I love music too!

So N3 went to our local grocery store and just hung out for a few minutes while he waited for me to pick him up. (He swears he didn't touch anything.) He said that the drinking fountain is closed off with plastic and the electric penny horse that kids can ride is either gone or unplugged or something so people can't use it.

Today I am feeling a bit hypo manic. Blasting music in the car, having sex, music is lighting up the synapses like crazy. Well sex did that too... I'm just sitting at home looking at my money tree (yes that's its real name!) as it sits in the sunshine. Plus, somehow I got blueberry juice on my new white sweatshirt. Wanting to read, listen to music and watch TV at the same time. I want to but I haven't tried it yet- well reading and music MIGHT work, but music usually goes in my ear and demands my attention so reading at the same time really wouldn't work out. I've got the music turned up as I type this. I was blasting the music in my (old worn out) car so that the windows rattled with the bass! And I just have the speakers it came with. And I wasn't careful enough and got blueberry on my white sweatshirt. Meh. Don't have any stain removal stuff. Is it April yet? One more week and then its my birthday! Next Saturday! I won't get any presents though since my mom's present to me was getting my tabs and registration renewed on my car for this coming year. Dang you practical presents!! What I wanted was the Are You Being Served? DVD's. And N3 is at Sharlene's. I'll probably have to get him at 9. Kevin gave me some food today. Its three bags of lunch and about 20 pints of milk and several small boxes of juice. He got them from the school. He took food around to the kids that usually get free lunch and breakfast at school. I feel bored. How can I be? I'm typing here and listening to music. (Sort of.) I just turned the music up - neighbors be damned! I feel like I need to do MORE. Maybe I'll go on a cleaning binge. That would be useful at least.

Sorry to hear that about your sweatshirt, Moose. Have you tried spraying Shout on it? If you really can't get the stain out, you could always tie dye the sweatshirt! Tie dye is awesome anyways. Just get some Kool-aid or food coloring. Heck, you could even use the same blueberry juice if you wanna make it consistent.

Its on the inside of the right sleeve so you can't really see it. I don't have any Shout and I'm not driving to Meijer to get any right now. The sweatshirt has a big Mickey Mouse on the front- takes up the whole front of the sweatshirt- and his face is white. If I tiedyed it his face would be some other color.

Man do I like this CD!!

Trying to arrange to see a friend later but it all depends when I need to get N3.

Speaking of SARS and Ebola, etc. I noticed on Netflix that the movie "Pandemic" is trending...
Ummmmm Why are you going out to see a friend? Every state is saying stay home unless you HAVE to go out and social distancing...

I'd agree you seem to be on an upswing. Sorry about your sweatshirt. Time to tie dye or ombre?

On a serious note, do you have a strategy to keep this from escalating?

Eta, I just saw your note about tie dying. Funky Mickey face does sound like a bad call.

What is ombre? My coping strategy is usually watching a movie and calling a friend. But there are no friends to call! I always talk with Caleb on the weekdays while he's at work but its Saturday and he's not likely to answer the phone. (Arg! ) Oh and I also like listening to music but I've been doing that all day and its not helping. Its fun though! I'm into fun! Maybe I'll put on Netflix and watch that pandemic movie that's trending right now. Nah. I don't want to be in bed right now and that's where my TV is- my bedroom.

Ah, okay. Glad you can't really see the stain. I don't blame you for not wanting to go out.

Too bad tie dye won't work well with the design. Bummer.

Well, if you don't want to wear it out in public, at least it's good for lounging around with in house. I have some shirts and sweatshirts with stains on them, so I just wear them around my place.

I do use embarrassing stuff, though. Like my mom got me this pokemon blanket when I was 9 and it has all the pokemon on it. It's still in use at my parents' house, but my dad uses it all the time and doesn't give it back. He thinks it's a comfy, warm blanket and says it's "his" now. My aunt and uncle (his brother and sister) took pics of him when he was sleeping in it and posted it on facebook.

You could just tie dye the arms. That'd be cool.

Having sex sounds risky. Personal contact and all that.

That's funny that they posted pix on facebook. My daughter got this really soft squishy warm blanket for Christmas last year and she would always catch me using it! Too bad I can't use it anymore since she moved!

Sorry to hear that your dad usurped your pokemon blanket! Better go over there sometime he isn't wrapped in it and quietly take it to your car and when you leave for home, you can hide it at your place if he's coming over.

That sounds like a nice blanket your daughter had

Sometimes my dad drools and farts in his sleep, so I am kinda concerned about that blanket being "sanitary." He denies drooling, of course, but all his pillows have drool stains. Then the farting... well... sometimes my mom and him have farting contests in their sleep.

Gross, I know.

Hi Everbody

I hope everyone is doing okay and finding ways to stay busy during such a trying time. I am still only watching a bit of news twice a day for the headlines and check CDC website twice daily. I am very concerned about all this.... my heart is breaking for anyone effected by this Virus.

So I have that plastic spongy shelf liner stuff it is crazy that I unloaded cupboards and pulled that stuff out and washed it all ( and all the dishes too). Maybe "too much"

This made me ! He sleeps in his chair with it you mean? Or does he take it to bed with him? You could always take it home and bleach it. (If you have any color-safe bleach that is.) How old are your parents, by the way? I bet they're not much older than I am. My eldest is 22- 23 in October.

Ombre is a coloring technique where you start with a dark shade and then create layers that are lighter and lighter as you go up.

Those seem like good coping skills. Are you open to a med adjustment if you need it? I remember you using prn Haldol in the past.

Coloring: I did something like that in middle school. We had a thick piece of paper that we soaked in water till it was saturated. Then we used thin/light blue paint to paint layer by layer with subsequent layers being darker than the one under it. I seem to remember that each layer had to completely dry before you could lay down another.

I don't know what I can adjust with my meds. I do have a little bit of extra Seroquel and I have like 5 extra bottles of Haldol laying around! As you can tell, I don't use it very often. I just use the little bit in my blister pack every night.

I’ve been ignoring the news except for about 10 minutes a day. And not going on Facebook at all. I’ve been doing a lot better since doing that. My state is on a lockdown until April 7th. I have plenty of food and meds. I’m rationing the toilet paper. I’m not being very productive but I’m trying not to stress. I haven’t changed my clothes all day and I’ve been sitting in front of the TV eating junk food. I’m sure I’m more depressed then I realize.

Sounds like ombre!

Would you be willing to check with your pdoc to see what he/she recommends to nip this in the bud? It seems like you have the right supplies, but maybe they could offer a specific strategy.

I’ve given up on the daily press briefings. I watch Rachel Maddow and check some websites (including my city’s) but otherwise stay away from the news. It’s very sobering.

I’ve been down for two days now. I’ve decided to put structure in my day and to springclean the house. Hopefully that will help.

After days of going out for mom and brother, I said today was the last day. I’m in for awhile. We’ve got enough for a few weeks and can have medication delivered. As much as I’m trying to protect them, I don’t want it either.

Watched a good movie today - The Invisible Man - that’s been on at the theaters when they closed down. Killing time until I start my structured day tomorrow.

I hope everyone stays healthy.

If my pdoc is in the office, she won't be there until Monday morning. I suppose I can wait that long. There is the after-hours/emergency line I can talk with someone, but even if I were sui they probably wouldn't send anybody out, considering... They would talk to me, but I don't think they're allowed to change meds- they just give you coping strategies and decided whether or not you need the psych ER.

I do the same thing, watch Rachel Maddow for real information. The orange one is such a liar and is deliberately spreading misinformation. The two drugs he touted have NOT been proven to work. And rushing a vaccine could backfire. Thankfully tonight PBS old faithful tv series are on. Midsomers, inspector Lynley and a detective show. All reruns of course but still a pleasant way to pass the night.

Yes you have run around enough.. I think Structure is going to be very important for everyone right now. Glad you enjoyed the movie

Nammu and Jennifer 1967, I"m a big fan of Rachel Maddow, too. I also like Chris Hayes before her and Lawrence O'Donnell after, but it's been harder making it to Lawrence. I've been getting sleepy earlier. All three are such real legitimate, down to earth people, who really seem to care. There are other good ones, but the three I mentioned are my favorites.

I think I'm going to try intermittent fasting. I may lose weight and it will save on food.

Chris Hayes is top notch. I haven’t seen as much of Lawrence as I’m usually asleep. I’ll check him out.
