i found this resource interesting and informative... http://www.commonsensegovernment.com...-03-05-05.html excerpts : The Different World Views by John Eberhard 03/05/05 </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> I’m going to give a little synopsis of the DeMille lecture here because I think it is vital to understand these world-views. People that have some of these world-views bring about constructive effects in society, and some bring about destructive effects in society, and that – you need to know about. Plus I find that just knowing about these world-views tends to make the whole political scene make more sense. DeMille broke down each world-view according to how the belief system dealt with certain major issues, like ethics, economics, philosophy, law and so on. He covered five of the most prevalent world-views today. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> Biblical Christianity Source: The Bible, Understanding the Times by David Noble </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> Sociology: Home, church and state, in that order. The purpose of the state is to establish justice, freedom, and order. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> Secular Humanism Secular Humanism starts with the concept of materialism. It showed up in the renaissance, with followers calling themselves Christian Humanists. They loved the Bible, especially New Testament. They wanted to help their neighbor, the poor, etc. But they didn’t like the church structure. They said "We’ll go out and help people because Christ said to do that." The secular aspect came in when people later said, "We really like this humanism thing. We want to help people, but we don’t think you do it because of God. We don’t think there is a God. We do it because we feel like we’ve evolved to a higher level as humans. The motivation is to be a better person, not because God said so." The philosophers of this movement were Spencer, Darwin, Dewey, and Kinsey. </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> Psychology: monistic self-actualization. You will become whatever you decide to become. You have to be in touch with what’s right for you at the given moment. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> Material Humanism / Marxism Source: Hegel, Marx, Lenin, Engels Philosophy: Dialectical Materialism, which preaches that you have a Thesis (some idea), then an antithesis (an opposing idea), then a synthesis. In other words, there is one idea, then another opposing it, and from the opposition of the two ideas, another idea is born. The materialism aspect means that the world is all material. There is no spiritual aspect to man or the world. </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> Science: Punctuated evolution, meaning every once in a while there is a huge quantum leap. There are long normal periods and then a spurt, and we just happen to be at the end of a long normal period so of course we can’t find evidence of macro-evolution ("evolution that results in relatively large and complex changes (as in species formation)" Psychology: Pavlovian behavioralism. You can condition people to do what you want them to do. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> Cosmic Humanism Confucian, Hindu, Buddhist and new age counterparts Theology: Pantheism, many gods, and panantheism (everything is god) Philosophy: Connectivity, everything is connected, nothing is disconnected Ethics: Inner relativism, there is a right and a wrong, and I have to get in touch and figure out what that is. Science: Evolutionary consciousness, what evolves is levels of consciousness, over time humanity evolves to higher levels of consciousness. Gene Roddenberry was coming from this in the Star Trek Next Generation TV series. Psychology: Co-effective consciousness, this is the concept that we are all inter-connected. My psychology is impacted by yours. i thought it was interesting to examine the different initiatives in association to the present suffering... a suffering comparable to the times of Jesus, Noah, Moses, Abraham, Sidhartha Buddha, Plato, Shakespaere, Cavemen... social suffering and world despair... it poses a question in my mind.. with the belief in transcendence i trust, in what way do i apply lessons from faith towards wordly dilemmas proactively? |

uh, that's my quote actually... i knew i had that all tongue twisted but my mind had warped after the five world views and that was all i could get out at that point
![]() what it means to me is that as i transcend, i would want to offer myself as servant to my society through volunteer activism.. we have many examples... Martin Luther King Jr., Thomas Jefferson, Sojourner Truth, Joan of Arc, Moses... all rise during times of strife, from strife... i have tried to learn from these people, living and dead.... while their body is gone, their truth and story and struggle remains to be picked up and carried on by current generations... as time moves, improvements and transcendence occurs, albeit slowly at times... is there a such thing as 'cream of th crop' when it comes to religions? are there theories within each that can be skimmed like cream and combined in new and different ways, evolving and growing with the human condition? a synchronistic transcendence? will the struggle ever cease? can spirituality help? its been observed that Jungian psychology dares to go where no other psychology goes... into the spirit... difficult and recurrent cycles need interventions... how can spirituality help? in the 80's they said God was dead... the extreme pragmatists have had their way.... is it time for change? |

Panentheism.....
I promised you I'd get back to you on this topic. I read your post with the quote from Wikipedia and after thought.... that fits.... with native teachings, Christian teachings..... then I read the rest of the link....... </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> North American Indians were and still are largely panentheistic, conceiving of God (or the Sacred Other as George Tinker, a member of the Osage Nation, describes the Deep Mystery which creates and sustains all Creation in his book Spirit and Resistance: Political Theology and American Indian Liberation) as both immanent in Creation and transcendent from it. An exception is the Cherokee who were monotheistic.[citation needed] Most South American peoples were largely panentheistic as well (as were ancient South East Asian cultures).[citation needed] The Central American empires of the Mayas, Aztecs as well as the South American Incans (Tahuatinsuyu) were actually polytheistic and had very strong male deities. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> Wipipedia Lots of different isms..... boggles my mind trying to keep the labels straight. the way i see it chocolate is there'd be acsension from the depths of pain...
i havent researched enough, but fairly sure i'd find several belief systems within panantheism.... the way i understand, there at least three popular God theories we've worked with... immanism: physical, of physical, connected to physical and transcendence... pantheism: abstract, visionary, in the imagination, the unknown panantheism: transcends physical but within physical, visionary, unknown, beyond unknown... Christianity will be in immanism and panantheism... the above indicates my current understanding... my mind tends to 'alchemize' theory... i would pick the ideas whithin each and form a new (for me) theory... just kinda dreaming with it... then, i'd take what new thoughts i had, and meld them in ways, not permanently, but formatively, exploratively, with the five world views... i'd imagine an overlay, a mosaic, a mandala, or whatever inner visual tactic worked for me in the moment, working with all of all the elements... id start a plane of thought on an imaginary blackboard and begin drawing ideas on it.... just dreaming, freeflow, rejecting ideas that seem ridiculous or have proven not to work when checked... then i'd have some left over ideas to check into, think about some, dream about some more, research, and talk to others about... let the ideas develop ... remembering ideas are eggs of thought and some hatch, some dont.... like watering the trees... sometimes there's a drought... allowing Spirit to control the time... staying connected.. from the depths there would be many elevation points one could find oneself at.... |

ive enjoyed these past few days of thinking about Spirit, feeling It, recognizing how needed Spirit is in my soul everyday, all day...
recogizing the different planes i can find Spirit on... in this life and beyond it... how, without Spirit, I'd have very little strength or hope... how with Spirit, all things imagineable seem possible to me... the immananent God for me is One who can hear me daily, who ministers to me in real life, in the form of other people, in the form of things that happen to me day to day... on this Earth plane... i can apply the logic that everything happens for a reason when i think in this way... even the horrbile that is so hard to endure is the Will of God Spirit, intended to guide us closer to Spirit to find healing... it is confusing at times to think of all that must occur for humans to find this source of strength, when it is so much easier to blame and hate God sometimes... i have to look deeper into it to find the healing that's there if i will only look and try to undertand... lessons learned and time consumed... ive wondered why we must live life backwards... learning after we've make wrecks of ourselves and our place... ive heard that babies are born with Spirit conciousness, but by the time they can speak, wordly indoctrination has begun and the Spirit is pushed into the background... ive often felt that technology and 'advances' have only made things harder.. that every solution breeds new problems in a never-ending cycle.. its made me want to stop progress and go back, to when it was simpler... its made me analyze what the difference is between needs and wants... i simplified... not as simple yet as i want to train myself, but you wont find me keeping up with the Jones's thoughout this discussion ive struggled to avoid 'preaching' but it is hard in a conversation like this not to let your opinions air at least once in awhile... i really just wish we, as humans, could rise above this mess we're in and look DOWN upoon it for a change, rather than feeling its burden upon us... if we could examine and analyze all the social factors that contribute to world depression .... if we could as a group, as a whole, find the understanding that is there for us to grab onto... but we are drowned and finding the way is so hard when we are tired and ill... but the answers are there for us all to see... as a people we have all been oppressed... its not always something wrong with our minds... sometimes it is, but sometimes, its just because we're oppressed (and thus depressed) and we arent organized enough to find our way towards the light... for me, God has been the light... and now, in this physical place, i pray to the immanant God because i'm told it is that Spirit which is here in this realm im in now... i want to aspire... i want to pull myself up... i need help, i need strength, i need hope... God gives me that... and i need other humans too... those whove gone where im headed... those who know the way out... cause there IS a way out... Immanant God is there to help me... |

Thank you for that NW..... I really appreciate your openness, honesty and hopefulness. I think we all know the way out instinctively but are conditioned to not listen as closely as we once did.
I've been taught as well that children under 5 are very connected to Spirit. I witnessed it in my own son and was told by Elders to keep him close to the drum.... the heartbeat of Spirit. He was always and is very spiritually sensitive. I know he was visited alot by ancestors because of what he would say about them without knowing who they were. You journey NW has taken to many places in spirit in search of a deeper knowing and understanding of our world and the influences of spirit on our daily lives. You have unveiled many mysteries for yourself and I've no doubt you will reveal many others in their right time. The reality is that we need not journey past listening to our own hearts express the emptinesses we feel. Allowing that emptiness to be ministered to by the Great Spirit and the Greatest Love. Moments of time and prescious gifts are shared in spirit that our daily lives may have purpose. That our human consciousness can transcend in moments when spirit is needed to descern what is happening. Resting in knowing we are one with God is an awe inspiring gift we all have access to. We don't all access the gift but we are all called just the same to align our elements with those of the natural world. To align our hearts, minds, spirits and souls with the balance of the universe. The sun, moon, stars and galaxies that make up our universe. All connected all generating energy all fueling the works of Creator in our hearts. The value Creator places on us is humbling and gives one cause to want more, to do more, to be more and give more to the glory of all the Creator made for us. Humbled by the love and dedication and determination of Creator to have us know heaven on earth. In the hearts of all people is a desire for heaven on earth. For peace to come in the flesh. Our hope is for peace in spirit, our promise is for peace on earth. I pray and believe and live in accordance with peace and love and hope with the promise that none will perish but all will know the glory of God. May your days be filled with joy and enlightenment NW. You are a blessing to me and to all who visit PC for encouragement and hope and fellowship. Here you are..... sharing your hope and proclaiming the promises and showering kindnesses upon us all. Blessings..... |

Good morning to All...
this morning i needed an 'extra' pick me up ... </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> The Mandala Experience : Visions of the Center in Schizophrenic and Fictional Accounts of Disintegration Leslie Trueman Schizophrenia is commonly viewed as a paradigm of disintegration and breakdown. It may surprise some to discover that schizophrenic experience often includes visions of the center, and that these visions can provide a sense of well-being to the disoriented sufferer of psychic breakdown.[1] Concerning the meaning of the center, Derrida once listed all the names which it has been called in the history of metaphysics; "It could be shown that all the names related to … the center have always designated an invariable presence—eidos, arch;, telos, energeia, ousia (essence, existence, substance, subject) al;theia, transcendentality, consciousness, God, man, and so forth" (Derrida 279-80). In the visions of schizophrenics, the center is most often experienced as an ultimate source of supernatural power; the power to heal and the power to protect. The center is thus not associated with a specific religion or even a personal god. C.G. if i remember Jinny, this was the first book i read specifically regarding archetypes:
The Hero Within: Six Archetypes We Live By (Paperback) by Carol S. Pearson (Author) "Most of us are slaves of the stories we unconsciously tell our about our lives..." Editorial Reviews Book Description Works like Joseph Campbell’s The Hero With a Thousand Faces have introduced readers to the significance of myth and archetype in our lives. Carol Pearson’s bestselling The Hero Within takes us further by combining literature, anthropology, and psychology to clearly define with insight and understanding, the six heroic archetypes that exists in all of us: the Innocent, the Orphan, the Wanderer, the Warrior, the Martyr, and the Magician. This substantially revised edition features new chapters that illuminate these archetypes, showing how to reach our fullest potential by achieving a balance between work, family, and the self. About the Author Carol S. Pearson, Ph.D., is the author of many bestselling and respected works on archetypes, including Awakening the Heroes Within. She is president of CASA: The Center for Archetypal Studies and Applications and is the senior editor of The Inner Edge: A Resource for Enlightened Business Practice. link: http://www.amazon.com/Hero-Within-Si.../dp/0062515551 ive had a few copies at different times, but someone needed my last copy more than i did i guess ![]() ![]() on Mandalas i picked up a copy of (published 1972 Boulder/London): Mandala (Paperback) by Jose Arguelles (Author), Miriam Arguelles (Author), Chogyam Trungpa (Foreword) Most Helpful Customer Reviews 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars The Mandala Experience, September 7, 2000 By A Customer The "Mandala" is a beautiful book of the many cultures that experience this sacred path. On every scale, every natural pattern of growth or movement conforms inevitably to one or more of these geometric shapes. Designs of the world's great cathedrals and holy places are based on the principles of Sacred Geometry. The ancients knew that these beautiful patterns and intricate codes were symbolic of our own inner realm and the subtle structure of awareness. Much more than "symbolic" patterns of art and philosophy, the true science of Sacred Geometry allows direct, practical access to spiritual and material forces of creation. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> link: http://www.vesica.org/sacredgeometry.html </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> WHAT IS SACRED GEOMETRY? Sacred Geometry means literally “the Sacred Measure of the Earth.” It has been taught as a powerful, practical spiritual science to closed groups of Initiates in every great spiritual tradition of the world. Sacred Geometry holds the keys to how non-physical Spirit creates the manifest world through specific patterns, each of which creates specific functions of Life or Consciousness. Sacred Geometry provides a solid foundation for both Scientific and Spiritual Knowledge. Every pattern in Sacred Geometry is like a “Letter” in a “Divine Alphabet”; every pattern creates a specific function of Life and Consciousness. We can learn to read these “Letters” (patterns) and then ‘spell words’ with these divine creative forms. In other words, we learn to read in the book of nature and use spirit’s own language of sacred geometry to create optimal effects in any work we undertake. HOW DOES SACRED GEOMETRY APPLY TO MY LIFE? Sacred Geometry allows us to directly understand the “geometric coding system” that Spirit uses to manifest all Life and Consciousness. It gives us vital insight into the foundations of both spirit and matter, insights which can be applied in both spiritual and scientific pursuits. It also allows us to heal the painful split between spirituality and rational, scientific understanding which so afflicts our modern society and our own soul life. Sacred Geometry has been taught for millenia to Spiritual Initiates in multiple spiritual traditions around the world for a very good reason: it can be applied to transform our own life energy, consciousness, and the world around us in the most beneficial ways possible. In fact, one reason that the previously secret teachings of Sacred Geometry are now being made publicly available (by multiple spiritual traditions) is so that the knowledge can be applied to help heal ourselves and our planet. WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM LEARNING SACRED GEOMETRY? Anyone who wants to understand the foundations of spirit and matter, whether for their own personal development or for application to a particular field of work. Many students find it is the “missing link” which allows them to make sense of the fragments of spiritual and scientific knowledge they have been exposed to in their lifetime. We often have students tell us that a part of them is “waking up” and “remembering” deeper aspects of their own spiritual nature and knowledge of deeper realities by being exposed to this work. Students will also often comment that they have “seen” the forms before in their dreams or meditations, but did not previously understand their significance. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> Link: http://www.vesica.org/sacredgeometry-faq.html </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> Sacred Geometry, in summary, provides the essential knowledge for all human activity by clarifying the natural patterns which the world is based on. In the past, spiritual schools have closely guarded the secrets of Sacred Geometry—in many cases requiring initiates to prefer death to revealing those secrets to the uninitiated. But with modern science's rediscovery and manipulation of these patterns, what was once secret must now become available to everyone; we all will be touched in our lives by humanity's global success or failure to understand the Sacred Geometry of matter and spirit. Every individual effort to apply the knowledge of sacred geometry in the world—in Health, Environmental Work, Spiritual Development, Medicine, Psychology, Art, Education, Physics, Metaphysics, etc.—is a constructive act of healing wisdom. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> link: http://www.vesica.org/healingwisdom.html comments to follow.... |

Generally, it maintains a similar methodological structure to the Middle Eastern tradition of classical geometry that is limited to operations carried out by the compass and straightedge, or two sticks and a rope. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> link: http://www.earthmeasure.com/index_earth.html ![]() </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> Here was an unmistakable symbol, a design that is perhaps one of the most important in Hermetic philosophy. It is a cosmic law, a collection of numeric, musical and geometrical harmonies which founded the prevailing order in every ancient civilization. It is literally a depiction of the realm of God: it embodies the principle of the Three in One. It is representational of the cosmic egg, a symbol of creation where the three elements- mercury, sulphur and ether- are given substance by the breath of God and made into matter. The central circle contains the total area of the surrounding three circles. The sum of all circular areas comes to 31,680 sq. feet, with 3168 being the gematrian number representing Lord Jesus Christ. The same number was also revered by pagan religions as the number of the highest principle- the Creator. The personal creation shape contains complex mathematical equations like the Fibonacci series, Pi value, The Seed of Life, the Flower of Life, the Fruit of Life and the Tree of Life, all of which are embodied in this cipher. Cosmic Shapes function as an intelligent language for personal creation and living awareness. You may feel that your rational mind cannot grasp the meaning of the cosmic shapes, but your physical body and your sub-conscious receives the meaning of these symbols in a very powerful way. The shapes inside the personal creation symbol, communicate with the genetic library that is encrypted in our bodies and contains all the knowledge of the universe. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> Tibetan Mandala and Vesica Pisces The concept of the frequency that governs all, exists in all cultures starting with the "TOHU VA VOHU" in the old testament or the "OM" - the sound, the frequency that created everything (O-M, movement and rest, a frequency). The Tibetans create their beautiful Mandalas from colored sand and if you'll take a metal plate and cover it with sand and make it vibrate with different sounds you will be able to see different structures that are formed in the sand, that are very similar to the sand Mandalas. In the end, after a few weeks when the Mandala is finished, they simply wipe the sand off Mandala to show the non attachment to the illusion of the external, and also to show the constant change and the process of life and death that takes place in the external world of illusion. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> The term 'sacred geometry' is used by archaeologists, anthropologists, and geometricians to encompass the religious, philosophical, and spiritual beliefs that have sprung up around geometry in various cultures during the course of human history. In religious art, the mandala is used to symbolize wholeness - the circle of eternity. However, the pattern of a mandala -- a circle with a center -- reaches far beyond a two or three dimensional art form. Examples of mandalas are found in nature. Every cell in our body, for instance, is a living mandala. So is the iris of our eye, a snow crystal, a bird's nest --even a bicycle wheel. Look around - CAn you see more mandalas in nature? in your surroundings? </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> Link: http://www.princetonol.com/groups/ia...h.htm#MANDALAS |

sacred geometry and art/architecture:
</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> Art and architecture The golden ratio, geometric ratios, and geometric figures were often employed in the design of Egyptian, ancient Indian, Greek and Roman architecture. Medieval European cathedrals also incorporated symbolic geometry. Indian and Himalayan spiritual communities often constructed temples and fortifications on design plans of mandala and yantra. For examples of sacred geometry in art and architecture refer: * Labyrinth (an Eulerian path, as distinct from a maze) * Mandala * Parthenon * Taijitu (Yin-Yang) * Tree of Life * Rose Window * Celtic art such as the Book of Kells * Yantra * Swastika * Dharmacakra </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_...#Natural_forms i have attempted to show a connection between sacred art, the Earth, architecture, history, modern technology, and spirituality that has been active and continues to be active in our current world.... </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> ...To me, these paranormal phenomena are exciting evidence that we are not alone, and that we have a purpose in being here. I have been especially intrigued by crop circles - perplexing phenomena that only show their true beauty - and message when seen from above. Some suggest that these are related to UFO activity in a specific area, and while I wouldn’t discount the possibility, I’ve always felt these came from a Higher source…. when I look at them, I feel tremendous energy and I get the sense of the angels and the Ancients focusing their thoughts to create and send a beautiful message. Crop circles have become more complex with time, as if some magnificent beings began practicing this art and got better with practice. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> When standing amidst the Crop Circles we could no more but guess the real image of their figure. We could measure or meditate on it, but we could only see and understand a limited part of it. This is how, in fact, we live our everyday lives – within a limited selfish viewpoint. But if we look at the Crop Circle from different perspective – from the air – we could clearly see and understand the whole picture. And only now we get the chance to really know the whole massage. And get out of limitation. The difference between these two perspectives is only a difference between the viewpoints of our consciousness. Between the levels of our consciousness. The scale of our intelligence. So, this is the second message of Crop Circles - the whole picture of God’s Creation is understood only at a higher level of our consciousness. Beyond the standard everyday limitations of our mind. </div></font></blockquote><font class="post"> link: http://www.globalpsychics.com/weblog...-crop-circles/ |
