After five years, my therapist is still solidly normal with good fashion sense. Which is a tad disappointing, now that I think about it.

I dreamt something about houses in a beach community and moving. It's a bit fuzzy now, but the reason I'm sharing it on the Couch is because Art and chihiro were in it, also moving.

Today in extremely specific examples from Dr. T. We were talking about how no one can meet all of one's needs all the time (like as part of a discussion about my having this idealized version of love and relationship when I was younger). Dr. T: "Like maybe you're on the toilet when your spouse has a pot of boiling water, so you can't bring them a colander." Me: "That happen to you recently? Wait, not trying to pry into your personal life" (from an earlier discussion). Dr. T: "Well, I did give a very specific example, so..."

I dreamed that I was supposed to go out to see a play with that teacher I discussed in my recent session writeup in In Session Today. I was debating whether or not I should go. And for some reason, I was putting dry spaghetti in a bag to take with me and debating if I should put it in two bags or one (no, the teacher is not Italian). Wish I could remember what play it was, as I'm sure that had some sort of meaning.

Oh...that's weird that I had the dream regarding spaghetti and then Dr. T randomly referenced a pot of boiling pasta today. Huh.

Wait, who doesn’t have a colander right at hand? Is the colander kept in the bathroom? Is the colander a symbol? The boiling water?

The whole example is much too Freudian for my taste. We need una to interpret it.

I didn't remember any dreams from last night. Probably because I didn't sleep in long enough chunks; I drank so much water yesterday, I was up running to the bathroom practically every hour.... it seemed like, anyway.

I don't think therapists are ever normal. You don't want to become a therapist if you're a normal human being. Therapists are the epitome of abnormal.

Right? I also wondered about the colander location. I don't expect H to bring me a colander when I'm cooking--they're conveniently located in a cabinet right by the stove.

And this is the second time in a couple weeks he's referenced being on the toilet, like talking about comfort in a marriage involving "doing no. 2 with the door open," and I was like, "Yeah, I draw the line at that."

Does his talking to me make him think of pooping???

Hi Couchies, I had a lovely time at Disneyland and got a three day pass that you can use on three different days so I am going to go in August and then twice in September (you have to use it by September 30th). But it is for CA residents and it is only $249 which comes out to $83 a day for Disneyland which is really good. I took them up on that offer. My parents were kind of weirded out that I spent that much money on them--the Disneyland Hotel was really expensive--but I told them they took me on trips when I was a kid so to just think of this as me paying them back. They got a little better after that but they were sort of weirded out. They had a good time though. Unfortunately my plantar fascitis acted up so my foot was hurting the last part of the day but overall it was very good. Can't wait to go back!

My Case Manager said that even though I have met all the goals she is hesitant to discharge me because of my frequent suicidal thoughts. Hmmm. I think she is overreacting. Or underestimating me. Yeah I do get suicidal thoughts kind of a lot but I have dealt with them very well for the past year and a half. TW
Possible trigger:
and I think I have learned some things since then. She's been a good support but I would feel okay about getting discharged. I'll have to let her know next session.

I don't see my T Dr. K until the 19th which feels so far away. I can't talk to my support people about the stuff about my sister so I am wanting to talk to someone. But otherwise the break has been nice.

Never. I am quite fond of the Info we see here on the Couch. All I ever get from mine is a discrete bit of bling once in a while, and not even a hint of cleavage. A colorful shoulder-baring spangled therapist is my dream, should I ever look for a new one. Heh.

Actually, my therapist and I have pretty similar taste in clothes. I am pretty fond of her too, despite the lack of outrageous sparkle.

I think you need a new cat. A new new New cat?

Kit, I'm so glad you had a good time at Disneyland! Sorry your foot was hurting, though. That does sound like a good deal, for August and Sept!

My son and his gf had bought tickets for Disneyland just before the pandemic hit, so they weren't able to go last year. They're now planning on going next month and are excited!
