300mg seroquel at night here. I make sure I get 9 hours. Yea the seroquel dose may be a bit high. For the first few hours, I sleep like a rock. Then starting at about 3am, I’m up every hour. Thing is, even with the annoying wake ups, this is the best sleep I’ve ever gotten. When I was mixed/hypo, there’s nights I wouldn’t sleep at all. Even with double the seroquel dose. It was hell the next day. Talk about zombie!

So I’m curious to how others sleep is and the quality. And do you take anything for sleep?

My zyprexa kicks my *** most of the time. I'm a rock for about 9 hours. Plus I wake up sleepy unless I'm mixed/manic then I lay in bed sleepy but don't actually sleep a lot.

I take 100mg to 150mgs Trazadone nightly just to get some resemblance of sleep. Some nights however it doesn't keep me asleep all night. But, gives me about 6-7 hours of good sleep most nights. When I don't take it, I can't sleep and that's when the mind starts racing and the ideas start flowing.

6 hours usually with a couple of trips to the bathroom during the night. I am awake for under 5 minutes total when that happens. That's with 2.5 mg Saphris. Without it, i am lucky if I get 4, tossing and turning.

I sleep okay if I take my bedtime meds. Not taking my meds means no sleep for me.

pretty much fall asleep quickly and can get 8 hrs in except for the bathroom break in the middle. I don't take any sleep med. I read somewhere that it was rare for BP to be able to have natural, solid night's sleep, so I guess I'm 'rare' if the statement is true , but certainly thankful, unfortunately it does ** nothing ** for my depression!

I can't be on Seroquel because my pdoc said I'm already on Zyprexa so I'm on Trazadone and fall asleep easily but wake up after about 4-5 hours and can't go back to sleep. I'm so manic i can't even take a nap during the day unless I take another Trazadone. I hate it but there are no other options for me. Not even Temazepam, as my pdoc said you are already on Klonopin and those are benzos. He means well and is pleasant but solid on his regulations of my meds. I did try Remeron but it did nothing. I did have sexual dreams on it but didn't last long. The Trazadone usually gives me nightmares. I pray a lot and am not bothered during the day except for the voices (I have Schizoaffective disorder bipolar spectrum with panic/anxiety. The only thing that helps is my MP3 player and a set list for bed. Thanks for letting me share.

When I don't have any meds in me I sleep a full 8 hours per night. But I'm taking the generic for heldol decimate, even though it's illegal I also take 5 mg. Heldol at night and cogenton, and visiting. All these are prescribed the courts don't care that the deccinate, is illegal it made my liver enzymes sky rocket and almost made my liver give out they ignored it gave me the shot again and court ordered, it. Whatever the doc perscribed then in court reading another petition, from my first petition given another petition upon supena, judge not allowing me to be on the bench, and keeping me in the gourney, after the ride there by the ambulance they allowed the petitioners to stay on the stand the hole time they lied on the stand. Judge said to me one more outburst in my court and I will kick you out. The hospital wouldn't allow me to speak in private to the attorney so I told the judge I didn't want the attorney he was dirty and his eyes bloodshot when he came I replied he wasn't proffesional. Anyway just a little story I wake every hour from the meds. And now have type 2diabieties. My family doctor took me off since but the psychiatry office just called not to miss my appointment with the nurse for my shot. Oh and the guidance center or my psychiatry office is now signing with computer pads so they will no longer let me see the paper work. And I can't walk out or I'll automatically be put in ambulance and driven to the hospital. I once going to school to be a nurse, volunteering in the hospital, I suggest papers for a direct advocate she now petitions me if something don't go her way or if I punish my kids in a way she don't like. I'm screaming my own mother. Kids are 10 and 14. Have been going through this for 14 years. Help

I only sleep if I take my Seroquel. I get 9 hours. If I'm unwell or don't take my evening med I only sleep about 3 hours. And I wake up either mixed or manic.

I don't take anything specifically for sleep, but my meds do help. I average around 7 hours of sleep. Usually, I do sleep pretty soundly. I haven't been lately though. Mostly waking up early or multiple times throughout the night. But my moods are doing some sort of ultra rapid cycling and I can't get off the ride.

Had on and off sleep issues for years before BP diagnosis. Would take 3.25-7.5mg imovane once in a while and it worked like a charm. Since starting lamotrigine 2 1/2 weeks ago at at 50mg daily imovane does nothing. Even doubled it to 15 mg and nothing. Wake constantly through the night and end up with massive headache in morning. When desperate 1mg Ativan has given me a full nights sleep but don’t really want to go down that road of depending on that. Have seroquel which pdoc told me to try next. Been putting it off but last night was sooo awful I think I’ll succumb tonight. HAve tried to improve sleep hygiene but getting nowhere. Hate this.

This morning I woke up to a knock on the door at 7am. It was the police and I was terrified, being manic and all. Normally I sleep 12 hours because clozapine knocks me on my ***, but lately it's been about 8 hours which is wonderful I hate sleeping half the day. Good sleep though, but always sedated.

My latuda makes me sleep a solid 4 hours, then I'm up every half hour or so for the next three. It kinda sucks.

The medication I take that is surely the most useful for my sleep is my 600 mg of Seroquel XR. If I'm stable I sleep about 8-9 hours. Occasionally I wake up at 3 am or something, but usually only to go pee or eat a small snack (ff low sugar yogurt) and then go back to sleep. I have to say that over the years Seroquel XR doesn't make me as sleepy as quickly as it used to. I take it at about 7 pm and don't get sleepy until 10:30 or 11 pm. Regular Seroquel tended to make me sleepy faster, given it's higher and quicker "spike".

With Seroquel XR, if I have to get up before 8-9 hours of sleep and/or if I take it much later than 7 pm, I will experience a morning "hangover". That's pretty uncomfortable. Sometimes I press the snooze button in a half sleep and oversleep. Sometimes I get up, but it seems almost painful. Too little sleep with the necessity to get up too early makes me a VERY cranky woman. I've been known to punch the coffee maker, throw dishes on the table, and roar.

If I've been in a manic episode, doses lower than 600 mg of Seroquel XR affect my ability to sleep. During those times I might sleep 5 hours or less and miraculously wake up feeling utterly refreshed and ready to bake muffins and dance around the kitchen.

I sleep well on just 25mg seroquel/quetiapine. Generally 7 1/2 hours

When going hypo, I have to triple the dose. Then back to regular dose when I come back down.

I take night medicine that puts me out for 7-8 hours. I also use a CPAP which helps me wake refreshed.

Depends. If I have to go to work, it's anywhere from 5-7 hours. If I can sleep in, it's anywhere from 6-10 hours. I think because my brain isn't thinking "I have to be up and go somewhere." I tend to wake up in the middle of my sleep, unless I take Remeron. Even then, I will sometimes wake up, I just fall back to sleep more easily. The pdoc inpatient gave me both Remeron and Deseryl which I take if I'm not going back to work and sometimes I sleep for a good 9 hours straight, but I can't take that if I'm getting up and going to work because I'll be too hung over.

The quality of my sleep is alright for the most part. Depends on what I do before I go to sleep. I need to wind down properly after work or I will not do well. OH, and as a third shifter, it's pretty imperative I keep the same sleep schedule (sleep during the day, up at night).

My sleep is all over the place depending on many factors, including my body natural rhythm. I’ve had sleep issues since childhood.

Does anyone here have a Fitbit or Apple Watch to track their actual sleep patterns and quality of sleep? I borrowed one overnight recently and it was so interesting to read the results in the morning......I had NO idea these watch thing-ah-ma-bobs could do what they do. I plan to hopefully get one soon and get some long term data on this situation.

Fitbits require a subscription to get to the real sleep metric data thats usefull, but even that is really just tracking body movement restlessness , so save yourself the time and money on the fitbit and just skip it , there are free apps that will do the same thing if you sleep with your phone , sleep is my arch nemesis I see one of the best sleep pathology researchers in the country, to get about four hours of sleep I am taking double the recommended dose of temazepam with an opiate chaser .
