Driven out of apartment by neighbors

Really? For me hearing voices and hearing actual voices are identical. How can you tell the difference? I think the reason we keep asking if it might be psychosis is because you haven't verified anything with another person. That's tricky.

Well my friend has heard them too, naturally since he visits here. This is a poorly constructed building, and you can hear stuff from the adjacent or up or down apartments.

I never heard voices that sounded identical to real voices. I had the stalker, but only whenever I tried to sleep. I also heard loud mechanical noises, I think it's called Exploding Head syndrome. Anyway, the only times I've heard stuff that isn't really there is when I tried to sleep. I've been lucky that the Abilify has gotten rid of that.

Right, now this is entirely different to the window scenario. Sound really doesn't travel well upwards in apartment buildings. Music, sure. Usually the bass travels well. But, voices don't travel up through floorboards. At the most you might hear muffled voice like sounds if they were talking loudly.

If you can hear them talking about you clearly or anything, then that just isn't happening.

Are you still in touch with that friend who was supposed to help you with your clearing up? Could they come & see what they can hear. I really think having someone verify what is, or isn't going on is important.

You say you can tell the difference between real and hearing voices, but the stark truth is, not if you've lost insight. I've heard voices that are as real as day that were hallucinations. Voices of people I recognize.

There's honestly no way you can judge if what is going on is real or not. I know it's all very real & distressing to you, but when you suffer from something like schizophrenia, it's a distinct possibility it's a relapse.

I'm saying this because I care about you. Perhaps we are not in a situation to judge what is going on, but quite possibly neither are you...

Loial, I can hear their vocal tones from their place. They are directly downstairs and I can hear them, but not the words they're saying.

Again, I appreciate what you're saying but you would have to be here to find out for yourself.

My friend could hopefully come by but I doubt if they'd pound and stamp if he were here. He has heard their loud music almost every time he visits.

Ok, fine... so that's all & they are real, but what part about hearing differing tones of conversations or laughter suggests it is about, or directed, at you?

Why should hearing people, say on the phone, talking to a friend or laughing at a TV show make you feel harassed. Something just isn't right about that.

The most worrying thing about this is the level of paranoia you have surrounding all this. As far as I can tell, it's just fuelled by some very bothersome neighbours.

I mean, the fact you have heard car horns honking, and attribute them to signals to your neighbours to test run killing you? I mean, no offence, but that's delusional thinking.

I appreciate maybe the noises are all real, but the way you are reacting to it / interpreting it is not.

In fairness you're posting this in the psychosis forum. Maybe if you moved the thread to 'general discussion' you might get the feedback you're looking for.

Unfortunately there's no "HELP! I'm going to be murdered to DEATH!" sub forums. But I'll ask management and see what they can do.

I can accept that my interpretation of these events may be overly paranoid. But not to the extent you're suggesting. You weren't here when I was surrounded by fists banging on our shared walls, with stamping from the ceiling. It was stunningly terrifying. It was about me. Then they began acting out of character. They didn't put their music on. They continued to much more quietly thump the walls, while the upstairs was stamping on my ceiling.

The upshot is I don't feel secure here. I don't know what will happen, though. But it doesn't feel like a good environment.

Please check your sarcasm at the door. I really don't appreciate it.

You seem to have frequent bouts of break through psychosis. Would you like it if people responded to you with nasty jabs and sarcasm? Maybe you're hypomanic? Maybe you should think before you write and let compassion be your guide.

I kind of agree, and would like to elaborate here.

What do you expect? We are here to support you, but naturally we're seeing things in a certain light, that in all honesty seems rather likely.

At least talk this through with your friend if you aren't comfortable going to your p-doc with this. You need to bounce all this off someone who can rationalize what is going on.

The tiny details you are picking up on, that's like a hallmark of psychosis. Attributing meaning to the smallest changes... you are actively looking for things to be wrong. Just saying...

I have talked about this with my friend. He believes the situation because he knows the quality of these neighbors.

As for posting this in the psychosis forum, I did that because I'm not necessarily comfortable in other forums on this site. I have posted threads in this forum in the past and it felt familiar to me. Plus, the abuses being done to me in this situation are probably more familiar to people who are similarly disabled. Our disabilities make us attractive victims of predatory types of people. I'm very glad if that isn't true for you.

The stamping was driving me crazy so I shouted in a threatening tone of voice and she stopped. But then she did something, ran down to outside? I don't know. Maybe called the police on me? I don't know. I'm waiting for them to arrive even though I have no idea if she called them.

There are two women upstairs. Both are probably stamping, changing off. They're still at it a little bit. Doing one off stamps so the recorder doesn't pick those up. One is talking and the other one, I'm guessing, is walking around doing the one off stamps and dropping heavy things on the floor.

She was talking to a man. She did almost all the talking. It went on about 45 minutes, I think. Then I guess he left. There hasn't been any stamping still, since I shouted.

I spoke too soon. One of them is still doing one off stamps, and dropping something heavy on the floor.

And the man left, and a little bit later I heard someone (him) talking over a police radio. So it was the police. I don't even want to know what she was saying for all that time (about me). The lies could fertilize the desert.

I am glad the police did not knock on my door.

So far today, nothing to report. I put ear plugs in last night because the stamping was making me feel really sick.

I've heard the dropping of heavy things every now and then upstairs, but thankfully it's been muted by the ear plugs. I'm afraid to remove them because I don't know if I can handle another day of this disgusting situation. I won't be able to hear my phone, or any knocking at my door.

I've kept the ear plugs in all day. They make me feel even more isolated but I just can't deal with the stamping and wall thumping/pounding.

But the thought that I'll have to take out the ear plugs at some point was such a horrible thought I began feeling very sick again. When I say sick, I mean nauseated and so traumatized I fear I'm going to go fully catatonic. And I have to keep my courage up because I have to gain the strength to find a new place to live. Even if the landlord tried to do something about these freaks, they'd probably just find more ways to make my life unlivable here. It's really a shame that there are people like that in the world.

When I first moved here, and they were not living here then, it was really quiet and I value peace and quiet. Out of the entire building they are the only ones making noise. He could have listened to his music at a tolerable volume, (or if he really needed it loud, headphones).

I'm not sure what's wrong with the women upstairs (friends of the pos downstairs), but even before the stamping they used to pull their furniture around in the dead of night, like 3 to 4 am. And also drop their heavy crap (whatever it is) on the wood floor.

I'm always amazed when people like that "win" but I shouldn't be, by now. I just hope karma is for real.

The only change since yesterday is that they picked up on the fact I wasn't hearing them. (Because my illness makes me react.) They have gotten louder although they are still muffled by my ear plugs. I can't have them in forever. (They irritate my ears pretty badly.) I have to get my eyes examined, and also new lenses so I can drive around looking for a new place.

I feel sick to my soul.
