I hate it! I can't sleep at all, no matter how hard I try . It's been going on for three months now and for once I want to get some sleep lol I heard somewhere that anxiety keeps you awake and such when it comes to sleep-and I do admit I have been dealing with allot of stress this year and last year. My thoughts are always rushing before I go to bed and they wont shut up! Sleeping Problems During the day I take naps allot since I'm so physically tired from the previous nights. Is there some way that I can finally get some sleep!? It's driving me mad Sleeping Problems

Some ideas in random order as my mind is a bind random right now...

keep journal next to bed and write down all the thoughts going on...

read Dale carnegie's book - how to stop worry and start living

try to avoid caffeine

try to avoid naps

talk to a T and pdoc...meds for sleeping

Hope this gets your brain storming going...

Hey Mally, this is something very close to my heart lol I haven't had a good nights sleep in I don't know how long. I'm getting back on a schedule now, so I think I'm going to fix this.

You should see a doctor and get some sleeping pills, even over the counter ones are okay if that's all you can get for now. Then, you should take them at a reasonable time at night, and wake up at a reasonable time in the morning. Then you should be reasonably active during the day. I know that's not as easy as it sounds.. I have been struggling with it myself.

And like direction said, avoid caffeine and naps, especially later in the day.

Good luck, I hope you get some sleep.

Mally,
here's what my T taught me: questions are search engines for the brain, so when you're asking yourself questions, it keeps you awake.

it isn't easy, but I try to make statements to myself, I like the worry list idea to write down thigns and reassure in my thoughts, you knwo what? I WILL get to that tomorrow.

it helps but sure takes time.
