Hey guys! Long time.. - Checked into a hospital and started treatment. Feel a lot better now, the meds did a great job.. how's everybody doin?

I'm pretty good apart from the cold I've got. Been off medication for just over a month now & apart from a small slip up earlier this week my symptoms haven't gotten much worse. Hopefully things will continue that way!

I always get a bad cough when I give up smoking. I googled it to see if there was any basis behind it or if it was just me. Why do we cough so much after we quit smoking?

You might be better off waiting until your cold is gone at least before you stop, or try stop for a day or two and see what happens. If it gets worse it's probably not the best time to stop.

I'm in the same boat anyway, which sucks because I'm only after a bad cold and it seems it's back. I hope you feel better soon!

Anyway, I was supposed to go out today to a car show with my sister but found out it's €20 to get in and I just don't have that much money and money to do me the rest of the week, my parents aren't here so I can't borrow money. Raging, I got all ready to go, my hair took me ages and it's wasted now lol Boring crappy day to myself so! You guys will keep me company, right? Riiiight?

It's not that I'm going to try giving up smoking it's just that if my asthma starts to play up, smoking is the last thing I should be doing.... therefore taking a break from smoking until things are better might be a good idea.

Strangely enough though, I've never developed a cough when quitting smoking. I guess it's just one of those things... some people do & others don't.

Sucks that you got all ready for a day out then had to cancel... we'll do our best to keep you entertained though!

If that's the case yeah it might be a good idea to even cut back, if it where me (I smoke 20 p/d) I'd cut back to about 5. I have to be realistic myself as I have no willpower. I lost that a long time ago

I just hope the asthma doesn't flare up, that can be uncomfertable and even dangerous so make sure you've plenty of inhalers. Tip no. 2 from Mammy Paula

Yeah I was really looking forward to heading out, my sister offered me the money but I know she doesn't have it, she had to pay for the kids and her boyfriend so I wasn't going to take any money off her.

To be fair it's already playing up, just had to use my inhaler for a second time today. I think that's a sign to lay of the cigarettes for the moment.

You know it's strange, as I alluded to above this is the first flare up I've had this year which is something considering I've been smoking the whole time.

I was only diagnosed last year despite probably having occasional mild symptoms since I was a teenager. I think technically I have intermittent asthma since it generally doesn't affect me much apart from the occasional flare up.

Me, dance?! You have to be kidding right!

It really would be cringingly entertaining to watch though.

ive been sleeping all day and night. bedridden. been vomiting every hour. got a headache.

sounds like me when i had mono

i just have the flu probably or a really bad cold. i got my flu shot but i think i caught it from my dad.

i threw up my regular meds last night. haldol and ambien. didnt take the xanax.

Nothing much going on here. Kids went off with my husband so it's just me and the dogs & cats lol. Hoping to have some work to do later. It's better than cleaning

i think because i threw up my meds im hearing stuff right now. idk i cant tell. i wish i was well...

i kept the theraflu down this morning and the headache was relieved but the headache is kinda still there. i looked half dead laying in bed with my mouth all open and trying to breathe for air past two days.

i missed a school assignment. theres no late excuses. so its over.

feeling down and have to start getting ready for work soon

This should be a good week coming up. Group, grocery shopping, ordering new clothes.

my eyes are having trouble focusing and the sun hurts them.

ive been in bed for a good almost 48 hours. i got out today in the sun. i got out of bed today at 10:00am

Well, I'm glad I stopped smoking earlier because my asthma is just getting worse. Had to use my inhaler 4 times today. I'd almost forgotten how **** it feels when you can't breath properly. It's worse than the cold that's causing it.

Guess I'll call my GP tomorrow. Might have to go on a course of steroids.
