((((((LYN)))))) Honey, take the Xanax your T and doctor prescribed, please. It's supposed to "work by decreasing brain activity" and should help to turn off some of your panicky feelings.

Yes, it can be addictive ... especially when it is NOT taken as directed ... BUT you seem to have a healthy "hate" for it. IMHO, that's a big plus to taking any potentially addictive drug. I've been taking the same pain med, oxycodone, for over 20 years. I still hate it! I wouldn't take it if it didn't work so well and if I didn't need something to take the edge off so I could <u>function.</u> Hopefully, that's what the Xanax will do for YOU ... take the edge off so you can function better.

You're stronger than you think you are, Lyn. I see that even if you can't. Even when you're in pain, you're strong enough to be caring of others here. That's STRENGTH!

Take the edge off ... take the Xanax. Please.

GoodMama

i just wanted to let you know that i did get grounded... and was able to sleep a few minutes...helped a lot... i feel bad that i keep freaking out... my ptsd symptoms really flared up over christmas... i am usually not such a mess multiple triggers, si and abuse. need help
it isn't so much that xanax is addictive as i really hate the way it makes me feel when i take it... i am only taking half of a .25 and sometimes i even cut it to a quarter...it just really makes me feel numb... lol... i do see the irony in that... and i am fighting to keep from that place.

Lynda, just keep on taking care of yourself. Thanks for supporting everyone else here too. Remember you've always got us. And you made it through another Christmas. The more you cope, the better it gets.

lyn - maybe it is an "in time" thing... that the zanax may eventually ellevate you to a place where you won't have to SI? I finally told my dr i SI and she did start talk about medicine for it - she's not one for medicine so i was pretty surprised.
