Went out and bought a 10 column ledger book to help keep track of everything. It is not perfect but will do.
I have a lot of clients at least 150. So that is a lot of keeping track of...I am only doing a few days in advance of my visits....can't handle much more than that.
Put a call into a gal that has done some work for me before. She is a quick learner. She is the daughter of a friend of mine. She is finishing up her college this semester. I just need her to help fax orders to MD's.
Tried to fax some today and had a hard time doing that.
Don't understand my new fax machine. sigh
I am so tech. challenged.
Have been drinking nightly to help deal with stress.
IT is not a great coping mechanism but it is what it is.

I hope you all had a nice valentines day!!!!
WE had a very nice valentines day dinner out at ZEAS restaurant.
I had the thai ribs and corn grits and tomato basil soup which was wonderful...they no longer carry the brousel sprouts. Very sad about that... We split an order of tiny crab cakes with wasabi and a tad bit of seaweed salad on top they were delicious!
hubby was underwhelmed at his food. he had ordered the sampler of beef and pork with special sauces, one of which was very salty so he scraped off the sauce on the pork. He liked the beef sauce being kind of mushroomy.Had a couple of beers and were very full.
Woke up to valentines day flowers and butterfinger bars, my favorite.and a really nice card.
The dinner spared me from obsessing about the frustrating day today.
I dressed up in a copper/brown colored top and wore my chocolate pearls and earrings with black slacks and boots.I had not dressed up in a while.
yesterday I received my 3rd and final light laser treatment for the redness of my face. I can't tell all that much of a difference though she says there is a big difference. Of course she would say that! It is her job to make me feel better. And it was expensive...I won't do that again.

Just a quick update.
I have been busy getting doctors orders on my clients....some are reluctant to give me orders....why this must be so hard?????
I have been creating charts on my clients so that is good.
I am starting over with all new charts one way to thin my filing cabinet., emptied it and started anew. I have a gal helping me to do this.
I have about 30 new charts already. I have about 150 clients total, so this is a start.

I don't know when my lawyer will get back in touch with me, just awaiting his email with suggested rewrites of my statement for the board of nursings claim against my license.

Getting new orders and charting has been a great distraction on my part.
I am not sure what will become of my practice as I may lose my license after it is all said and done and pay a fine as well. Thousands of dollars.

am trying to be brave and just take it a day at a time.
My clients all wonder why I am having to get doctors orders etc. when I have not gotten them before....

3 weeks ago I fell and hurt my ribs....They are still painful, thru out my work day, but are much better.

I am awaiting a note from my lawyer. Am anxious to hear what he has to say in regards to my statement. The state board of nursing is like the firing squad. guilty unless proven innocent.

I slept into day and it felt great.
Had not been sleeping well with everything
that has been going on.
This week I faxed in the document that I must follow
that states that I need doctor orders to provide foot care to my clients.
He did not believe me and would not give me orders.

Now I have to meet with the Director of nurses at one
of the nursing homes that I go to and provide care to their residents.
Don't know what is up with that.
Will call her on Monday.
This first part is done as we put in the mail box the originals of
that my lawyer asked for. I finished "the Statement"
yesterday and faxed that to them.
now it is a wait and see...there is nothing more that I can do...
Have asked about 6-8 people to write letters of support
to the board on my behalf...so hopefully they have done that.
My anxiety is better because I have been having some luck
getting doctors orders and am charting again which is good.
I have the same gal coming over on sunday to help with
paper work, filing and putting together new charts.
I am so grateful for her assistance.
Hope she thinks I pay her well.
WEll I need to get dressed so we can go out to eat at our usual
Chris' for some chicken and sausage gumbo.
My weight finally was down to 179.6 this morning.
I had been up to 187.8.

WE went to the party pre mardis gras parade for club rio. they have 25 floats this year. It was a lot of fun. I drank entirely too much and had a hard time sleeping. I ate too much as well.
good food and a fabulous king cake bananas foster, it was awesome! We brought a big fruit salad which every one ate.Mike the host had cooked a lot of meat so that was tasty. Aster the parade we went back to mikes house and had a good time visiting and hanging out there.
After the party, we came back to the house to get a burger king coupon and went there looking for a whopper but the lobby was closed and the drive thru was packed so we went to checkers and got big buffords and seasoned french fries..... both were excellent. Came home and watched lost. Had fun fun fun.

I have 70 charts made and 47 returned doctors orders so it is definitely going in the right direction.

Meet with the director of nurses for one of the nursing homes that I go to, on thursday...I think...I have it in my planner, just too lazy to go look at it. We will come up with a contract for the year. I will bring my liability insurance certificate and proof of TB test. Will need to update this yearly. It has been 10 years since they checked me out.


Am still seeing new clients only if I can get verbal orders for them, then I schedule an appointment. My work load has been light thank goodness so I have been able to get things organized. I am finding mistakes along the way so I just need to be more careful and stay on the task at hand. I have set up a system to track orders. A visual orange dot next to their name on their charts so it is easy for me to see if I have received orders back for them or not.

I spend hours a day on the phone leaving messages for family members, doctors offices, getting orders, creating charts and charting, faxing requests for orders, verbal orders etc.

It feels good to be doing these things....I have needed to get my ducks in order for some time....too bad it has to be under these circumstances.

If they felt I was a threat they would have ordered me to stop my practice but they did not so I will continue my business. This case could take years to settle. I need to relax and have faith in my lawyer. However, we just found a big error in my statement. I repeated myself from one paragraph to the other. sigh
My lawyer did not catch nor did we. sigh

I have asked clients of mine to write letters of support. One may back fire. I asked him to not include that I treated his ingrown toe nails which could be out of my scope of practice. But he did and even worse said that he had been to 2 podiatrist with no relief but since I have worked on his feet he is painfree. Just tonight I have a clients family who is going to write the board of nursing . I treat both her parents and declined her because her feet were beyond my scope of practice. This is the perfect letter.

The lawyer said 5 letters and I have about 8-9 if they all respond.

Mardi Gras is a week from tomorrow. I will give up drinking for lent, it starts the day after mardi gras on ash wednesday for 40 days.

Will see if I can do this.

I met with the director of nursing at the nursing home today.
After meeting with her and about 1 1/2 hours later to think about her position, I decided that I would not go into nursing homes. I called her to tell her. She was surprised. I still worry that she will turn me in.
sigh, I will lose about a dozen clients. I am not concerned. I said my good byes to a couple of my favorite clients today...that was hard on them too.
I met with my psych doctor today and told her all that was going on she thought I was doing well all things considered. WE have been together about 15 years. I think I was her first bipolar patient.

It is mardi gras weekend. So there has been much reveling and over indulgence. No parades today but some on monday night and then all day tuesday, official mardi gras day. I see one client tomorrow morning then off until wednesday. Ash wednesday for the catholics here and everywhere.
I am not catholic but will "give up" alcohol for lent. and try to get back to healthy eating and dieting and going to the gym.
we ate lunch today at the diner as usual.
I had 2 bloody marys(weak ones) with scrambled eggs with grilled oniopns, mushrooms and peppers and sausage. diner browns and a grilled biscuit.
All very good and filling.

Jeff is taking a nap right now because he has a headache.
I need to do some laundry, uniforms for work.
Glad that the rain held off until today. The parades were fun last night!
The temperatures dropped, supposed to be in the 40's and 50's, it was 70 something yesterday.

It has been 25 years since I was diagnosed with bipolar 1. A lot has changed since then.
I got married to the love of my life. I am a nurse.
Own and operate a foot care practice. Own a home(rather the bank does until we pay it off in about 7 years). By then we will be debt free. That is a good feeling.
Hopefully, I will still have a job. Just wanted to share.

It was in the 40's today with a wind so it made it colder. I was prepared with long underware and layers and mittens and ear muffs. It was cold on my face still. After the parades we went back to a friends house for visiting.

We had a fun mardi gras. Did not drink too much which was good, Jeff picked up a chicken for us to eat as we were hungry by the time we got home around 7 pm.
I need to drink plenty of water because I am thirsty. today Had bloody marys and a couple of hurricanes. Ate frito pies which was tasty (chili and peppers and onions and frito corn chips)and some king cake and some boudin ( think rice and spicy meat in a casing)to eat which was very good.

Doing laundry and getting ready to watch LOST.
I have a lot of paper work to do in the morning.
Ash wednesday starts the season of lent.
I will observe this tradition for the catholic faith by giving up alcohol and eating better and going to the gym.
Wish me luck this next 40 some odd days.

Fantastic news today from hubby!
He won the distinguished professor of the year for the whole school.
I am very Proud of him.
There is a $5,000 prize for the honor.
The ceremony/dinner will be in April and he has to give a speech.
He is usually playing music for the dinner. Now he will be the featured honorary.
Only 2 people in the whole university won this distinction.

We went to texas road house to celebrate.
I texted my family about it,
Hubby is talking to his mom right now.
Very excellent day!

many peanuts on the floor and we ended up eating at the bar because I had a coughing fit and jeff was not bringing me back the water fast enough. I am trying to follow a low carb diet. and trying to cut back on portion sizes. I forgo the rolls and even had mixed veggies instead of the baked sweet potato. So I had the texas road kill. a 10oz steak burger smothered with cheese and mushrooms and onions. It was delicious and I only ate half....will have the rest this weekend sometime. I have to lose this weight, I just have to.
