After eating a healthy dinner, I remembered it was Fat Thursday.

I want pączki. Not that they’re gluten free.

I had my yearly review today at work, it went really well, I think. I got a raise, so I'm happy about that. But it's been a long week again. I feel like getting drunk tonight, cranking up some Miranda Lambert tunes, and singing my heart out since I have the house to myself. I have a good start on it already, got these Cutwater Tiki Mai Tai's on sale awhile back and have 2 left which will be gone shortly ha. My haircut is at 9 am tomorrow so I don't have to get up super early.

Ok Miranda, let's do this.

Okay I'll stop now

On one of the crochet facebook groups i'm in somebody posted a mystery pattern on valentines day so I made it and it was this! I'm making a bunch of them tonight I love it! pretty with sparkly yarn. I can crochet even when I'm drunk ahahahahaaaaaaa comes from learning when I was a kid I guess, it's like breathing.

I wish I could tell my grandma how thankful I am that she taught me so many years ago!

i'm trying to stay awake i told h to call me when he gets settled in at our friends house in CA it will prolly be another hour before he gets there it's like a 12 hour drive. him and his friend that went along were gonna take turns driving so they could go straight through.

i was just looking at my wedding pics from 25 years ago and feeling all sentimental for the two people in those photos that don't exist anymore i miss them

oh gosh i look at them, so full of hope, so in love, so many dreams.......... where did it all go......... I need to stop drinking I get too melancholy......... i need to fix things somehow........ find that person back that I used to be........ where did she go....... where didit all go....... tears rolling down my face rn.........

They are Polish jelly donuts for Mardi Gras, but super heavy! All the usual flavors, incl lemon and raspberry. It is a HUUUUGE deal in the Detroit area, where we had many Polish immigrants. You can get them at Polish bakeries, but also the regular supermarkets. People line up to bring dozens back to their workplace , at least they did pre-covid. They are pronounced as in my post. Then they become pronounced on your butt!

No, you need to find the person you are now. The you of thirty, or forty, or fifty years ago is not coming back. Trying to “fix” your current self to go back to being those people will not help long-term.

We outgrow places and find new ones to live. We outgrow friends and make new ones. We outgrow relationships, grieve them, and move on to new ones. We outgrow our old selves while still remaining us. Life is now and the past. It is not just the past.

Yum! Donuts sound totally delish. Since h and his no-sugar-and-white-flour-allowed diet is out of town for a few days, a visit to a bakery is clearly in order after my haircut tomorrow morning!!

I miss my Daff!!! But i must admit, i have no waddyacallit, like a baby - you hide under a blanket and i forget you exist. Object constancy. So i only notice your gone when you come back. Altho i do think about our Southie friend and the horse lawyer and wonder how they are doing. I was pretty awful to them. I was still in my "i can tell you what to do to be happy" pants.

This is a really good point and one that I need to take to heart as well. About finding the person I am now, that is. I don't know that I'd want to go back to 25-year-old me anyway--well, maybe the lack of responsibilities (beyond paying my rent).

Well, unless you went severely astray, as i did. The night of my sweet 16 birthday party, i had 3 propositions, and i chose the wrongest one so 50 years later im wondering how did i never find the one for me, and i finally realized the mistake i made, letting my family influence me. So that brought me back to who i coulda been. At least im not wondering anymore.

My faith in humanity is temporarily restored, thanks to a guy who helped me put air in my tires to the right level at the gas station today (he was also there to get air, and I asked if he could possibly help, as I was struggling with that particular pump). He was able to get them to the exact correct levels, and my warning light went off. My H is at physical therapy, and I have to head to Dr. T's in a bit, so wanted to get it taken care of while there was a break in the rain. Also glad I got the low pressure warning when I ran out to the post office yesterday rather then en route to Dr. T's office (which happened once), particularly because I'm especially anxious about today's session.

Love these cute little hearts! I did plastic canvas ones a few years back and made them into tree ornaments. Hearts and stars. We use them every year on our tree.
