after a day of relative peace... i just had a really bad panic attack... and i am really struggling with the urge to cut... i have a doctors appointment at 8:30 in the morning so cutting might not be too wise.

Hey,

Sometimes, subconsciously, trying to end your life is the only way you feel you can deal with stress, trust me I just found out I have a few things wrong with me. At first I thought that it was just a wierd personality that I had. Just remember that there are people willing to talk to you. There are counselors and social workers at school and there are therapists. One thing that you should never forget is that even though you might feel like a person would not want to help, the truth is they would help you if you told them. Feel free to talk any time.

Roman... Ty... when i cut it isn't to end my life... sometimes in a really warped way it helps me from getting to that place... last night i just got really triggered and when i do that the urge to Si gets the best of me...you are right sometimes it feels like the only way to deal with the stress is to cut (but last night it wasn't suicidal just self destructive trying to get grounded) .... lyn

Glad the doctors appt went well and you were able to resist. trying to get grounded

To ground myself, I usually listen to music, or try to visualize and remember the sights/smells/sounds/tastes/feelings of a happy memory.

Oh, how I ever know. I forget to take my meds a lot of the time too... if I wake up in the PM I just say "to heck with it" and don't take them for the day. trying to get grounded Not smart, but it's my attempt to rebel against meds I don't like being on - even if my pdoc is great, and my mood swings are manageable and life is easier on ADs. (sighs)

What is normal? I heard it's the majority group... and since more and more people are taking drugs for things, I think we're the normal ones, and the "drug free, therapy free" people are nuts or in a severe case of denial. (Don't hurt me! I think it's amusing, even if it may not be true!)
