Newtus, I hope that you were able to take your meds, and that you're on your way to feeling better.

I'm home on my couch snuggling with a miniature representation of a polar bear that my daughter gave me because of its likeness to a very mellow character, that has a penchant for elaborate japanese puns. He's very soft.

That almost sounded like the banner of someone running for president in a not too distant future dystopia.

Tweaky I'm on Invega shot and I don't get any side effects whatsoever. It hasn't got rid of everything fully but I'm still on the loading doses so it could be that. Injections are better cos you don't have to remember to take your meds (need to remind myself that when I start hating it again). I can't take abilify cos it made me pass out but it made me shake loads too. Invega is the only one where I haven't had any side effects.

Morning roll call!!

Not been around much... been a mixture of busy, taking naps & just generally a bit disconnected with the whole forum malarkey but I am doing quite well.

I'm quite happy with being on risperidone now. Even if I am still napping a lot, I feel more human than I did on abilify.

In other news, I feel like a failure. I've just done week 4 of the stop smoking program. I was doing so well but I have no idea what happened, I've just spiralled the last couple of days working my way back up to 20 cigarettes a day. They expect you to be completely reliant on NRT by week 4 so I have no idea what they'll say. I'm supposed to have an appointment today but since they are quite casual (turn up any time on a certain day), I'm just going to skip it & go in tomorrow when hopefully I'll have something positive to say. I feel like such a failure though, I want nothing more than to be rid of cigarettes but I can't stop myself even when I've got NRT products to help. I can't help but feel my illness & medication is to blame for that yet I can't really explain that to them, at least not without feeling rather uncomfortable.

I've lost more weight! I'm at my first goal weight now feeling great about eating healthy. Last night I had an english muffin with avocado spread onto it and fried eggs. It was delicious and not too filling. My no snacking is going well, I just drink copious amounts of tea lol. My next goal weight is 3 pounds away. Ideally I just want to be as small as I can without having to stop eating. I'm curious at what my body will naturally rest at when I eat healthy. Weight is so important to me. It's ridiculous

Thanks justme, you are right... as long as I keep on with the program I am doing all I can & not a failure. I just need to muster up the motivation to get me back on the patches. I'm sure another guilt-ridden day of smoking will do that just fine.

Congratulations on reaching your goal weight!

hello peoples! Good job Justme, it sounds like you've got it cracked!

Loial I think the important thing is you want to quit. dont let a little setback stop you from trying.

Hey loial. Good to hear from you I was wondering where you were. glad the risperidone is working out so well for you....

While I've never smoked my advice is simple...don't quit quitting....one day it will stick.....

They're starting to sit on things, and I'm sure it will progress into chewing pencils and "accidentally" knocking things on the floor. Hopefully I can pick some up asap. I don't want to come home to decapitated stuffed animals.

How is everything with you?

I think it qualifies. I think of them as a street gang. . . That doesn't go outside. An indoor street gang. One young girl, and a 4 old men.
