Volunteering at my childhood summer camp this week! Having a blast, though the local cell towers are down and I can only get internet if I go to the camp office and use the internet that comes through the one wired Ethernet cable. Also it’s the first session of camp and everything is utter chaos, especially with the new COVID regulations. But summer camp is always chaos, so it’s fine

Thanks! I had a nice swim and then sat in the spa for about 5 minutes. ahhhh relaxation. I even started an Active Imagination while I was swimming with one of my recent dreams I've been working with. Didn't really get very far because there were several other people swimming who were sharing the other lanes and it was little distracting so I couldn't really get as much in the zone as I usually do. But it was still a nice swim, it feels so good to be moving in the water. My shoulder is feeling better all the time, it hasn't woken me in the middle of the night once since I started swimming again. Good stuff.

Ever since you said you'd be doing that I've been spending time daydreaming about my days teaching swimming lessons at girl scout resident camp, summers during college years ago. I loved working there, it was the best summer job ever! Us lifeguards were each assigned to a unit of campers so during the day we lifeguarded and taught swimming lessons and in the evenings/night we did activities with the campers. My favorite thing was always the closing campfire for each session - 2 of the lifeguards usually me and one other would go to one side of the lake and light a torch, then carry it across the lake in a canoe, get out on the shore and then carry the torch to the campfire we'd built earlier in the day and light it with the torch. Such good, happy memories of those summers!

I was a girl scout camp counselor one summer at a camp on a lake. It was a fun job. We did the torch across the lake for the closing campfire too.

We also had Polar Bear swim. We'd get up and take campers swimming before breakfast. Brrr. NOT my favorite.

I didn't go to camp until band camp when I was in high school. I think my sibling might have gone to a day camp but he would not have wanted to stay away from home over night. He liked the crafty parts but not the physical parts. I didn't want to go so my parents didn't try to make me. Crafty parts would have driven me crazy.

I went to a day camp one summer. Mostly, I remember the male camp counselor making a huge vat of baked beans and stirring it with a tree branch he found on the ground, and the female camp counselor putting makeup on the girls, which earned her a lecture from my mother on not sexualizing 7-year-olds.

My favorite camp as a kid was Space Camp. I also went to girl scout camp once or twice, but the memories make me sad. I remember the one I went to had a theme of spelunking, so that was kind of cool. Also did the band camp thing in high school.

I went to sleep over summer camp four times. The youngest I was was going into 2nd grade and the oldest I was was going into 12th grade. My parents made me go. I hated everything about camp. I didn't like that they had you scheduled every possible minute. I am a person who likes my down time. It was a religious camp so there was religious classes three times a day and there were also classes with your counselor twice a day. So five times a day we were going to Church. Also one year we played dodge ball four times in five days. I hate dodge ball. I absolutely hated everything about camp. My sister liked it. She was the life of the party. My parents kept trying to make me try it. The best time I had was when I was going into 12th grade. I was going to Summer School at the time. Not because I needed to but because I wanted to. So I got to spend several hours a day doing my classwork in the office area. It was the only thing that made camp bearable.

Camp was always over my birthday too. I despised spending my birthday away from home. Then my parents were Summer Missionaries so they did camp over my birthday even when I stayed with the neighbors. It left me with some not good feelings that my parents didn't choose me over camp.

I have a complicated religious background which is Judeo-Christian. My Mom is Jewish but converted. My Dad is Christian. We did some things the Jewish way and some things the Christian way. Then I went to a Methodist Church in my 20's although now I am Southern Baptist and that is it's own thing. Going to camp when I was young was confusing with all of the religion involved. I don't think that helped.

I have a meeting tonight with my Case Manager. She is going to ask me if I made an appointment yet to have a second opinion about my psych meds. I haven't made the appointment yet. IDK. I've sort of been absorbed in New Cat Helen. But maybe that is an excuse. Maybe deep down I don't want to contradict Pdoc. I never did good with conflict.

Got my mammogram results. Have to go back in. I'm trying to not worry too much. But I'm not sure I am totally succeeding.

My wife had to get an additional mammogram and an ultrasound a few years ago, and it turned out to be nothing. She's had normal mammograms since then. Hopefully yours will be similar!

Thanks, hopefully it is nothing, but since I already had cancer although a good stage of cancer for the breast, I'm not totally convinced it will be nothing. Oh well. Best to catch these things early.

Hugs, Kit, I hope it will turn out to be nothing. Do you know yet when you're going back in? I imagine they should be able to schedule you pretty quickly.

I have to call tonight. I got the letter last night after they were closed saying if you haven't already heard from us (I hadn't) we urge you to come back in as soon as possible for additional imaging. Bleh. I meant to bring the letter with me to work so I could call and schedule but I forgot and so it is sitting there paper clipped to the calendar. So when I get home I'll call and schedule. I'm worried but I'm not panicked. I'm just like, well, if it is, it is. I'll get through it.

I let ToddlerManatee try some kefir today, thinking she probably wouldn't like it, and she LOVES it. Eventually I had to cut her off.

I remembered I had a paper from when I filled out my insurance claim. So I used that and called. They didn't have any diagnostic imaging appointments until August. So I don't go until August 6th. I'm like okay. Lets just hope it's not like quick spreading or something. Now I am a little more worried because that seems really far away but in reality it's just over a month. It will be fine. Yeah. It will be fine.

I’ve been called back. It was just a benign cyst. But anyway, at the time, my mother, one of whose specialties was mammography, told me that less than 1% of callbacks are cancerous. Most often it’s technician error.

I've done that before when I've been at 8+ emotional distress level. I think I end up doing it because the rhythmic motion feels soothing.

I’m trying to determine if it was something like this or whether I was jittery from lack of exercise today or whether I was cold sitting outside.
