So sorry you are sick, Lost. I hope that you feel better soon. Don't feel bad about taking care of yourself by taking time off when you are sick. That's good self care. HUGS Kit

I think that's the effect from the variegated yarn maybe? I would have done another section in the variegated but I ran out - and I found it at Joann, but the colors are so much more muted now. The skein I had was several years old so they apparently changed it. So I opted for as close to matching as I could find for the hot pink and greenish-blue.

Thank you! this is probably my favorite afghan pattern, I think I've mentioned before, the repetition is so soothing for me, and it's very easy to see row by row when you have to add more stitches as it gets bigger so you don't really have to do any counting. I can watch tv and work on it at the same time when I need to relax.

I have decided that I'm going to make another one of those big round ones that I made for myself a year or two ago whenever that was, the one that every round was a different stitch and in beautiful colors... I just enjoyed making it so much, and my sister has been so helpful to me lately talking on the phone (we have had several long, emotional conversations lately) that I want to make one of them for her. I just have to buy the yarn as I want to use the same yarn the pattern calls for, it's very soft, and a brand that I don't normally buy so I don't have any of it in my stash.

H has been very encouraging lately of my crocheting - he wants me to start selling the stuff I make. I have been thinking about maybe doing a craft fair, but of course I need to have a bunch of stuff made before I can. He's always been way more entrepreneurial than me! He's all, if you sell x amount of items at x dollars every month you won't have to work. I think this may definitely be an option in 4.5 years once I can go on Medicare so I don't have to rely on an employer-sponsored health insurance. My friend that I sent the doggie afghan to, she's gotten so many comments from HER friends to the pic she posted of it, people that want to buy them, so there may just be a market for doggieghans. I can certainly do ONE craft fair anyway just to test the waters.

3.5 hours until my therapy appointment. I wonder how many sessions it will take with new T before I stop being anxious before appointments with her?

I've had this core belief since I was a very small child that people (it was adults at first but switched to people once I became an adult!) were unwilling or unable to help me. It's something I have become more aware of in recent years and I think it might be important to talk about in therapy. I think I believe it less but I think part me still believes it. Maybe that's why (or partially why) I haven't gotten significantly better.

HUGS, Kit.

That's a big realisation...and I agree, it would be important to talk about in therapy.

Was as Halmark earlier getting a 5th birthday card for my Nephew and when I was walking down the aisle I saw the goodbye card that I gave my Therapist over 10 years ago at our last session. I haven't seen the 2 goodbye cards that I got 2 later Therapists in years so they must be long out of print.

I haven't had soda in a little over 5 years and have never missed it - until just the past month or so, I have been craving a nice cold can of Mountain Dew. I wonder what's up with that...

Hi couch folks. Update on work. I had what I guess you would call a “heart to heart” with the with the girls doing the training. They told me to help them help me. I told them I don’t know how to help them help me. They asked me to tell them
The steps of the job; the basics-starting with step one. So I told them the steps and they told me I was correct. Then they said..now let’s do the steps. As soon as I went to go actually do them I messed it up. Couldn’t take the know-how from my mind to the computer. Tomorrow at work I start a hard core 2 day training certification course on their whole system. It’s over zoom and at the end of the course on Thursday there is a test. You have score at least a 90% to get the certification. They don’t let you retake it.
It’s a one and done. If you pass you get the certification, if you fail you get fired. No pressure at all. (Insert Sarcasm). Anyone want to come along for the ride?

Hugs, Jersey. That test sounds really stressful--a 90% is a really high bar. Are you at least able to take notes and refer to them during the test? Or is it more of a memorization thing? I can pocket ride.

Jersey - that sounds stressful. I started a new job 3 months ago, and I love it, but the training is brutal because there is so much to learn. We have online trainings too - but you can retake the exams if you don't pass the first time. And Everyone is so patient. I struggle with the multi-tasking so I write everything down. Good Luck. I feel for you as I can imagine myself in the same place.

Well I went back to work for 3 hours today after being off for two weeks with COVID and COVID-related myocarditis. I felt much better and when I did my pulse check halfway through my shift I was pleasantly surprised that my pulse rate was normal. Doctor said this heart inflammation should resolve in 4-6 weeks. Our Executive Director stopped me and said "Welcome back. I heard you had a scare". She was genuinely pleased that this will resolve in a few weeks (she was under the impression it was permanent). It was nice and I felt cared for as an employee.
