Yeah, she said she forgot to tell me the building was going to be locked and we would have to reschedule. She said she was so incredibly sorry. Shrug. I'm just kind of numb to it all. Then she said it is the biggest thing she has forgotten and maybe she needs to check with her doctor because she had a concussion last year to see if this was related to that. IDK.

I'm sorry, Kit. That is ridiculous.
I've forgotten how old you said she is, but there's no excuse for sending a client on a 2.5 hour round trip to a session that they're not going to have.

Even if it was a severe concussion, I don't think memory lapses on that level can be explained away like so.

There is a definite difference between what you are used to, and what you are worthy of...what you deserve. You deserve care and support that you can absolutely rely on.

Ugh, wow, that's a huge thing to forget, considering it required more than 2 hours of travel on your part. I'm sorry...I know I'd be really upset. But I can also understand your feeling numb. Hugs...

Yeah like my mom always complained in front of my dad that she wanted a tall husband.

I assume your dad was short? My parents are the exact same height (5'8"). My mom has said if my dad were an inch shorter, she wouldn't have married him.

Both Dr. T and ex-MC are short for guys (maybe 5'7" and 5'5", respectively?) and both seem to have hangups about it.

Me and parents were all 5'4", from the time i was in maybe 6th grade? I wore my dad's suit for halloween one year, and none of the girls in my class believed it fit me!

My last t was about my height, i think. Previous was a foot taller!

Update - dang my gut is just killing me today. Pretty sure its just gas pains, cuz i can use a heating pad and it stops for a while, but dang its like having labor pains for a baby that never arrives!

Ugh, I'm sorry about your gut. Hope you feel better soon. Maybe call your doctor?

And I'm also 5'4"! H is 6'3".

For as long as I live, I will never understand (some) straight people's weird hang-ups about the height of their partners.

A little side bar but kind of related. My uncle is a few months younger than my aunt and it really bothers her that she is older. I don't know why.

I had one boyfriend who was slightly shorter than me. I should have married him. Not that he asked. But we were young then. Still in school. Actually I broke it off. He moved to the Windy City and this was hard to deal with whilst in high school in California. He later joined the military, worked for the government and is now married and has a maybe grade-school-aged daughter. I'm happy for him.

My other high school boyfriend was about a head taller than me. He, like me, is still single. He was the one that broke it off.

That seems to be a hangup people have as well. I'm around 9 months older than my H, but that's fine! Though D will be like, "Why are you older than Daddy?"

H is shorter than me. It really bothers my dad. He says he should have put a height requirement for our dating... H and I both don't care: about my dad's comment or about our heights.

OMG, Artie! Your son is 6’8 !!!! That is nuts, especially to someone who is 4’11

My mother was exactly 6 months to the day older than my father. It didn’t bother either of them, and since we did half-birthdays in my family, they got to share their birthdays.

My maternal grandparents—he was 6’3”, she was 4’9”. They had separate beds in the same bedroom to accommodate their different heights.

So today I:
-submitted four reference letters for a student (woke up in a panic thinking I had missed a deadline)
-taught one in-person class
-checked in on my two online courses for a couple hours
-chaired a committee meeting
-was told my arm isn’t broken and I should get PT
-and helped rescue a cat from a tree

I better sleep well tonight.

I'm having a little bit better of a day today. I had several system issues while working yesterday that aggravated the dickens outta me (our IT dept is worse than useless at best) that I finally got resolved this morning. And for now I think my best course of action with h is just to let go of all expectations period.
