I felt one coming on this morning and I was like "OH NO...PLEASE!!!!! NO!!!!!". It got cranked up pretty good but at trhe last second I tried to distract it by thinking about...er...a big piece of chocolate cake or something. It went away and did not progress to a full-blown one.

Then I immediately rushed into the kitchen and took a 1mg Ativan and sinceIhad a lot to get done today and I did'nt get much sleep last night I decided to have a little cup of motivation juice...UH-OH!!!,. BIG mistake!!!.

It feels like I have this panic attack that has been hanging over my head all day saying "sooner or later I'm gonna GITCHA!!. So far I've been lucky but a few time today, my throat had some tiny sharp painsin it and I was thinking "OMG!!!....RABIES!!!" and I could fee my heart start to race and the adrenalin shoot up through me. Then I had a hards time breathing and my thorat started to close up and I felt like this was IT...death itself knocking at my door!!.

Another thing that has me scared is that I heard that one of the symptoms of rabies can be that you are really horny all the time and in that movie I watched about the guy who had rabies, he was always trying to seduce this one woman. Of course, I have also heard that anxiety and panic can cause increased sexual desire.

Well, without getting too graphic here, I have been "going at it" like a mad man for about 4 days now and believe it or not, that scares the living CRAP out of me. I also get these very mild neuralgia-type headaches on the top of my head and little sharp pin-pricks in my throat here and there. Gosh, I'm about to have another panic attack just thinking about it. I amsop sick of living like this and I just took an Ativanthis morning sowhy is'nt it doing anything for me now?. What can I take?.

Pleaseeeee!!! )-:

GG your not going to die from panic attack , hubby said to tell you to play some soothing music, if this doesn,t help, lay down stiffen all your muscles and start counting as you count repeat toes relax, caves relax, knees relax, thighs relax, and keep on going til ya get to your head do this several times until you feel yourself relaxing, the main thing to remember is "YOU DO NOT HAVE RABIES" that is your obsesive dx talking

I just took a 1/2 of an Ativan. It's been really bad lately. Thank's for the suggestions nothemama8 . I love taking walks in the morning but the bats and cats come out at night so I don't go out then. A shower...now that's something I hav'nt though about.

We have a neighbor lady who started out with about 8 cats when we moved here. Every year they breed like crazy and after 9 years here, she has well over 100 cats and kittens. She puts a bowl out onthe table for them every morning and it's like watching a scene out of "101 dalmations" when all those cats come running up there to eat. Nobody willdo anything about it so there they are. 7-8 under our car. 10 under our building peeing all overeverything. 3 on our porch. 2 on top of our car. 5-6 out back playing in the woodpile. I tell you, it's maddening around this place...lol.

After you tell your shoulders to relax then you should have relaxed your whole body which is what you are trying to achieve am I right you want to relax your MIND and then the panic attack will leave

I LOVE you people so I'm going to have to give you a double hug... ((((((((HUG))))))) ((((((((HUG))))))) .

Thank's for working me through it. I'm a little better now. I've written a new software program called Anxiety Diary and have been submitting it to all of the software sites today. It's a free program and you can probably get a copy somewhere in my profile there ;-). It's far from done but it's not in beta either. I don't know if I ever told any of you this but I've actually been writing scripts and software for close to 8 years and have no less than 33 scripts and 8 programs under my belt. Ok, I'm just rambling now but it's true :-). Of course I did a lot more back when I was a "normal" person.

SOrry you had a rocky day GG........your "motivation juice" sorta counteracted your Ativan, so I am not surprised you sorta felt like you were going to panic - and it just didnt quite get out. Leave the danged caffeine ALONE !!! :-)

YOU DO NOT HAVE RABIES.

Your "stinkin thinkin" came out full blown when u felt the first twinge of panic......and you did a great job of keeping the irrational thoughts going unfortunately. Thinking about chocolate cake is not quite what you need to think about - its more like NOT saying to yourself OH NO - PLEASE - NO"....its more about saying "Ok - I feel you trying to trip my trigger, and I am going to just sit here, breathe calmly, visualize somewhere safe and peaceful, and YOU are NOT going to get anymore attention from me "!

Walking is a great suggestion , as well as the soothing music, and progressive relaxation. These are skills you really need to learn.

What does your Rx for Ativan say ? Certainly it allows you to take it more than once a day - so it was great you took another one tonight, and I hope that calmed you down again.

Yup - on the breathing issue - you were tensed up, trying TOO hard to breathe - not using the explained diaphragmatic breathing techniques. WHen u were feeling like u were having trouble getting a deep breath - did you check your belly ? Bet u forgot !!!!

Congrats on doing the computer work......I am lucky to know how to turn mine on and off :-)

Keep on keepin on !
