we're all human so I'm gonna do it. Maybe getting out of myself a little bit will be helpful. Now I gotta figure out what dream to bring....

Still angry at that d@mned bariatric surgeon for not repairing my hiatal hernia during my surgery. Having pain today after eating canned chicken-- seasoned only with salt--because of it. How much blander can you get? Also had problems Thursday from a protein shake.

Hugs, I'm sorry. It would have made sense for them to do the repair while in there anyway...

Every bariatric group I've been part of has had people have their hiatal hernia's repaired during surgery. I'm sorry that yours didn't.

I had bariatric surgery but didn't have a hernia.

We're done for the day, was an enjoyable afternoon as well. It did me good to get out of my head today. Tonight I'll be attempting something he called "dream incubation". Looking forward to the 4 hours tomorrow morning.

So my state is opening up COVID vaccinations on Tuesday to people with any of the conditions that the CDC lists as being at higher risk (both of the lists they have). I was able to secure an appointment for Tuesday. But there was also a statement when they announced the opening that they could make some changes to eligibility. I really hope they keep qualifications the same--and I'm currently eligible in a couple bordering states. But I feel like I'm going to be obsessively checking the news between now and Tuesday to see if they change eligibility. I'm fully expecting our governor to announce at 8 am Tuesday morning that I'm not eligible... Like "haha, we're allowing every single qualifier except yours, because we can" (no, I'm not a smoker, though I was one in the past--not that I'm at all judging smokers for qualifying, plus they're in the first list). So I'm this mix of anxious and excited and other things... It sucks that it's Saturday night, and I can't talk to T until Monday...

I may delete this in a bit, as I feel really anxious...

Can i get some help with this arranging my D 18th with this woman i hardly know. I want to do most if mot all the arranging through texts because of my bad memory, auditory proceesing disorder and i cant talk on phones. Will this seem rude? I have absolutely no idea when it comes to interacting with another human. Should i explain this in a text. I really have problems asking for help. I know of 4 of her friends but i know she has other friends that i havent met and i was thinking of getting this person to ask my D friend for their names and addresses. As thats the only thing i can think to do.

My anxiety is definitely from the asking for help problem. All i can hear now is my exT saying what would happen if you stopped struggling and asked for help. I didnt have an answer then but i think its because i would feel indebted to that person.

I have been watching season 3 of The Sinner. I liked the firsttwoseasons because the protagonist criminals were sympathetic and their actions understandable in a trauma context.

But the guy this season, ick. He has trauma of some kind (not yet clear what) but he’s a first class manipulator and gaslighter, not sympathetic at all. Reminds me of 2ex. And Bill Pullman keeps falling for it just like I did.

Daffy, I think it would be perfectly reasonable to ask to make arrangements by text. Not rude at all. I prefer to arrange things by text also because then we can communicate at our convenience instead of finding a jointly available time, and all of the details are right there for me to access when I need them. Maybe email for longer things like the contact information for the guests?

We just went on a family day trip and ate in a restaurant for the first time in over a year. We went to the park and the giant bookstore and got donuts and went to the big Asian grocery too. Best thing: No one rushed me at the bookstore. It was a good day.

Nah, nobody talks on the phone anymore. I cant tell if hes being a jerk to be mean to you (what my family would do), or because he doesnt know how to support you (also my family). I guess its all kinda the same thing. Either somebody is on your side and they try to make life easier for you, or they bite you on the butt every chance they get.

Im reading the book The Irishman, about the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, or the mob in the 1960's. I lived thru it but i was pretty young. Its the movie comedian Sebastian Maniscalco was in, with Robert DeNiro, and Al Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa. I cant wait to see the movie, but i cannot picture Al as Jimmy. He was round and fat and red and had a high voice, IIRC. Basically the un-Al!

I think under the circumstances it is perfectly fine to text or email, but I actually prefer a phone call versus thousands of texts. It is NOT, in my opinion, wrong or rude or whatever if you want to use text. I personally find it inefficient a lot of the time. I would rather call someone than pick a time over text for example, or if there is going to be a lot of back and forth. What I am getting at is - you might try texting but the recipient might decide to call you anyway. It would have, in my opinion, nothing to do with rudeness or anything on either side - just that there are different reasons for doing different things. And none of it would have to do with either way being wrong or rude.
I just don't like to text that much.

I’m prefer an initial phone call at least, and then we can follow up via email or text. For something like planning, seems like email would be better simply because texts could become involved. I hate long, involved text messages.

I prefer texting/email to phone calls for pretty much everything, because I think so much better in typing/writing than I do speaking. Also, because I spent a lot of my adult working years in call centers talking on the phone to mean people I tend to shy away from the phone now.

Daff, with my hearing I’d prefer email to phone. But I would have all information ready on your end and be VERY clear—otherwise the cycle of emails or texts would become confusing.

And I’d rather email than text because text is such an intentionally short format. Things get lost or misunderstood easily.

Wowsa, right off the bat this morning in the dream tending seminar, we're back in the deep-depths of this stuff. I dig this SO MUCH. We're on a break right now and that's a good thing, I don't know about any of the other participants, but I needed to briefly come up for air!! haha! Oops he's talking again, later!
