Today I went to see my OB/GYN for a follow up appointment. I left 3 hours after my appointment time. Although I had the first appointment after lunch, he had to leave to go deliver a baby so I went and ate and came back and waited some more (total wait time about 2.5 hours).
When he (finally!) came into the room, I said "welcome back."
He got the biggest grin and said "you just turned my whole day around."
I said, "It sounds like you're kinda having a rough day."
He said, "I've had the worst month!" and pulled up a stool and told me all about it (with me still sitting there with no pants under a paper sheet ) He ended with "you are wonderful, you're the kind of patient that makes doing this worthwhile."

Wow! All I said was welcome back and I listened and what an amazing impact.

I also went to rehearsals. I talked honestly with my mom and told her my T said I have to buy new clothes (ones that fit) to help with my self-esteem. She offered me her credit card to go shopping and I went and got it. I also picked up her prescriptions (and mine). It was a good day :-)

Today I'm going to do:

3 mile walk to McDonald's (again, I did it Wednesday also) for just a diet Coke. On W I had an ice cream cone and a small coffee.

Work more in the yard yesterday I did work 4 hours on my huge project.

Drink a protein drink to give me lots of good energy without too much "prep" involved

Go grocery shopping after hubby gets home and do budget with him.

Yay beholden - 3 miles is a long walk for a diet coke!

I got a massage, went shopping. Bought 3 pairs of workout/jammy pants that fit right, 2 tank tops, a pair of shorts, and a pair of jeans. Went to a mary kay party...bought the right skincare regimen and correct makeup colors. Went to rehearsal and didn't loose my cool; in fact tried to help others be happier. It's tech week. We open Friday. Everyone's stressed. Came home and ate but stayed up too late. Rehearsals in 10 hours..

kitty, I'm jealous because you got a massage! When I hit my goal weight I'm getting one too. Soon!

Today I made 2 big batches of soup. One Lentil and one split pea. I have the third one ready to 'finish' cooking tomorrow. I didn't read the entire recipe for the White Chicken Chili and I started putting it all together when I saw, 'soak the navy beans for 24 hours'....oh shot! But at least all the veggies are sliced and the chicken is cooked. Just have drain the beans, add them and cook for several hours!

I now have 4 ziplock containers of lentil soup and 6 of split pea in the freezer!
Thanks for this!

Sundog: Yay for getting housework done! It always makes me feel better - it's results you can see
Beholden: that's a lot of soup! Wow!

I would not miss my weekly massage Today I...well it started last night. I went to bed at 11:45 (instead of my usual 1-2 am) so I woke up at 11:30. This was awesome because it meant I had plenty of time to eat and gather my things to be at the theatre at 2. I was even early. I did my stage makeup while I was there...practice for later this week. I did get one personal note about the show it was kinda good...."You're doing it right - SMILE!" lol

When I left at 10 (yes 8 hours and two run-thoughs of the show later - hello tech-week) I checked my voicemail. I called my mother back. She had her friend's daughter staying with her and wanted me to bring a t-shirt for the girl who was unprepared for an overnight visit. I ran home and scooped up 3 t-shirts, a long sleeved layering shirt, a hoodie, 3 pairs of panties, and a pair of jammie pants from when I was "skinny" and took them over. The little girl did a happy dance.

I then left my mom's to get tylonol and took it back. Finally came home (midnight) ate, looked around here a bit... now I'm off to remove the makeup (a serious process) and go to bed. Sooo tired. It didn't really hit me until I sat down at my mom's.

Beholden - I want to sample those!!! LOL!! I have never had lentil soup, but I have a recipe for spicy lentil soup that I want to try, but I'm afraid I won't like it, and it makes a huge batch ..... we'll see!

I got much needed sleep today from my busy weekend. I was on the go so much that I dont feel like I had a weekend.

Tonight, I'm going to read from the new book I got, "$*!& my Dad Says" and have a cup of tea while doing so. I need the relaxation!!!

Missing-
Sorry you didn't get much of a rest this weekend. Glad you had a chance to make up for it... let us know how you like the book.

I worked on artwork all day long (but felt guilty for not getting out for much of a walk). I did go into town to buy some bathroom cleaner. Played with the cat. Tidied the kitchen and put dishes away. Had dinner ready for my partner when she got home.

Yummers to the soups!!! ((((Beholden))))) I am a huge fan of lentils! Especially the green ones. I love lentil soup and I love lentil salad too Bon appetit!!!!!

(((((MissingMyOldSelf))) I think I saw that book at the bookstore recently! It looked like it had some classics quotes in it!!! Hope you enjoy it!

((((((kitty))))))) Wow! You are so busy!!!! It's great! I bet you really need that weekly massage! Glad your rehearsals are going well! Yay!

(((((((Elana))))))) That's awesome you did some art work today. I wish I was creative like that!

I went on a great hike with my dogs today. The weather is beautiful here at the moment. It's warm and very sunny and clear. We hiked for several miles in my favorite regional park. It's wild and hilly with sweeping panoramic views, and there are endless trails and cattle graze there and there is lots of wildlife and, best of all, very few people!!!

The white beans chili was yummy for dinner last night! Full of fiber and good stuff! Now I have 3 more of the 4-cup size Ziplocks in my freezer for future use. No excuses to not have Healthy Soups for lunch or dinner now.

Today I ironed my DH pants and a shirt. I put the wet laundry in the dryer and will do more washing in a minute. House work to be done and a walk around noon before it starts to rain. I think I'll walk the 3 miles to and from McDonald's again. I need to keep moving. Depending on how cool it is, I'll either buy a coffee, diet coke or maybe a hot chocolate.

I have 6 more pounds to loose before I'm at my goal weight. Then I can schedule my massage.
Thanks for this!

I TOTALLY recommend that book!!! Every single night, I have tears streaming down my face because the dad reminds me so much of Red Foreman from "That 70's Show" that it's unbelievable. But fair warning - the language is pretty vulgar if you're not used to it!

I haven't done a thing today And I kinda like it!

I went to job club even though I wasn't feeling great, and made some one smile.
I washed and combed my daughter's hair again to get rid of lice.
I bought 3 gallons of milk for the family.

I called my doctor's office about a insurance mess and left a message (no return call of course). I curled my hair and did my makeup for rehearsals tonight - lots of compliments :-) and I smiled during the tap (although I was concentrating on smiling so hard I forgot to move my feet...oops!).

Yay!! I love reading these!!

Today I agreed to do something on Saturday that I don't want to do and typically avoid doing because it is quite a ways outside my comfort zone!!! But I know it will be good for me to do it, and it will also help the person who asked me to do it!!

Good for you all for what you have done right!

Moving out of your comfort zone is hard to do! Doing nothing is great too - we all need some down time to just do nothing Hope the head lice situation is getting better...my daughter's daughter had them in September when I was visiting them...what a time consumer it is to Nit Pick, literally.

Y'all sound like you are happy about what you are doing.

Today I took DH to work so I can keep the shared car. I need to walk today so I'll go to the mall and do a few hours. I'll go to the post office to mail a box to my sister with homemade key lime cookies and handknit dishcloths and books. And go to the library and then pick up a few things I need from the grocery store.

Right now when I'm done talking with all my PC friends, I'll do my weekly menu and grocery list.

I've started doing this just last week. It is part of my plan for getting and staying healthy! One of the new recomendations from this months weight maintenance class is to write down "what I did right" (can you believe that one???? Whoa) with watching/planning/doing/writing down my healthy eatting choices and healthy activities.

This thread is really the best for seeing we do do right stuff every day!

I replied to an email that I have been procrastinating about replying to (I don't know why!). I've been worrying about procrastinating about it and this morning I just went ahead and replied to it! It only took about 10 minutes, and it feels really good to have finally struck this off my "To Do" list!!!!

I took care of some of my magazine pile (that's about 400 strong, and 3-3 ft tall stacks), and cut up the food and recipe ones today and put those in my recipe box. Every single magazine that's gone makes me happy!!

I made it a point to thank the people I dealt with today for helping me, at the doctor's office, at the pharmacy, on the telephone, and my oldest son for helping the other two.

I realized that I am not always right, that I need to be more forgiving of others if I want to improve the quality of my life & the lives of those around me.

I bought myself a birthday cake for tomorrow.

I took the time to test out of a developmental class for college, which allowed me to register for classes that will count toward my major. Also, I was able to get my schedule together for next semester. Not only did I do something right, but I also gave myself something to look forward to, yay!

I didn't go off on the coworkers on the other side of the room who said that those of us who didn't want to participate in the Thanksgiving Carry in were "sabotaging" it.

Normally, I would have gone off, and more than likely made some people cry, and then gotten fired LOL But today, I'm keeping to myself, put my earphones on, turned up Five Finger Death Punch and I'm listening to loud, rawkin music that makes me feel a LOT better.
