got cellulitis from a fire ant bite on my fore arm.I went to a walk in clinic and got put on antibiotics and bactroban ointment 3 times a day. already took 2 doses. I am to use warm compresses 4 times a day. I used the moist heating pad tonight which worked like a charm though the rest of my arm is red from the heating pad. Jeff bought it for my neck and I have been using it on my back and it feels so good. You just heated it up in the microwave, 1min20seconds. the when it cools down I reheated it again, some how it produces a moist heat. It is a mystery to me. You don't get it wet. It creates its own moisture.
I am supposed to use warm moist compresses 3-4 times a day, which means I need to come home at lunch time to do the heating pad..
So get up early and do it then. 7;30, 12 :20, 5pm then 11pm
my friend gave me some skin care products that she uses which was really sweet of her but I used the cleanser and the mask and was oily one hour later. it is for dry sensitive skin. I have rosacea and hate to switch up my routine,. she said she thought the benzoperoxide was causing my face to be ruddy.
I agreed to have kelly do some procedure on my face will have that done when we get home from our trip the end of the month. It is a BBL, and she has to numb my face before she does it. She said it will lighten my face particularly my nose.I a little scared as i don't know what to expect. I am a wimp when it comes to pain.

Bizi,

I'm sorry you had the bad drinking episode. I'm really struggling with staying sober too at the moment, although my drinking is deliberately limited.

Maybe we both need to work on accepting that we simply can't drink and focus on staying sober.

Jeff is a good man. Thank you for saying that. I apologized to him about him having to take care of me and ruined his evening too.
The swelling has gone down on my cellulitis but the redness is still there though not as much. I am using the bactroban 3 times a day and hot moist heating pad 3-4 times a day as instructed. Will do it again this evening before bed
I got a new electric tooth brush and got the kind oral b with a rotating head and an extension so there is more area that it brushes..hard to explain. the first one I did not like because it was too small and I could only put a small amount of tooth paste.
Since I have been on this diet I am hungry. I see Dr. Orazio my pdoc next week, she will be very disappointed that I have not lost weight since I have seen her and gained weight, which I am upset about too.
When I drink I gain weight.

It is as simple as that.

What is it going to take to stop drinking?

I didn't think you Southern Belles ever gave up against adversity ? Perhaps you just need a little time to regain your strength.
It's easy to see anything less than total victory as failure , but that isn't true . Every win you have is a good thing.

I was alcohol free monday thru thursday then tonight I stopped at 20 oz of beer, after work at fat pats. Did not drink any rum tonight though I could have.
I am really going to moderate my drinking....think I will throw out the rest of the rum.

hubby helped a lot!Bizi's thread:
He cleaned parts of the house when I was working yesterday,

he even cleaned my bath room floor!Bizi's thread:
He cut up all of the meat for the gumbo which was a big job

and enormous help to me.

We had a good time. (and the house is cleaner)

The gumbo came out great and there were 10 of us, plenty with left overs.
Some one brought a green salad and potato salad for the gumbo, we put this in to the gumbo as we eat it!
Wonder how other gumbos are made?
I had 3 beers over the course of 4 hours, I am happy with this.
I call this moderation.

our latest meal plan comes today! Wonder what we have for dinner tonight? I can't remember what I ordered. We cook together, no alcohol for me. Hubby drinks but not to excess like me.

our choices were steak, pork or chicken
We chose the Montreal shaved steak hash.
It had 10 items: shaved sirloin steak, montreal spice blend, lemon-garlic crema( which was a dressing), butternut squash, Kale, grape tomatoes, yellow onions, apple cider vinegar, pecans, green onions.
the montreal spice blend featured paprika, coriander, celery seed and dried mustard.
All of the produce is organic which we like.
Jeff and I cooked this together and it turned out great,

we both really liked it.
I think tomorrow will be the pork meat balls.
remaining alcohol free so far this week like I said I would.
Each week that goes by is easier.
although, am I going to constantly think about drinking on the weekend? Like I can't wait for friday to come?
I can't believe that we leave on our trip a week from tomorrow.

I am not ready mentally for this.

still af monday thru thursday for the past 5-6 weeks don't remember when I actually started doing this program.
It is really working out well. Yesterday I had some cravings while coming home from work earlier than I thought. That is always the witching hour...wanted to stop at fat pats for a couple of beers but then thought about my plan and my friends who are helping me be accountable like you guys. and the other forum I post on called HAMS. It is a place for people who want to moderate their drinking. I have a guy that helps keep an eye on me and gives me encouragement too. His mane is arty.
We are not going to trivia tonight. Going to a concert instead...a jazz band starts at 7.
I work late tonight so jeff may prepare our last meal with out me.
last night was good not great, the recipe called for too much water.

the dried mushrooms were rehydrated in water and we were supposed to use all of the water later in the dish. Jeff ended up using half the water. And in the end it was still too much liquid. It made everything sort of bland. There were a lot of ingredients. It was a curry cabbage and pork meatballs.
It was good just not our favorite. Tonight is a chicken dish with butternut squash again.
I am running late this morning. Got to bed late and missed my shower this morning. I need to run to the bank and order euros. They will be here by tuesday. Got a phone plan for us to use our phones for $10 a day per phone. I will probably leave my phone off unless we lose each other then turn it on.
thanks for the kind words of support.

Mon-Thurs AF is good going . I'm no expert , but believe it's about creating a pattern so it feels like it's normal to do something ...like not drink . Then to do that for long enough that you actually enjoy that routine .
I didn't have a problem with drinking ...just drank every day for 15 years ...also did a 12 hour shift in a gold mine most of those days , so I generally wasn't drinking to excess 3 , 4 , or 5 beers 6 nights a week and as many as I could fit in on a Saturday night . I get tested fir drugs and alcohol every day before I commence work ( not just me , we all do in the underground mining industry ) and I would always read 0.0 . So have no problem it would seem , but I was feeling worn out and not as dynamic ..maybe also depressed a bit .
But it was a habit I believed I would miss if I stopped . I also thought it helped me cope with stress at work ( I am a supervisor so there is pressure to produce cost effective Oz's of gold ) .
Anyway a year ago I decided I would only drink one day a week . Man I felt better in no time at all . So much so , that often on the Saturday night I can drink I only have a few now . I'm enjoying the clarity of being in control now . My wife has gone to England for a month , so thought I would set myself a challenge of not drinking for the month . Going well so far ..enjoying it in fact .
Your challenge is your own Bizi , and I'm not being so self centred to offer advice ...I just felt like typing . Your trip away to Prague will of course create some challenges , but also some wonderful opportunities to remember forever .

I don't like how alcohol makes me feel. It makes me feel dizzy, out of control, and really sleepy. So I don't drink that much. I've never had more than 2 drinks at a time, so I've never been drunk or had a hangover. I don't think I'm missing out.
