LOL this is great!

So, last night was my son's pinewood derby race. He didn't win. But he was a good sport and didn't get upset or anything! I was really proud of him for his good sportsmanship attitude.

Work is stressful today but I seem to be handling it well.

Hey everyone,

I've been feeling down so haven't really been online much. Hope everyone is doing ok. I have an appt with a case manager today. I'm hoping I can get into some kind of bipolar support group. So I've got to go get ready. Hope everyone has a good day.

i would put this on another forum like the eating disorder one but since i have friends here so idk.

but so far i ate 284 calories today and im gonna see if i can keep it under 300 or 500 today. im hungry but i need to lose weight.

my anxiety is high right now. i tried to smoke a cigarette or two to calm down but its not working and im scared to use my xanax cuz i dont have but a one month supply. im smoking less tho. 3-4 cigs a day instead of 5-6 or more. some days i smoked just 2.

Psychologist says the Prozac gave me mania because I started my usual dose too quickly. I agree as it reminds me of atypical disaster. So I will start slowly and follow pdocs orders. (Well when I first started I was given clonazepam, seroquel and risperidone so I'll have to start really slow).

Newtus: I'm not kidding, my cats consume more calories than that daily. They're getting really fat and I can't ween them off because they cry at least do 1500 calories (I don't know anything about calories) you don't need to lose weight so quickly.

the problem with eating that many calories is u will lose weight fast but ur body goes into starvation mode and when u eat anything it automatically turns it into fat. so u will gain it all back and more. its not really a good way to lose weight. just sayin.

I know no one wants to hear it, but the #1 way to raise metabolism -including to combat med effects- is to exercise!!!! No getting around it.

This is way too few calories. You can really hurt yourself.

So one of the dietitians I work with went over it with me just the other day.

1 pound of fat = 3500 calories.

To safely lose weight you lose 1 pound of fat per week by cutting 500 calories from your diet each day. Or by adding exercise in 100 calories. Adding exercise also prevents diabetes even more than changing your diet in some circumstances. Sitting still is really, really bad for your body.

1 pound a week = 52 pounds in one year.

If you add strength training exercise you will burn more calories even when you sit still because muscles require more energy that fat.

The most you should cut from your diet is 1000 calories per day, but if you're already close to your goal calories (not less than 1200 a day,) then this is dangerous.

So....

Please do not attempt to educate me on dieting. As a lifelong anorectic, i absolutelyadmit i am not healthy- but when it comes to getting skinny, i can school a licensed dietitian. I shouldn't have engaged with you on this topic at all, since it caused our initial rift. I will drop it if you will.
