I have tried other APs but they all have bad side effects for me or they just don't work. Like Abilify made me physically sick and it didn't work, Risperdal gave me the same problems are Invega, Seroquel and Zyprexa made me gain weight and eat a lot.

I think the important thing is you might have to tell your doctor about it because it's technically an off label use for metformin which cannot be pushed by pharm reps so not all the docs know about it.

I would say that everyone who suffers from psychosis is a brave soul.

Everyone reacts differently to anti-psychotics, so it's common for people to go from one to another to another before they benefit. That's what happened to me, for I've tried many anti-psychotics over the years with no benefit.

I started taking Seroquel several years ago, and my starting dose was 50 mgs/day. Thus my dose has gradually increased over time to what it is now.

Unfortunately, it's trial and error before you find an anti-psychotic that works for you.

Reading about Xanax as I got some for anxiety. This is from an addiction blog and is apparently designed to turn you off abusing it: "In a way, snorted Xanax works too well because the mode of administration can trigger a euphoric high and intense release from anxiety"

They need to fire whoever is in charge of deterring people from abusing drugs

I found out that my insurance covers seeing a nutritionist so I plan on seeing one in a few weeks.

I actually found that brain age and lumosity helped me but one of the things I noticed is it helped with motivation, doing something kind of fun for five minutes tended to help me start on other harder tasks.

Thanks! I plan to download the app for my phone and see if that starts to help out. I might even download one if there's one that helps with chemistry.
