Please stay safe, Daonnachd. I'm sorry your ECT will be delayed.

I am not fond of having therapy over the phone, either, but I have done it a couple times when it was unsafe for me to drive (weather, mood). It is better than nothing, in my view. My therapist asked if I wanted to try videocall therapy tomorrow or come to her office. I would have preferred going to her office, but I thought that maybe she would prefer the videocall. Plus, I thought I might as well give it a try since that could be used more in the future. I'll report back on my experience tomorrow after 3 pm.

Sorry to hear that. I am genuinely surprised that the hospital would cancel ECT on you. I know they don't want anyone to contract coronavirus, but I think cancelling ECT for the foreseeable future is a pretty terrible thing to do. That's like the pharmacy saying, "nope, we're closed for the foreseeable future. Tough s*** if you want meds."

I am frustrated for you. Really, I am. I think that was a terrible decision on their part. It is obviously a life saving measure for many people, so I don't get why they would stop doing that? Regular doctors offices aren't closed.

Anyways, have you heard of spravato (esketamine)? Supposedly it works for treatment resistant depression very quickly, but it can be very expensive. However, it literally pulls a lot of people out of a depression within days.

Here is the page: SPRAVATO™ (esketamine) CIII nasal spray | Official HCP Site

Maybe do some research on it?

And even though it is a lot of money, IP is expensive too, and you're almost guaranteed to get coronavirus in IP. You're in a locked down unit that's basically a Petri dish.

One huge positive for today and yesterday: yesterday I had the pizza I've been craving (ok, sort of, it was a frozen one that wasn't that great but still was good to me) and today I had chocolate. Things with the diet are getting much better. 2 more foods to go to see what happens.

@~Christina, I hope you feel better! What you described about your tongue sounds most unpleasant!

I'm worried about my mom catching the virus because she gets things worse than most people when its just a regular virus. She has COPD or something like that. Plus she's 73 in a few weeks. She's not in a nursing home; she still lives in her own home with her husband who is 60. She brought me some sweat shirts from Disney World. I dunno what to do with them. I already picked them up and put them on the back of my recliner. She commented, when she was here a bit ago that I look like I've lost weight. Well with a little more walking plus I'm not eating a lot. I'm just eating when hungry or if I get a not-eaten headache kind of thing so save the little food we have. Noah on the other hand is still at Sharlene's. I argued with him this morning about going over there in general. Her mother still goes back and forth to work and I don't know anything about her work. And yesterday, two of my lunch friends (well friends in general, but that's where we met) went out to a restaurant for lunch. I said I wasn't going because I'm low on money which is true, but I also didn't want to drive half an hour each way and waste my gas just to expose myself to people at a restaurant. I asked one of them how the lunch went and she said it went well. All of that said, I'm getting tired of being afraid all the time. I don't have a pdoc appointment until the end of April. And I don't have a T at the moment. If push comes to shove, I wonder if pdoc can just do a phone session. It would be a little weird, but it would work. And crossing fingers and toes that I stay stable for as long as possible! I wonder what psych hospitals are doing with all this. Talk about social distancing with people who aren't at their tip top shape to begin with!
Id toss the sweatshirts in the washer, Lysol your recliner well..

As for N3 .. He like so many kids and young adults are not taking this serious. But YOU have a right to be safe also.. Maybe if he cant be away from her then maybe he can go couch surf at her house??? I know that is a huge issue for the masses.....

So self care???l Limit your amount of time reading about it or watching news, I tune in 2-3 times a day for a very short amount, I scroll right past News on my facebook feed..

So breath and go step by step

I just got a shower and feel refreshed now. I put my pajamas on. I have to go to the pharmacy tomorrow to get my scripts. I hope they can do two weeks at once. They had been doing a month, but pdoc decided she wanted me to have only 2 weeks worth. N3 has to work tomorrow even though the dining room is closed at McDonald's. On the one hand that's good but on the other hand its not. I mean its money in- we can't afford to lose money- but its also him doing the drive-through for 8 hours.

Thanks. My pdoc was supposed to call but wound up out of the office suddenly last week and I don't know if she did. I'm guessing she didn't yet. I really hope she is ok. I need to send another message to her tonight. My therapist is also going to try to help; I have to get a release back to him tonight. I hope my scanner will work as there is nowhere to fax locally now that the library closed but I can email it to his office.

I was thinking about people receiving ECT if there was going to be a disruption. I am so sorry your faced with this and your city is taken big actions. Is there a chance your Pdoc could up a med or start one.. I am not a fan of the phone, But I think you really need to push to stay in contact with you team.. Stay safe

Cancelling ECT seems unconscionable to me. And the phone thing...I would feel the same way. I hate phone conversations - especially with a therapist!

My son lives in the city; he and his gf are on lockdown and they're about at the end of their rope. This whole mess is a clusterf*ck. So poorly handled. I wish I had some decent advice for you.

Picking up my meds tomorrow will suuuuuure be fun! I bet everyone will use the drive thru!!

If the drive thru line is too long, I am gonna say, "f*** it. I am going inside." Like, if there are 10 cars or some s***, I will just go into the store. Or I can arrive with my car at like 8:45am when they open at 9...?

Also, does anyone find it ironic that everyone is going to the grocery store in a panic to buy as much food as they can fit in their cart, but they are surrounded by a bunch of other people who are coughing and sneezing, and wiping their germs all over the place??? Like, they are trying to avoid getting sick by doing all their shopping at once so that they can "hoard and isolate," but there are definitely people with coronavirus who are shopping among them!! They just don't think it through!! (I know that some people can't necessarily go shopping until they get paid or whatever, but I am talking about all the panickers who don't realize they are increasing their risk of contracting coronavirus by coming in as a giant horde.)

Personally, I am staying AWAY from that germ pool. I do not want to be around people who are coughing, sneezing, etc.. Glad I did my shopping early!!

Also, I ordered ibuprofen from Walgreens online a few days ago in case I get a fever. (I am severely allergic to Tylenol/acetaminophen, so I am limited in what I can use since lots of things have acetaminophen in them.) I think Tylenol and ibuprofen are sold out now. Thankfully I got it on time without having to ever step into the store!!

I’ve got to go out to two different places to get medication and special eye drops for mom (don’t forget the Reese cups, she says ). I’m not concerned about myself but she is 85 and my brother has diabetes, COPD and heart issues. I could bring it back. Not an ideal situation. Going to head out at 6:00 for the grocery store and 8:00 for CVS so hopefully less people. Lysol wipes and social distancing all the way. Sigh. We’ll get through this.

I wish with everyone practically on lockdown that my cable company would give everyone a free upgrade. We're not set up for streaming and need the cable but what we got is is a whole bunch of nothing channels. Like right now we couldn't find anything to watch so the tv is off. Don't know that the upgrade would give us a whole lot more options, might need two upgrades to get HBO and those Chanel's. But now that the game of thrones is over what's on? I saw got via my library and the library is closing Wednesday! Can't believe they're closing the library. I could see them only allow ten people in at a time. You could sit in your car waiting! Yah, but to close the library! They already implemented a every other computer to keep people seperate. Other than that I never see people together in the library. I'm going tomorrow and checking out more books. Civilization has ended by closing the library!!!! Ok yah I'm being dramatic but wow!

Thanks for understanding Daonnachd! It didn't get real for me til I heard the library was closing.

We aren't in lockdown here, but I can imagine that is frustrating. What are you going to do now besides check out more books? It's sad that even the library is closed.

I just had a thought right now about going out for a walk tomorrow. We have an outbreak here, but I noticed that practically no one is going out for walks on trails and stuff. Wish it were warmer so that I could go kayaking, but it is the perfect time to be with nature though! I might even bring some coloring books outside, as I have a deck/porch. I can also read outside (now that you mention reading).

I wonder what history books (?) In the future are going to say about us hoarding all the milk bread eggs and toilet paper? That we needed to eat french toast? Seriously though in 100 years will it just be another chapter in the history books?
