I made a gluten free pasta made of corn for dinner, which is good, but when you cook it, it leaves a kind of corn sludge everywhere.

Baaaaah. My old job owes me $14.5k for extra COVID shifts I did in *December*. They told me that I'd get the money direct deposited into my account today, but it is not there. I emailed the administrative assistant responsible and she said she'd "look into it," but she's been looking since, like, January, and that hasn't resulted in me getting paid.

I get that it's an underfunded hospital, but SERIOUSLY??!?

Yeah it’s a stupid amount of money — I worked a ton of extra shifts over the winter when they were desperate for doctors. At this point, it’s such a large sum and it’s so ridiculously late, I feel like they should be paying me interest.

Nope! I did look into the possibility last year since I found it really hard to understand what I needed to submit, and their enquiry system is absolutely terrible. But yeah, I couldn't find someone who could do it for me.

Hey couch. So H had his liver scan today, hopefully we'll get the results soon. Not that we'll understand them, in all likelihood but he has a dr appt next week hopefully they'll have the results then and will explain them to him. I haven't gotten a call back from the doctor yet, I guess in retrospect it's just as well, I probably don't want to know what they're looking for. I'll just worry more if I know.

I unexpectedly got off work early today (yay VTO!) so I spent some time out in the front yard working on trimming/lopping branches off the tree that were overhanging the sidewalk and getting them cut down to sizes that would fit in the trash can. I worked up a sweat and my legs and arms felt all gumby when I got done, but I filled up the just-emptied-this-morning garbage can, so it was a good afternoon's work.

Looking forward to seeing L on friday. I have 8 dreams that I recorded since I saw her last (6/18) and the accompanying work I've done with them, including the drawing from the nightmare, which is still so alive in my psyche and a couple others. I know I need to do an Active Imagination with it and 'talk' to my brother (who was the main character in the nightmare) to find out why he did what he did in the dream, but honestly I don't wanna. She's gonna try to talk me into doing it while I'm there, I'm sure of that, but I know I'm not gonna want to. I wonder if I can somehow recreate it in a sand tray while I'm there. Interact with it that way. Hmm.

My eldest daughter jut came out as trans and i want to know from the other non binary people if there is anything else i can do besides saying that i love him and its ok and getting the pronounciation of their new name right and its hard getting the pronouns right but i really hope he can be happy and they have to be who they feel they are. My ex didnt take it so well apparently. You can dm if you like

Just my take as 1 trans non binary individual - you're doing fine! If you slip up on the pronouns or name, just quickly correct yourself.

I've signed up for an online grief writing course taster next month. I am in a couple of support groups, but feel weird posting about this. I keep trying to kid myself that this isn't a close loss, but it sure as heck feels like one.

I don't have any personal experience but there's other parents who have been where you are and they've given advice.

More moving drama: when I arrived at my new apartment, the 20-something in the office was on her second day of work and knew literally nothing about how to check me in or how I use the laundry machines or anything.

Plus the POD I rented to store/ship my stuff had to be parked like 20 yards away from my actual building because of the way the parking lot is configured. I hired two guys on TaskRabbit to help move my stuff, and I’ve been asking them for *days* if they have a cart or a dolly or something; they finally replied this morning (i.e., too late for me to rent anything) that they have a dolly but not a cart. I asked the new office girl yesterday and she has no idea if the complex has something cart-like I could borrow; I emailed the office manager but she’s been MIA for the last few days so who knows if she’ll get back to me.

So I guess I’m going to spend my morning ferrying my stuff from the POD to the building lobby so that the two guys can actually finish the task in two hours? Vs the two guys and I will out the stuff in my car load by load, drive it the 20 yards, unload it, and then the guys will bring it in the elevator to my apartment?

God, this is a mess.

Can’t you extend their time if need be? Or get them to do the heavy stuff and you do the light stuff when they’re gone?

20 yards shouldn’t be anything if they’re experienced. I’ve had an entire van emptied by two guys in just over an hour and the van was 70 yards away on the street. A POD in two hours should really not be an issue unless they’re incompetent.
