Nextus be careful with hydroxyzine and haldol sincr both can prolong QT interval and cause heart problems, taken together the risk is increased. It is not recommended to take more than 100mg a day of hydroxyzine even if you can take up to 300mg. Longer you take it higher the risk, and it is increased if you take an antypsychotic the t prolong qt interval too. Have you talked with your pdoc about these meds taken together?

I have stopped hydroxyzine for this reason and want to convince mynpdoc to give me prazosin for sleep and anxiery instead of hydroxyzine

Oh, it is a really low dose. Probably that is why your doctor didnt say anything.

Nithing to worry about but it is important to know it, once i increased the dosage because i was agitated and my heartg felt weird

I have a large pile of books that I wanted to read, that I've collected over the years. Unfortunately I struggle to read too. Just now is the first time I've managed to read an entire book for 2 years and I used to read voraciously before my brain F'd off. I started with an easy book.

Now I'm reading Sanity, Madness and the family by RD Laing. It's easier to read than his other books (I've tried A Divided Self but couldn't manage it) because lots of it is transcribed dialogue. It's kind of interesting, but there's also a lot of psychoanalytic BS. Eg a whole page of dialogue about nothing much and then he says that there's an incestuous undertone between the daughter and father. Apparently we're all sz because we (women) want to **** our fathers, and our dads want it too, and so our mothers hate us because of that... Um, maybe not Laing!! Oh and don't think you guys are excluded because it just works the other way around for you lot!

ETA: It's slow going though, but better than not reading at all.

I rarely post on FB and I have like 15 friends because I regularly go through and cull them. I refuse to use the messenger app though; don't trust it for some reason. I use FB to keep in touch with people who don't live in my city and to read articles like from IFLS and Mind/Rethink etc.

I don't think people should post their life story on FB because no one actually cares, but then I often think that in general too and I still post here sometimes so idk

I'm sorry you feel afraid. I hope it eases soon.

I forget, what sort of dogs do you have?

Good luck with food shopping. I hate doing it too :/

They're definitely watching you and writing it all down in the notes. Whether they're mind controlling you...well, my lot regularly try to read my mind, but I don't think they can actually control me. Either way, I wouldn't trust them one bit!

I went to a Pagan festival today and it was really cool.

Sometimes - I think you would've liked it because there were stalls selling pictures of animal totems burned into wood, and wands made of wood or crystals. They were really tactile and I kinda wanted one, but I didn't buy anything. The crystal wands had beautiful wire and beads wrapped around them too. While the wood ones were smooth and twisted. Both types were really beautiful. And loads of other cool things.

Then we went to a different festival that my sister wanted to go to (she was v bored at the Pagan festival and kept making fun of everybody), which was basically a fun fair by the river. It assalted my senses with all the people and noise and flashing lights, but bits were ok. Though I lost my phone when I went on the waltzer (my favourite ride and the only one I go on) and had a MASSIVE panic! Not so much about the money as it's insured, but about how I would possibly cope at rehab without music, or my calendar and reminders to do things, or how I would contact my parents about arranging to go out etc. I'd be totally lost without it! But luckily someone working there found it and I got it back - PHEW!

I am exhausted now though. It was a busy day!

Hope everyone else had a good day too!

I have a bunch of wands, some made by me and some bought.

No pagan festivals in my local area. Maybe Christians ones that have pagan roots...

Some of the reviews I've read are really slating the portrayal of sz and MH treatments as inaccurate and/or offensive...how have you found it? Wondering whether it's worth buying or if the sz bit is going to irritate me if it's wrong... :/

Are you pagan then? That's a shame there's no pagan festivals near you. I don't really consider myself pagan, but I have a nature-based spirituality so there are a lot of similarities, and it was nice to spend some time around pagans. I found out about a group that meets monthly to listen to guest speakers so I might try that out too.

I'm really interested to hear about your wands! What kind of wands do you have? How did you make them? What do you use them for?

Well its a fantasy. As far as I know electricutions and cushion rooms are not used anymore but it seems fair to exaggerate because the story demands conflict to be resolved. Alyssas mother had to be put in danger for her to act urgently and find the wonderland.

Thats the far as I got. Im on page 75 and I love it so far.

Thanks Gr3tta! And congrats on surviving grocery shopping and locating some bok choy (I have no idea what that is! Lol)

They sound adorable, but I can't quite picture their mixes. Could you post a photo of them all??

By electrocutions, do you mean ECT? It is used in sz still but less commonly. It was listed on my Maudsley guidelines for treatment resistant sz who failed clozapine treatment... Idk about padded rooms...I think it may be a U.S. thing as it doesn't seem to still happen in the UK??

I'm glad you're enjoying it so far. Maybe you can give me a review when you've finished it so I know whether to buy it or not! Lol

Im also not really pagan or anything strictly defined. But there are lots of pagan elements in my world. My wands are used for invoking the gods and games, and protection from nasty spirits, and also they are decorative pieces...

I have one purely made out of rose quartz.
One handmade by one acquaintance, with more holistic approach, with appropriate wood, wire and crystals.
Also another holistic one but more professional, with chakra stones.
Two small wood ones I made, with carvings and runes.
And one large I made, wood, wire and quartz.

Im only familiar with Croatian MH system, where I live. From what I have read here on PC and news, we have fairly good approach to treating MI people. There was once incident with a girl that was held in a hospital to be cured from being a lesbian, but that was secretive and isolated case. I was in tears watching the documentary about her.

Ok, a two weeks or a little more, or maybe less, and I will remember to update you about the story...

I've heard/seen that Croatia is a very beautiful country. It's somewhere I've wanted to visit for a while now.

How do MH services work there?
