Hugs, Artie. That sounds really challenging and exhausting, no matter what your age. It could be worth looking for a new job to at least see what's out there--from what I understand, people can often do better getting higher pay at a new job (rather than asking for a raise where they are) if they're willing to negotiate.

In trying to cheer myself up, and maybe give a smile to the couch in general, here's a pic of Penny posing with my christmas tree:

My word, she's a beautiful cat Artie...thank you so much.

Session today was rough...I ended up talking about something that I really didn't think I would. Thing is, now we're in the same room, we can have the conversation properly.

R's phone buzzed a couple of times, and she finally put it on silent.

I'm wondering whether it would be reasonable to ask her to do that during this season of difficult conversations.

I reached for her hand at one point, and held on to it for dear life, quite tightly.

Before she left, she said 'That was a hard session today. Some of those words didn't want to come out of your mouth. Be kind to yourself today.'

I'm tentatively supposed to see T via Zoom this Saturday. I don't have a time or anything. I am thinking I want to just wait until Tuesday when my next regularly scheduled session would be. I don't know. I am trying to figure out the pros and cons. I have a plan to clean my bedroom on Saturday. If I can stay motivated and be productive I will not want to do anything but chill out and either read or watch TV (or do some of both) after my deep cleaning in my room. But I haven't approached T yet to say my preference. I wonder what is stopping me? Maybe that she will think that cleaning is not such a big deal and I should be able to talk to her on Saturday? We didn't meet last Tuesday because her power was out. She offered a phone call but I told her that I prefer Zoom. So she asked me if I wanted to reschedule. At the time I said that Saturday was fine. But now I am having second thoughts. Maybe I will think about it today and make a decision tomorrow.

You read my mind - I am on break right now and it just hit me when I was goofy-dancing around the house trying to wake my butt up that this is the first January in 10 YEARS that I have not had even one bit of chocolate!! That's the missing ingredient! Eureka!

about 3 more hours til I can log off work and go to sleep.

I decided to follow your advice to Artie and got myself some peanut butter M and M's to finish out my workday!

You have so many exciting flavours of M&Ms there. PB is not for me, but I am jealous of the caramel ones. They have proper caramel in them, rather than flavouring. Enjoy, Kit!

Lost, there is an M and M's world in Las Vegas. I have been to it once. The peanut butter are my favorite. But we usually just have the classic ones at home. My Dad likes the peanut ones. Those are okay but the PB is my favorite.

Logged off for the day! Ahhhhh. Now I can relax this evening. Tomorrow, we have 2 dr appts for h and we have to drop his car off at the shop on the way to them. At least we get to go out for breakfast after. Then I am going to come back home and sleep more haha.

Just watched a Jim Gaffigan bit about all the stuff Britain gave us like the English language and the Magna Carta and we gave them an M & M store.

I think my car has a sign on it that says "Hit Me", the last several days while dashing I have had numerous occasions where I almost got into an accident, fortunately I haven't gotten into one yet.

Aww, she is so cute! I have a Penny too I am too lazy to figure out how to add a picture on here, but she's black and white as well, and is 6.5.

On a different note, I have been in SO much pain lately. About 10 years ago, my feet started getting really sore by the end of my work day (on my feet all day). I just tolerated it until I was literally crawling around on weekends because they hurt so bad.

Long story short, wearing Crocs fixed it. I went 10 years without any pain.
A couple of months ago, it just re-appeared. Absolutely nothing has changed. Week by week, it gets worse and worse. Today was so bad, that they even hurt when I am laying down.

I have a podiatrist appointment, but it isn't until the 27th.

I am a teacher to 2 year olds, so I am almost always on my feet. I try and sit as much as I can, but it is hard.

I seriously do not know how I am going to live like this for at least 2 more weeks. Probably much longer, because I doubt one doctor's appointment is going to fix this.

My city has an urgent-care ortho clinic. If you have something like that near you, they could probably take a look, get some x-rays or something. I went to them because I thought I was having a gout flare-up, so they do look at feet and it's not just broken bones and sprains and stuff like that.

So, part of the conversation with Dr. T Wednesday about virtual sessions during the pandemic involved my talking about when he was sick (and thought he had Covid, but it wasn't) and my reaction to seeing him ill during a virtual session. (Like wanting to take care of him.) And I made the comment, "I think that was the only time I've seen you fairly sick." (I did knock on wood right after!)

This morning, I get an email from him, saying, "This is profoundly ironic," but he came down with a cold yesterday morning, and we'll need to meet virtually today. He's away next week, so, in his words, it's rather unfortunate timing. I'm OK with it, especially as I feel we had a really good discussion Wednesday. But it's still weird timing.

I also hope it's not Covid (I assume he tested, or will test), as he would have likely been contagious during our session. We sit about 6 feet apart (no masks), but I did shake his hand. I mean, I've taken my share of other risks (eating indoors, going to a few indoor concerts), so if I get it this way, it's OK, if a bit ironic.
