Hi, I'm sorry to read that you're starting to hear voices. Are they external or in your mind only?

I'm not entirely sure if I have heard voices or been the victim of my bad neighbor all along. It doesn't really matter though. I just had a switch of ap meds in April and I'm either hearing them less, or the ap is making me care less about it.

Anyway, welcome to the sz forum. You're welcome anywhere in the forum including roll call!

They are like disembodied voices, like a ghost in the room. It's actually just one specific male voice from my childhood. He was the man who ruined me at 9 years old. He either says "Hey" like he always did when he'd call or come over or "Hey sweetie" in that creepy voice right behind my right ear. I think that's what he said to me to calm me down as he abused me. I just want to scream at the voice and say "Teach me algebra or something useful, just anything but hey!".

What type of medication are you on currently if you don't mind me asking? Thank you.

Thank you for the welcome! =)

I've heard more hallus in these last few days...
Fortunately I got rid of my snake lady hallucination a couple months ago by punching her in the face

Interesting you should say that.

When I first started hearing my current voice, I thought it was my flat mate... like literally did.

However, I realise that it doesn't actually sound like him... I just thought it did. I've certainly attributed other voices to people I know too at times. I don't know, maybe it's my minds way of trying to make sense of the voices... easier if they are known.

Are you certain it is that specific person? Although I guess with what you've said it might make more sense to be related to your childhood.

Oh, that must be awful if you're hearing the voice of your abuser.

I've been hearing whispering voices coming from the hum of the refrigerator. Before that, it was a male voice, loud,in my room. I kept trying to record it. My enemy downstairs has been trying to claim it, and he does sound like that voice I had for 7 years or more.

I'm on invega, and so far it's working better for me than the Abilify did. The two worst side effects is 1) my jaws clamp down involuntarily and I'm biting my tongue hard (afraid I'll bite it off) and Restless Leg that goes into my spine, too. I do have Cogentin but I need more. They're just maddening, these side effects. But other than that, it's good. I'm also on a very low dose of Prozac. Not sure anything is going on with that.

Are you going to your pdoc soon? They should be able to prescribe a med that will decrease the voice, if not completely get rid of it. So it will be easier to disregard it, if not ever hear it again.
Thanks for this!

Yeah I see him on the first of June. It's getting weirdly progressive. Like I heard my fridge slamming shut, water running in the bathroom sink, and I'm home alone. Me being illogical, I put a chair by the fridge door and closed the bathroom sink drain to see if catches any water. Neither.

Guess that voice was getting bored with trying to catch my attention. Real creative that B*****d.

Woah, I'd be terrified of that jaw locking. I imagine it happens at the worst times possible too, like when trying to eat. Restless legs, right now all of me is restless. I'll give my anxiety meds one thing, they can really knock you out.

I have a psychiatrist but I'm thinking it's time I get some therapy. I think all the abuse from my childhood won't stay in my mental box anymore. Door hinges just flat out failed.

Thanks for responding to me. I know nothing about this and finding out about the medications/side effects is a good way to be prepared for my appointment.

You're very welcome! I'm so sorry that hallucinations regarding your abuser are coming through now. The first of June isn't far away. Maybe make notes of everything that's been going on?They need to know in order to prescribe you an anti psychotic med. If it doesn't work (usually you should give it about a month to kick in before trying another one), they'll try a different one, etc.

But if you get severe side effects, let them know right away.

Yea, the jaw clamping is freaking me out a little because I don't want to switch meds again. I'm not sure if it has happened while I'm eating. Usually it happens if my face is frozen in a squinting face. I have to tell them about it I guess.

So write down every type of hallucinations you have, and whether it comes out of nowhere, or in a machine or running water hum. I never thought I'd get the type in a machine hum, but since some point last year I'm hearing my name called, etc, in it. It's still not as bad as the male voice that travelled with me for years. :/
Thanks for this!

My brain feels fuzzy I can't think properly. Can't make a decision I've been sat in my own head.
Went to the park but I shouldn't have. It was impulse.
I heard crows everywhere coming from the traffic. My eyes are dead.

Sometimes I feel like my eyes go dead when I'm so stressed and I'm avoiding my real life. It's like I suddenly refuse to see what's before me. I get stuck in daydreaming.

Lol, well there's dead, and there's dead. Your eyes aren't dead, only tunnel vision, maybe? Sometimes I wish I could be a horse, with blinders on. :/

That's true. It is very much like tunnel vision when you're a maladaptive daydreamer.

Oh God. I think I have invega overdose symptoms. My stomach hasn't felt this sick since 1994.

I decided I'd go on the dosing schedule my pdoc did instead of trusting the stupid hospital which had me taking the larger dose at night.

I've been getting increasingly severe RLS and body at night so I decided to start taking the larger dose in the morning. Trouble is, i took the larger amount last night and then again this morning. I don't know what's wrong with me, but maybe it's that.

My stomach is so horribly sick. Oh my God. I might have to go to the ER. I'm sick like deathly sick when the nausea comes in a wave. Even water is making me sick.

I took a hydroxyzine to see if it will decrease the nausea.

TMI alert for bathroom issues.

It might be related to the dosing change, but it could also be from digestive causes. In my intestines. My bathroom habits changed drastically when one of my meds started drying me out. Maybe the tizanidine, not sure.

Oh, no, it was the Cogentin that has been drying me out. Short term memory is crapping out - haha, nice to know something is.

Thanks. They were spaced roughly 12 hours apart. I'm already getting the killer RLS/restless body. I think the nausea is more related to the digestive differences and drying up from Cogentin.

I hadn't thought of that. I will have to try it, thank you. I do take hydroxyzine at night with my tizanadine. I'm not sure whether that helps or hurts.

So do you think I should skip the 3 mg tonight? In the last 12 to 14 hours I had 12 mg. Tonight will be closing that 24 hour period. It's probably safe to take the 3mg tablet later on.

I think it will be all right but if you're concerned can you call the prescribing doctor to confirm?

Maybe i could get the clinic to take a message, but I'm sure you're right. It will be a different 24 hour period after about 8:00pm, so I'm sure it's ok. The nausea did subside since I took 50mg of Hydroxyzine. That is a huge relief. Thanks.
