Pros
I'm starting Invega and replacing from abilify which will help to give me an appetie.
Stops me from the "I stopped taking my meds" phenomenon.
I could get used to abilify
Cons
it could make me fat
I could get side effects that I haven't had with abilify.

I have a great fear of risperidone and paliperidone because they are horrible drugs. I want to decrease it eventually

I have to put trust in these people. I don't want to go through what newtus went through. An the haldol barely even worked I think

I night get 150mg injection then 8 days later it's the 100mg injection then it's every month

I just feel like abilify is much cleaner unlike the nasty risperdal. It really helps with my paranoia and risperdal didn't it just made me have this chemically unnatural depression and sedation
So you know that invega is just the active metabolite of risperidone right---personally I'd go for the abilify if that works for you.....

I always found it scary as when meds started messing with my eyesight. I thought they could make me blind, they didn't though... yay for not being blind

Wow, that is insane. I'll ask next time how much my shot costs. If you're below a certain income threshold here you don't get billed for public medical care at all.

"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream"

"There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.”

These two quotes meant a lot to me when I was struggling with psychosis. They validated my opposition to what I thought where lies, lies that only became truth. So I've changed my signature to what it is now. It belongs to music about a great loss and the lyrics convey that though the world may be what it is, there is hope that there's something more than this, a kingdom of salvation to take us home.

i was on haldol injections from november 2013 to february 2014. basically a year ago. the side effects were the worst. i was sleeping over 16 hours a day. i gained 5 pounds a month and then 10 pounds a month after that. i gained almost 60 pounds.

that injection is why im losing weight now. i had gained 80 pounds on seroquel a year before that and JUST lost it. i begged them to death to not put me on injections because i would gain weight. the nurse told me "you need to gain weight anyway. your too skinny". i told them it would make me very sleepy all the time. they said "deal with it" and shot me in the butt at the clinic.

im still at that clinic........
i hate it but i cant go anywhere else because no one else takes my insurance.
