Well done!!! (((((((Beholden))))) and ((((((((Sunsetsunrise)))))))

My do-right is that even though I got depressed today, I wasn't a PITA about it the way I have been in the past (or at least, I was less of a PITA today!!!!)

Hugs to all

I helped my neighbor who is having a hard time. Her water pipes broke and she has no water now for several weeks. I told her to bring her laundry over and I did all her laundry while she worked with the guys to help replace the pipes.

Ate leftovers and went to Joann Fabrics great sale for a few pieces of fabric to make a Christmas "quillo" for my couch. The wait to get the fabric cut was about 45 minutes and the wait to get checked out was also about 45 minutes. I got a few good buys!

Another successful show down :-) And I went and got my grandma and my mom's goddaughter and took them to my mom's house to eat.

Only 1 skinny piece of crustless pie left and I'm not eatting it!

I walked Jack for a mile tonight for his last walk. He is such a good dog.

Oh, and I also brushed him again today. He loves it. He loves any human touch. And he loves his new doggie bed DH got him Black Friday.

We have started to train him to go in his crate. I don't want to force him into any sort of cage until he is ready to do it himself. He was caged at the shelter, even though they were good to him there, he didn't want to go into our dog crate yet.

I put a dog treat frosted with peanut butter just inside the door. He carefully went in to get it. Next treat I put in closer to the middle of the crate. He got it. Next time at the back of the crate! Next time I put some of his moist dog food along the back of the crate. Soon I will put his food dish inside so he can eat there. At least that is what the people at the shelter said works. I want him to be safe when we have to leave him alone and not get into any trouble!
Thanks for this!

You are doing sooooo great with Jack!!! (((((((((((((Beholden))))))))))) It really warms my heart to hear about this dear boy and his new life with your family

I got a lot done at work today. Being productive at work makes me feel good. But I know I'm also hiding behind work and using work as an excuse not to do other things. But this is a thread about doing stuff right, so I'll try not to dwell on that last bit!!!

Hugs to all

I got up early and went to a meeting, I assisted with tours of the theatre.

I did not have a panic attack onstage when the show fell apart during the opening dance number Although I did take some anxiety medicine when I came offstage. I remained positive and when hushing all the negativity wasn't working I left the dressing room. I did not flip out when we found out half way through intermission people's wireless microphones were still on when we were outside smoking. I went to the cast party and had fun.

That's great!!!!! (((((((((kitty))))))) and ((((((amberstar)))))))

I went on long hike with my doggies this afternoon. It's cold here at the moment, but very sunny and clear. It's invigorating and it feels good to be exercising outdoors!

I woke up and said I am going to have a good day today. I refuse to let anything get to me. I called a friend I haven't spoken to in a while because we had a fight. I made things right again

Kitty and Skully, I am so impressed reading what you each wrote.
Today I called the tire place to try to appeal to their softer selves. During this time of year there is a rush to change over the tires to winter ones. So the cut off for bringing in the car is often 10am. They shuttle people to wherever they need to go for the day and then the people can pick up their car in the afternoon or evening when its done.

Thats just plain too early for me. I do not know what posessed me to call them but I called at 1:15 and they told me to come right in. Okay, I was not showered. Nor were my tires in my car. But I raced to get there. And viola, my winter studded tires are on. whewwww. Its not easy for me to get up the momentum to do that.

I also hung on my front door my christmas wreath that I wound with 200 clear lights. I connected it with a cord and voila. I am now lit, and non skid

I went to the pet store today for a new dog bed. I spotted one that was perfect and when I was at the register I thought, I'll just ask if there are any discounts on dog beds right now, and the guy gave me 25% off!!! Score!!!

I started the dishwasher! Everyone else did so much more than I did today! Way to go gang! I laughed about the garage having a floor, I don't think ours does.

I sewed a little bit, with trusty Jack right there next to me.

Yesterday we had to both leave the house, DH was not wanting to leave Jack out in the open inside the house, so he MADE him go into his crate. He put up an attitude about not wanting to go inside it.

I thought things were ok, because Jack didn't yelp or bark. But when I got back home after about 2 hours, Jack had really been anxious. He'd pooped in the cage and the pad was all really a mess. Then when I offered him a treat with peanut butter on it, he wouldn't take it.

He is back eatting his treats now, but it is starting all over on the crate. I have to leave the house again on Thursday and he will have to be left alone.

I hope he does ok without being in his crate. Don't know if I will put him in it or not???????

I did do a do right today...I brushed Jack really good. I kept smelling what I thought was poo...he had some that dried in his big bushy tail from yesterday's ordeal. It's all better now! and no more smelly dog. I just couldn't figure out where that odor was coming from! A little poo goes a long way!
Thanks for this!

Awww. I'm sorry Jack got so scared. Poor boy I know you've been working hard to get him used to the crate. Perhaps he has some separation anxiety too? I have never used a crate with any of my dogs so I don't have any tips about that. Are you concerned that he will be destructive in some way if you leave him alone in the house? Perhaps there is a way to test the waters by just going away for a very short time and seeing what happens?? And if it goes well, you could build up to leaving him on his own in the house for a longer time? Kind of like "exposure/de-sensitization therapy" for humans!!! I hope it works out ok!
