Vents are necessary and this is the only way to explain it by being more direct with my venting.... Venting is my thing.
Why do people think our mental health problems are just our “perpetual victimhood”? I stumbled upon a social media post claiming that people with mental disorders are “perpetuating victimhoods” and want to “hide from the brutal truth”. Apparently the “brutal truth” is that we are too lazy to improve ourselves and playing victim as an excuse for our laziness. Honestly I’m really tired of hearing the same s*** going how we just have a victim mentality and being lazy. Will this ever stop? Last edited by bluekoi; Nov 28, 2024 at 11:34 AM. I also limit my social media interaction. I stopped reading Twitter and Instagram a few months ago, and I feel so much better for it. I dip in and out of Facebook, but it’s mostly a den of shallowness and iniquity that I deactivate for periods of time. When I do post on there I try to make it positive, and it’s mostly just a photo I’ve taken from when I’m out walking or cycling - trying to share some happiness. |

I think it's just the opinion of a person who knows nothing about life and has never been in a situation like people struggling with mental issues. I created twitter for this, to write about myself and keep my head safe, but now I am reading, which makes me sad. Thinking of returning to a paper diary.
My own father, who didn't live with us—and now I understand why—told me that my problems were all made up and that hard work would fix me. Ignorance people happen and they will never end. |

[QUOTE=NovaBlaze;7456414]I’ve read that writing things down that you are worried or angry about is a great help. I guess venting is just a form of this? Does it work @Cantholdmyrage? Do you feel better? [QUOTE=NovaBlaze;7456414]
Honestly, it doesn’t make me feel entirely better, it only releases some of the stress I have toward specific topics that are on my mind at the moment. |

How is it the lady’s fault for not even knowing she was allergic to mushrooms?
https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmTheMainC...its_still_her/ The people bashing on the lady for not even knowing what’s in her food is absurd. Last edited by bluekoi; Dec 02, 2024 at 12:02 PM. Reason: Move post to Venting thread. |

Had an argument with a guy who blew up on me for answering his questions
I was discussing online with several people regarding an incident with a lady who had an allergic reaction and the people were saying it was her fault. I on the other hand, believed it wasn’t. Then one guy came up to me and asked me a question regarding the situation and wanted my opinion on it. He said: “what would you have preferred happened in this situation with this woman?” My reply was: “I just wish people would stop bashing on the lady and claiming her allergies are her responsibility even though she didn’t even know she had it.” A little peeved, the guy replied: “I mean at the restaurant.” I replied to him immediately: “I wish the server wasn’t so disrespectful to the lady and unnecessarily blaming her for not being aware of having allergies.” The guy replied to me, sounding like he was trying not to flip: “I was ready to jump on and say that she needs to be responsible for herself, but if she doesn’t even know she has allergies, then it’s really not her fault. It’s really no one’s’ fault, and at the very least, I agree, the server could have some compassion. I’m sure the server felt defensive and afraid they were gonna get blamed, but we need to be humans with each other first and foremost. No amount of food labeling or communication with wait staff would have helped if she didn’t know she was allergic to mushrooms.” My reply was: “Even if she did know, how would she know if there were mushrooms mixed into her food if they didn’t flat out state how they would use their ingredients? You can’t see everything that’s contained in the meal based on the pictures you see. That’s how I realized I had an allergic reaction to pecans.” Just then, people started to boo at me. The guy responded: “So then if she did know she was allergic to mushrooms, how would you have liked it to be handled at the restaurant? With every ingredient listed on the menu?” Some of the people who supported him were like “ooh! got ‘er!””. But I wasn’t finished yet. My reply was: “She would have a much easier time avoiding the food if she found certain ingredients she’s allergic to, and the situation wouldn’t have happened.” Of course, I got booed at again. The guy suddenly blew up on me and said: “I’m not trying to be a d*** here, but, is that a yes? You’d like menus to list every ingredient?” I replied: “It’s the only way to avoid these situations. People are going to find out anyway through the internet. Why do you have a problem with it? Oh that’s right, because you were the one who asked these questions to me and got offended when I gave you my thoughts.” The others were very angry and said nasty things at me. I replied: “And by the way you and your friends act to disagreements, it’s obvious we’re never going to make a reasonable discussion. You’re willing to s*** on a woman for having allergies like it’s her fault all while excusing the behavior of obnoxious employees, yet she’s still the bad guy? We’re done here.” I cut off contact with these people and went my way. Last edited by bluekoi; Dec 03, 2024 at 12:03 PM. Reason: Move post to Venting thread. |

I’m tired of people undermining period pains and claiming there are worse pains
https://www.reddit.com/r/badwomensan...ometriosis_is/ This is the link above which i have now deleted. The comments there are insufferable as they completely miss my point. Then claiming that endo pain is worse and “doesn’t invalidate regular periods”. These idiots also think that I’m “normalizing pain and suffering”. Also them undermining periods in general, and telling me to do research and “reread the article”. The denial and gaslighting is infuriating. Rant over. |

I was bullied by many users on Reddit and even harassed as well. Even all of them said there was no stalking or harassing involved as they apparently have the right to look through my profile page.
They kept on saying that to justify their bullying all while denying it ever happening. Here are the links and all the things they said about me: https://www.reddit.com/r/NotHowGirls...e_rape_you_to/ https://www.reddit.com/r/gatekeeping...st_history_to/ They claimed I was having a victim mentality and constantly crying over negative attention. They even said I was a crybaby loser, all while painting me as a villain. They undermine my feelings and problems all while portraying themselves as the heroes. |

People think I’m so weird because I bring up conversations that are months to years old and they get mad and make fun of me and call me names.
They call me “attention seeking”, “drama hungry”, a loser, “too sensitive”, etc. They think everything I do and say causes problems for them, and it makes me feel horrible about myself. What’s worse is that they try to reassure that they don’t hate me yet they act so passive aggressive and ignorant to me that it makes me think otherwise. They’re also hypocrites, they justify all the things I do that make them uncomfortable, yet when I do the same, they don’t like it and they’ll tell me to get therapy or get a life or stop getting so offended all the time. Here are the responses they gave me: “Why are you dredging on for us? Time and place matters. Even if they choose to ignore you, you’re still notifying them and you’re dragging them back into things they don’t want to be in.” “Time and place are also context though. You could roughly define context as everything that's relevant to the thing you're talking about. An active discussion that's fresh on people's minds is more relevant than a long dead discussion that people probably already forgot. The purposes of responding with a comment to something are mainly either 1 to inform someone of something (sharing information) 2 to give your opinion and get responses from others 3 ask someone something or get someone to engage with you For 1, if it is regarding an opinion, there is usually no need to inform someone of something unless the information is objective. For 2, if a post is long dead then you will have very very few people actually seeing the post so it's kind of pointless For 3, if it has indeed been months or even years then the person will likely have forgotten whatever they wrote about or they will view the topic as irrelevant because they have long moved on and again it is pointless” “Get a journal. Or start a podcast or a blog or something. If you need to spill yourself into other people's spaces, you gotta be prepared that they ain't gonna want to entertain whatever it is you're bothered by. Because now THEY are bothered. And they need to spill it back at you, same way you do.” “You sort of made it our business when you posted this.” |

Why I’ll Never Buy a Funko Pop Vinyl Figure (By A Compulsive Collector) | Funk's House of Geekery
Wtf did I just read?! Good god! “Pop Vinyl does the same thing, claiming that every product is a ‘collectable’ and citing limited copies and special editions. Aside from the conventions exclusives, the implication is again that they ship in limited numbers. The reality is that they get shipped to retailers in lots of 36, so that each of the thousands and thousands of stores stocking these damned things are going to have a decent number of each available. Why do you think there are always a whole wall of them?” You can’t just compare Funko pops with comic books because they are not the same type of collectible. Also you are in no place to tell anyone what is a collectible and what isn’t. You do realize there are about 7 billion of us in the planet and some of us don’t want to spend a lot of money that we worked hard to pay our bills with. And here you are rambling your privileged white *** off how they don’t offer anything just because you don’t like them. “Funko takes the fun out of collecting by creating a fake collectors market for profit. They’re not making these out of passion for the medium or for the artistry of creation, it’s only about the bank balance.” Do you not understand the hypocrisy you’re spewing out? You’re claiming that Funko is making “fake” and its only purpose is for marketing profit, yet you worship action figures and comic books, not realizing that they too are for profit. Why do you think they make this crap? Everything is made for profit! “I like to complete a set. It’s the most satisfying part of collecting. You get the last, rare item, add it to the display and look for the next challenge. But you will never be able to complete a set of Pop Vinyls because they are endless. They release more and more every month.” So what?! Who cares if you’re a collector?! I’m a collector myself but you don’t see me complain about how everything is fake and just for profit! What is it with white people and their obsession with “challenges”? Again, you fail to understand that you cannot compare Funko pops with comic books. They don’t have the same marketing tactics. Also, why do you think comic books aren’t released monthly? Because they are! “Sure, you can find expensive, ‘rare’ Pop Vinyls on ebay. And maybe you’ve got one that might fetch you $30 if you sold it. But don’t believe the myth that buying them is going to be an investment. They’re not going to increase in value as time goes on and the number of buyers is going to go down. That’s because they are going to keep making more and more sets every year and everyone is going to get bored.” Lol what a joke! You seriously think rare Funko pops are cheap compared to action figures and comic books? Think again! There are plenty, and I mean PLENTY of Funko figures that sell for at least hundreds of dollars! How can you STILL say that Funko isn’t an investment because from how their vintage figures sell, especially if it’s from Star Wars, it sure as hell is! Here we have some random white dude who made this ignorant post back in 2016 thinking Funko’s the equivalent to the comic book industry, lol! More and more sets every year, and everyone will get bored? Lol gimme a break! Funko pops are still being made today and have become MORE POPULAR ever since. If you hate Funko pops that much, that’s on you. “We know this is going to happen because it happened 20 years ago with Beanie Babies. People, some smart people with a history of making good investments, bought them up as they were marketed as ‘collectables’. Suddenly the bubble burst, interest dried up and nobody would buy them. Some could argue that they’re still rare and worth something for that, but you’d be pressed to find a buyer. At best you’ll end up an online joke like the divorcing couple who had to be supervised by a judge while they sat on the courtroom floor and divided up their Beanie Baby collection.” There are several contradictions I like to point out. First of all, Beanie babies did not discontinue by the end of the 90’s, and they certainly did not discontinue them because “no one would buy them”. They discontinued because of the 2008 recession, and the majority of consumers were in poverty. Second, the reason is not because no one “wanted” to buy them, it’s because they COULDN’T buy them! Again 2008 recession. Also learn grammar! Pressed to find a buyer? Bro please! There’s a reason why Beanie babies are still worth buying and profitable today. Because we 90’s and 2000’s kids grew up to love them and play with them (more on that later) and we now buy them for the sake of nostalgia. And third, Funko pops were already heavily ridiculed right from the very beginning, and it’s all thanks to the internet. So what point are you even trying to make? “When you grow bored with your collectable misshapen figures you’re going to have two options: pack them up in a box and let them gather dust dreaming of the day they’re worth selling again, or chucking them into the bin where they will add to the ever-increasing landfills of the world.” Misshapen? What did you do, rip their heads off like you would with your sister’s Barbie dolls? Dude, if you hate Funko pops that much, just say you do! It’s that simple! “Call me crazy, but I prefer collectables that do something. I have a huge collection of cards for Marvel Legendary but they make up a really awesome deck-building board game I play with friends. Lego bought for a collection of Lego Dimension figurines can be passed on the younger generation to add to their Lego cities. Even those ‘collectable’ Marvel comics we mentioned earlier can be read, or carries some artistic merit (not X-Force #1, obviously – it’s drawn by Rob Liefeld). Pop Vinyls do less than nothing. They take up shelf space and gather dust. I’m not going to argue that my Arkham action figures do much more, but at least they’re posable or could be played with. Pop Vinyls aren’t in any way articulate. I also have a couple of statuettes of Harley Quinn, my favourite villain, that just sit on the shelf and gather dust, but there’s something that separates them from Pop Vinyls…” Blah blah blah, we get it! You like Marvel and Lego… so what’s new? And if Funko pops do “less than nothing”, then why are they still popular? Why does it matter to you so much that figures have to be “posable” in order for them to be good? I know plenty of collectibles that don’t do **** and yet they can still be fun to play with. Do you know why? Because they’re TOYS! Toys don’t need to be “posable” to be fun, and all toys have one purpose: to be played with! Why do you think they’re still being made? Because consumers will buy them for their kids (or even themselves) to play with. Funko pops are toys, just like action figures! They are meant to be played with! Just because they aren’t articulate doesn’t mean they’re useless. Also that last couple of sentences you just rambled out isn’t anything special. For God’s sake, just tell us all you hate Funko pops! I beg of you! “Now this is going to be subject to personal opinion – but they are damned ugly. They’re squat, misshapen, expressionless dead-eyed lumps of plastic. The assumption is that the giant head and big eyes make them cute, but they’re not. The limited appeal might be seeing certain characters like Walter White or Superman reduced to this state, but the novelty wears off after a billion iterations of the same thing.” You do realize that Funko pops are SUPPOSED to look like that, right? Also other figures of super famous characters are made in hundreds to thousands, right? You’re making absolutely no sense in your argument. You think they’re ugly and misshapen? Who cares? I think you’re stupid and sound like a four year old throwing a tantrum over how they didn’t get the right toy for Christmas. Also ALL toys are made of plastic, hypocrite! Personally, I’d rather look at the “expressionless, ugly, dead eyes” and “misshapen head” of a Funko pop than see your hideous greasy acne-filled plaque of a face any day! “to one of the aforementioned and poorly photographed Harley Quinn statues, which is an artistically designed figure made in porcelain that captures the personality of the character.” Are you f***ing serious?! You’re comparing the very first model that Funko made of Harley Quinn to how she looks like in the show? Bro, Funko pops are SUPPOSED to look like that! You can find many newer figures of her and other characters that reflect more on their personalities based on their poses. Your obsession with perfection is absorb and you need to get a life! “It may cost more, but it stands out because there aren’t tens of thousands of copies in homes and shops across the world. And it looks good. If I’m going to have something that sits next to my comic collection and does nothing, I’d much rather this. It’s been on display in this house for years, and will continue to be here whilst Pop Vinyls all end up like this: (Insert picture of truck dumping loads of garbage in landfills)” Your first sentence screams of white privilege. You are disregarding fans of color and in poverty that are unable to afford more expensive figures all while you worship them because to you they look “good”. All you’re doing is whining and complaining about a bunch of toys made in a way that you don’t like all while ignoring the purpose of how a Funko pop is made. You can have your little fetish dreams about destroying every Funko pop and throwing them in the garbage “where they belong”, but let me rain on your parade for a moment: they’re not going away anytime soon. No matter how much you hate them with a passion. It’s never going to happen. It’s also funny how you use an image of a garbage landfill, when all I’m seeing is that it perfectly describes you. End of commentary. |

https://www.reddit.com/r/Feminism/co...rs_to_silence/ https://www.reddit.com/r/SwiftlyNeut..._lot_of_white/ I don’t understand the mentality of this. Now before I get started, please note I’m not talking about the women who use their tears to weaponize racism against people of color. I’m specifically talking about women who dare to say or feel something, and men call it “white woman tears”. When I hear a man (especially a white man) complain about “white woman/girl tears”, I can’t help but cringe. Here are a few reasons why I find it cringeworthy: 1. If you’re referring to white tears, why does it always have to refer to women? Men weaponize their tears to justify bigotry too. I always hear “white woman tears” and “white girl tears” but barely the other way around. 2. The term is typically appropriated by men, especially white men who don’t experience racism and aren’t educated about it. What was used to describe racism is now an excuse to justify bigotry because of one’s partial privilege. 3. Speaking of privilege, it is just a way for people on the highest social ladder to demonize those who intersect with both privilege and oppression. Specifically when men want to justify their hatred of women, they would add either “rich” or “white” to supposedly tone down their misogyny. Honestly, any other way just makes no sense. Or maybe I’m the only one who sees this. I dunno. |

https://www.reddit.com/r/CPTSD/comme...t_weak_people/ “The person right now that I'm thinking of is a 6. She's taking my job over in a month, and I'm trying to transition her into it. She *knows* what she needs to do, and she's more than capable of it, but she acts all simpering and hesitant, asking everyone for approval when we're in meetings that she's supposed to be taking control of. Big fake smile on her face. Only answers questions with a yes or no, when usually she shoots her mouth off and you can't shut her up. Arrrrgh. We've talked about it more than once and she says, "I know, I know," but it doesn't change. ...She called me while I was writing this, and keeps talking to me about her "concerns" with the company. I said okay if you have concerns, what do you do about them. She said "nothing." ...She's now telling me all the reasons why they aren't *really* concerns, even though she called them concerns. So, update on the rest of the call, which LASTED OVER AN HOUR. (Ugh, so inefficient.) She was, as suspected, talking around taking ownership of a few things. I told her that I worry because I care about the company, and I think those things still need to be done after I'm gone. She does a bunch of mental gymnastics to avoid talking about it. (TBF I think the avoidance method was unconcious.) I figure out she either can't or won't do those things (which are "intellectual labor" as opposed to assigned tasks) and talk to her about alternatives. I move in to fix-it-mode. I say, after I'm gone I want to make sure someone's doing X Y and Z, and it's okay if the dynamic changes, so perhaps this is something you can lean on Manager1 and Manager2 on? She jumps on that. I explain the consequences of that, which is mainly losing control of a bunch of things (if someone wants details I can explain, but I'll spare you for now), and ding-ding-ding I realize I have to give that up, and of course things will change when I'm gone. I also feel like they’re trying to emotionally manipulate me with all of their background info and sob stories. I get it, just tell me straight what you want. It enrages me when people complain about their situation w/o doing anything about it or if they were the one to put themselves into it in the first place. As well as self depricate and let people walk all over them.“ I find it sickening when people are so unsympathetic to those that they deem “weak” and go screaming “omg shut up with your complaining and do something about it”. It’s absolutely disrespectful to those who have suffered with trauma and your lack of empathy is not helping at all. They think they’re better because they’re “problem solvers” and if others don’t think like them, apparently they’re the problem. They don’t seem to understand that some of us have a much tougher time developing our own capabilities and struggle with our own confidence hence why we appear to fall behind. We may also be struggling due to facing trauma at one point in our lives. Just because we look “weak” to you doesn’t mean we’re less human. |

“People don't really care. People have never really cared. In the same way, no one cares about body shaming when it comes to men. Or sexual assault when it comes to men. Ridiculing men due to their finances. Mocking men for not having sexual partners. Dismissing men with mental health issues or how people don't care about men being isolated and lonely. As a man, that's a quite narrow window of what you have to be. If you fail to meet that window, you're not worth acknowledging. Nobody cares what happens to you unless they stand to be impacted in some way. The best advice men could have is that no one cares about them unless they're getting something from them. It's brutal, but so is life.” “Because women enjoy the illusion that they can't really hurt a man. If it wasn't for things like playing it up for laughs people actually take women who abuse men seriously and they don't want that.” “having a knife does not make you immune from stab wounds. Strength and durability are two different things, and it is much easier to inflict harm than to shrug it off. A guy could harm a woman, but that does not in any way mean that she couldn't harm him if she put more than the bare minimum effort in.” “Given men's suicide rate goes from 3x women's average to 9x women's average post-divorcre, there are a number of ways women can very seriously harm men without ever touching him. If you think the only way to harm someone is by physically hurting them, allow me to introduce you to the wonderful world of emotional abuse, as well as the fact that in Canada more than half of all domestic abuse victims are men. It's kinds funny women say they're always afraid men will beat them to death, and overwhelmingly in domestic abuse its women initiating violence, and women committing the majority of unidirectional violence. Just a moment... “When men speak up about being assaulted by a woman one of first things they get told is some form of "How? A woman can't really hurt a man. Look at the physical difference". It's similar to why people can think of a million ways a man could rape a woman but bring up a woman raping a man and all of a sudden no one can think of how that's possible because "a woman can't overpower a man". So yea it's an illusion that people benefit from want to maintain.” That is a lot of words for “women are evil and they must all die”. |
