Well I had had 2 nights of sleep 6-8 hours, but broken ... I’m really loaded myself with meds, certainly over serving myself, nothing of a dangerous level of course.

It’s imperative that I get sleep while we are out of town, so I lean very hard on a couple meds.

Last night I managed to stay awake until 9pm for the first time in 3 weeks.

I ended up sleeping just 4.5 hours and didn't go back to bed, but I did some other nights.

Hopefully things will improve soon.

I know what you mean Christina. When we're at the hotel Friday and Saturday I have extra meds with me to sleep. Dealing with people and the wedding takes a lot out of me, so I need the sleep if I can force it I do. Friday mum has a hair cut then we drive to the hotel, check in and get to rehearsal. After that is the dinner,....at a casino( in the next state over!)!!! Then drive back to the hotel. Don't have to be at the wedding til 2pm, so that's good. After the wedding is a short break then the reception. Then Sunday morning the drive back home. So I need my sleep Friday and Saturday. Being a hotel room makes it difficult.

I’m sorry your struggling to sleep , again? Still? Vicious cycle !

Have you ever tried benedryl ? Or Visteral , it caused bladder retention for me , I always get the wacky side effects but so many people find it helps a lot for sleep. Hope your apt comes fast !

My sleep is pure garbage , sleeping while away from home is always difficult.

We got home late Saturday and when I climbed into bed it felt amazing, but I had done 3 energy shots to make the 14 hour drive so I was still wired.

Last night I did get a few decent hours. It’s 3:36 am now and I should have gone to bed hours ago. I hurt my back bringing in luggage so it’s hard to find a comfortable position.

I actually have a paradoxical reaction to Benadryl - it winds me up - so we avoid it at all cost. I've had Visteril in the past - it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm just extremely hard to sedate - LOL.

I got a couple hours of sleep but now am up wide awake at 7am. SIgh.

Hope you got some sleep!

My sleep is junky too (great word to describe it). I see my therapist today - she's going to be disappointed with my sleep log but I am doing everything I am supposed to - so what can you do.

I kept a record of my sleep as part of a pain document. That's really the first time my sleep was taken seriously by a doctor. She believed wholeheartedly that good sleep was part of pain control. I agree with her. It's too bad I no longer she her cause she took my lack of good sleep seriously

Like I mentioned on the bipolar check in my doc again prescribed 2 20 mg ambien. So now all I gotta do is pick it up. But it would be funny if just the anticipation of it put me to sleep.

How's your back, Christina?

Yeah, chronic pain screws with sleep, for sure. Nammu, I'm glad your doctor is taking pain seriously. What is with most doctors and their lack of understanding of pain issues? I don't even want meds for pain, but being taken seriously is half the battle.

Yeah, I lucked out with this doctor. He's a great doc. Well I didn't sleep well. I just fell asleep crookedly on my arm when mum woke me to drive her to rehab. My hand and arm was all painfully tingling. Can't really remember my dream except it envolved my cousin and our mums. Dressing up in what looked like bad prom dresses.

I'm so sorry you didn't sleep well. That so sucks. Certainly an amusing dream, however.

Thanks Beth ... my back is still hurting, eventually it will heal.. I have the meds my Doctor gave me last time I had such muscle trauma in my back Feldene and Flexril so no need to get it looked at.

How are you feeling?? I truly do agree with you about just having a Doctor understand chronic pain and how it really is not allowing someone to get healthy sleep.

Speaking of pain ??? How’s things going for you in Physical Therapy? Are you still going or taking a break ?? Hope you feel better soon

When I was in Texas I was on opioids and was forced to see a pain specialist. But she turned out to be a great doctor. She was very respectful and understanding. I had found a chronic pain support website that had excellent charts you could download to keep track of pain and she loved them. She was a rare doctor. She had me on long release meds instead of short acting ones so I didn't have to take as many pills in a day. That was very helpful. She didn't treat me differently just because I had a psych diganois. That was really nice.

I'm glad you have the pain meds, helps ease the misery of muscle strain so you can heal.

I haven't been going to PT. I'm so disgusted with the whole situation. A few days ago I received a letter stating that the podiatrist I was seeing will no longer be taking my insurance. No wonder he basically blew me off.

I'm going to speak with my GP about what to do...the pain is sheer hell.

Thanks for your support
