The thing is, I didn't need to exercise before to keep my weight down (I only used exercise to lose weight because of my ED, not to maintain it). I normally have a fast metabolism. I talked to a social worker yesterday, and he said that Seroquel can increase appetite, which is probably what's happening...

I've been begging my mom to get a gym membership as a late birthday present since she didn't get me anything, but she won't do it.

I'm 5'8 and am heading toward 130 lbs. I weighed 105 in November before going to the hospital.

I'm not going to be your parent but surely you should know if your taking XR. Its a difference , it says XR on the box. Are you taking your meds ? , if not , then fair enough. When I wasn't taking my meds I once told the pdoc I was taking an antipsychotic that was completely unrelated to the one on my script.

I think the XR (extended release)is just for seroquel...basically if you are getting it for psychosis you should really be on the XR but if you are getting it for sleep you should be on the IR....

Seroquel is weird it is a very weak D2 antagonist and it will dissociate from the d2 receptor before the day is over if you are using the IR so this is great if you just take it before bed because it will be gone before you wake up if you're just using it for sleep, but if you want the drug to last a full 24 hours and block psychosis you need the XR....otherwise it will just be gone...also there are pretty significant dosing differences between sleep and psychosis too like 50mg vs hundreds...

I am wishing i were more sleepy, since its really time for bed, but otherwise great. Just have to get through tomorrow then looking forward to a three day weekend. (Took Friday off) Having less conflict gong on around me at work with one of the participants on vacation. Enjoying a new patient who has some very colourful stories! Got some new, better curtains to block the view of the snow when sitting in the livong room. Helps a little bit.
I tried seroquel as a sleep aid a few years ago and it did absolutely nothing. Didnt make me sleepy, or have any effect at all that i noticed. (So obviously i quit taking it!)

Mine comes in a prescription bottle, not a box. I could have gone downstairs to check, but I was too lazy.

So I just google imaged the XR and was like "Yeah, that looks like it."

Yay thoroughness.

Yeah, I'm on 600mg of Seroquel, and it's definitely not for sleep, so...

My face burns pretty badly and my tongue feels weird. I see my pcp hopefully today, but I'm not sure if the snow storm will close the facility for the day.

I've been having some trouble sleeping as well, but it's mostly early waking rather than not being able to fall asleep.

Enjoy your Friday off.

They do make the IR in much higher doses too but that's kind of like old technology before they knew about all the receptor kinetics but some people were stabilized on that but I do think you should check because the XR even has it on the pill, if you're not on XR you should be...it's always possible your pdoc doesn't know the kinetics studies depending on when he was trained and how much CME he has.

Ok so this may sound a little weird but do you think you could be at all manic? The reason I ask is not being able to sleep is one of the symptoms of mania and if you have any tendency toward bipolar you can actually become manic on ADs---that's why you normally get a mood stabilizer instead of an AD for bipolar and sza.

well im still slightly lethargic but cant sleep. lethergic because of the shot. but idk if its because ive been taking those 5hr energy shots. but im still sleepless way after the 5hr energy drink is suppose to wear off.

i know in the past ADs made me homicidal and slightly suicidal. that was zoloft and prozac though. im not sure. ever since ive been taking this med i cant sleep. it may be the med im not ssure.

there could be a lot of reasons why i cant sleep though. i smoke nicotine before bed. i drink coffee before bed. i got a lot on my mind. im stressed. im also stressed also because of trauama from hospitalization still. and other things. im on my phone a lot. but it could be the meds because all that other stuff never affected me MUCH before just a little.

Insomnia is a strange thing.

For me, insomnia comes with depression and mania. Usually how it works is if I'm too depressed I can't sleep because I'm stuck on something I can't get out of my head and my brain keeps me awake to defend myself against it. I stay awake and cry. But, I am exhausted the whole next day and just want to lay down on the floor and take a nap. However, not sleeping can push you into mania pretty easily or cause me to have an episode. If for some reason I get bad sleep several nights in a row, it's not a good thing. I will definately have an episdoe then.

The symptom of manic insomnia is lack of sleep but you don't feel tired. I know it's bad when I can't get to sleep, fall asleep at 2-3 a.m. and then I'm awake just fine for work at 6:30 and have energy all day and not feel like a zombie. Instead I feel super-charged.

With mixed mania (aggitated depression?) I feel energized but still can't do anything I want to do. I forgot the name for it. But, I still have that "not tired" feeling even if I'm not productive. it's a complicated sensation.

We put ours in the freezer this fall.
I wanted to buy turkey and chicken eggs to hatch out but finances are tough this winter.
Maybe I will get some from Tractor Supply this spring but Im picky. I want Ameracauna, cookoo(sp) maraun and Narragansett turkeys.
Colored eggs sell better at the farmers market.
