Happy birthday, Fharraige.

Spikes, feel free to ask me anything you want about ECT.

I drove over to Roseville today to see my mother. (Waves at Laurie.) We talked about her cancer treatment. She's refusing chemo and at one point suggested it would only be another six months.

On my way home I picked up a hitchhiker headed to San Francisco from Florida. He was a friendly kid. That made the drive back more interesting, without a doubt.

Struggling today. Got up early ready to take on the day. Before noon I was back in bed, crying, feeling like nothing was worth it and like I was such a horrible person. It's the guilt and negative thoughts about myself that got me the most. Slept for a few hours. At least I made dinner and ate with my SO. Feeling hopeless, but slightly better. It's so hard to see through it sometimes or to imagine that it will ever improve.

You seem like a really caring person!
Sounds like maybe you'd needed the sleep?
It can be tough to stay hopeful, for sure!
Don't be too hard on yourself!

Its 8:45 and i have to leave now to pick up my youngest at his gf's house. Im just so worn down both physically and mentally. I could fall asleep at any second. Is this the drugs? I haven't taken my nighttime meds tonight except ativan. I just dread the drive out there. N3 says there are adults there but no cars. Just great.

Thank you. I try to not be too hard on myself, but sometimes I just cannot maintain insight in these states and I end up feeling like the worst kind of person.

When did the vertigo start? Did you start a psych med that triggered some vertigo? If so, then you should definitely contact your psychiatrist. If not, then contact a doctor of some sort. You can either contact your regular GP/PCP or you can go to an urgent care center. Or the ER (depending on how bad it is).

I think CVS oftentimes has urgent care clinics inside their stores--"minute clinic" I think they're called. They're cheaper than a hospital service and you get help pretty fast similar to the ER. But if the vertigo is extremely bad, then go directly to the ER. Obviously you'll need someone to drive you, though. You shouldn't drive yourself.

I had it a few weeks ago when i first started seroquel and now its back when the dose is increased. I was going to try to call my pnurse practitioner's nurse. See what they say. Before theyd said take it immediately before before bed but this is beyond that. Ps I just drove home from starbucks.

Feeling down right now. I finished taking all my stomach medication. I was on three for 14 days. I took my last dose on the 23rd. The last three days my stomach has been really upset in the mornings and I do not know why. It’s almost 1 PM cst and my stomach is still not feeling any better. I have not ate all day just got out of bed. I have a follow up appointment with a gastroenterologist specialist next month on the 12th. They can not see me earlier because it has to be a certain amount of time after you stopped taking your stomach medication. Maybe I should just call the office and speak with a nurse? Yes, I’ll do that.

Cocosurviving: some stomach medications can have rebound heartburn after you stop taking them. It may take some time for the stomach acid to settle back down. There's a lot of info on natural heartburn remedies but you should check with your doc first.

I'm the same boat. I had to stop taking Prilosec because of side effects and I'm having heartburn again.

Pharmacy still had my Trileptal so picked it up this morning.

Had a long workout--brisk walking plus weights for upper body. I did lose a few pounds but I also feel better. Eating healthy and exercising has its rewards.

Made my first green smoothie. It tasted mostly like the protein powder I put in there. Took a while to figure out the Ninja blender but I got it to work.

Cats went to the vet this morning. Got a call that they're doing well. Picking them up this evening.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everyone. You all are the bomb!

Love and hugs for all, and more if you're struggling.

Went to see my pdoc this morning. No changes in meds, just the letter of confirmation to the ECT doc for Friday's treatment. This is the same doc I went to for TMS which means I got to see the technician. She's wonderful. It's always fun to chat with her before going in for the actual appointment.
The drive there and back is also fun. It's largely winding mountain roads through coastal forests. What's more, today (this morning) we had a marine layer, so low clouds and low temperatures.

To cap it all off, I was listening to Wolfstone, a Scottish Celtic rock band. Think bagpipes and electric guitars.

I wish all the best to all of yous.

Ended up in a similar state today as yesterday.
Possible trigger:
Day three of my period, so it really should be getting better, but lately it seems that the severe mood problems persist for the duration of my period, not just until it starts. Also been unable to do basic things like respond to emails. Trying again, because I know they probably think I am slacking at this point. :/ Talking to an old friend in an hour, so hope that lifts my spirits. to everyone that would like one.

I am here. My place is a mess. Depression. Not being able to focus. At least I try to exercise every day when possible. My daughter continues to act like a child. Unfortunately her stress level is pretty high. If this continues to become much worse for her, she may end up mentalliy losing it. Maybe some sort of nervous breakdown. I am convinced that it will get much worse for her. She does not have a “strong” mind like her mother does.

Right now I found out she has been driving her mothers car when her mother is not there at home with her. My daughter has no insurance. I told her about what the consequences can be. Furthermore, she and her boyfriend have already damaged her mothers car which her brother had to fix. I can only stand by and watch her self-destruct. What a terrible position for a father to be in. Her brother and I will talk to her about the car, and probably take the keys away from her. We will also have to talk to her boyfriend on how needs to help around the house.

mood is elevated today. I was tired and tried to lay down for a nap and the racing thoughts came. I had to meet my mom within the hour so after one last try, i gave up and got up.

this is good because I'm a little more productive, I'm cooking today after 2 months. Granted, I've done half the work of it every day, but every little addition is good to get me back on my own when guests leave.

But yes, i'm feeling a little like caffeine minus the caffeine. I know it's the stress of cooking on my own. ...
on that note, i'd better finish up! hehe I'm so excited or scatterbrained that Ijust had to come on here whilst it was simmering, but I gotta go now.

Peace!

Today was awful since I didn't get any exercise in. Though the overexercise is a huge part of my problem, it is also my coping mechanism for horrendous stress. I need to find a happy medium though between running and the amount of calories I consume. Pdoc seemed on the verge of referring me to eating disorder IP places today.

Pdoc tells me maybe I should try volunteering somewhere, but I'm really not sure about that. What would be the point?

Sorry to be lost in my own issues. I am reading the posts here, just don't have the energy to respond. Today was another hard day. Every day is lately.

The volunteering can help you take your mind off of your anxiety escalating problems at home.

I saw my pdoc today. Last summer and this summer I've had the same psychotic issues involving vulgar music playing in my head, just a few weeks later this year than last. It's nearly constant and competes with racing thoughts. Which are better than they were but still there after I did a 4 day pulse of increased clozapine 2 weeks ago. I do not want more clozapine as the pulse showed me that a higher dose makes me extremely sedated.

I've also been having dizzy spells whenever I bend over, so much that I have to grab something until I can see again when I stand up. So we're going to try decreasing my klonopin a little bit. Apparently my state is starting to track gabapentin similarly to benzos so ideally I'll just be on that eventually. In the past we've talked about this and klonopin will be withdrawn very slowly and only as tolerated. I have to finish this week's pill box off as I have another pill that looks a lot like klonopin and I don't want to mess things up decreasing that dose instead of klonopin.

I feel so much better after talking to both my therapist and pdoc about what is going on in my head. It makes me want to scream and I have done so in the past "STOP IT!!" which helps briefly but scares my cats.

And now I'm very tired after my 5.5 hours of driving so hope I make sense.

Tracking gabapentin? I have heard this might happen in my state, too! Whatever for? Lol!
