What's your favorite beverage beyond water, coffee, or hot tea?
I enjoy wine. If that's not available I like orange juice.

Do you enjoy different types or tea or coffee? Or different cold drinks?

I don't drink coffee but I do like different teas. I have probably 10 kinds in my cabinet.

Have you ever broken a bone?

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

Maybe this is normal, but do you frequently get so engrossed in tasks that you forget to pee/drink/eat?

Yes, certainly. Though I wouldn't call that exactly the norm, it doesn't always have to be a bad thing unless it truly affects one's life negatively.

Does time usually fly for you or does it more often drag on?

It flies by, hands down. Which could be good or bad, depending on the context.

What was the most surprising food item you tried and enjoyed?

I miss living at my own apartment sometimes but overall it’s pretty good. I pay for the food, transportation and various sundry expenses and mum covers the house.

Do you prefer living on your own or with someone?

On my own, for sure. I've found the old adage of "Friends who become roommates won't be friends anymore." to be VERY accurate.

Have you ever met anyone famous? If not, who would you like to meet?

I’ve met famous and not so famous authors at book signings. Ray Bradbury was probably the most famous. They said not to talk to him! But I did and he was pleased 😃 I ran into the actors from Star Trek at conventions but no conversations just a smile. Walter Konnig had the warmest most sincere smile.

Same question, have you met someone famous if not who do you want to meet?

Okay, I have to answer my own question!

I was involved with a blues concert series. I was friends with the promoter, attended as many shows as I could, even acted as a roadie and/or bouncer when I was needed. My friend chose his acts well as some of them became internationally known. Joe Bonamassa and Joanne Shaw Taylor are two I met on a few occasions.

I'll throw my question back out there:

Sort of meeting, I'll say Steve Carell of the show "The Office". He gave us directions to a cafe. Nice guy. We met him while getting gas at a gas station in New York state. Also Ralph Nadar who gave a talk at my high school alma mater and signed his book for us. Hubby also talked to him on the phone. I have more formally met a handful of Czech celebrities that no one here would likely know. I also met some classical musicians many here likely wouldn't know. For example, Anne-Sophie Mutter. My husband knew Ethan Hawke fairly well. He lived in the same town as a teen and my husband led a youth group that included him. Hubby said that he told him that he shouldn't count on becoming a famous actor, even though Ethan had already starred in a movie and soon after "Dead Poets Society". He's been nominated for four Academy awards and other distinctions since. Boy was Hubby wrong!

I've seen many other celebrities, but not really met them. An extremely big named person took their S.O. to my old psychiatrist's office. That person walked by and looked right at me, probably upset that someone saw them. I can't say who for obvious reasons.

Any predictions you were wrong about?

Not really since I usually don't make any predictions (or try not to) (also my gut feeling re irl stuff is usually quite accurate, Papa bear agrees)

I had a trike and a tractor until I got big enough to ride my older sisters cast off. No training wheels. Just peddling like your life depended on it and falling over, picking oneself up again and keep on trying. I think I was 11 or 12 when my dad helped me transform her old bike into mine. A coat of hot pink spray paint and a black sparkly banana seat and fringes to hang from the handle bars. When I got to college I bought my first new bike, a ten speed.

What was your first pet?

Not of the type that I think you mean. The smallest I took was what they call a "puddle jumper (or hopper) flight". It was a small propeller plane with only two seats on each side. Such planes are used just for very short flights. The one I took was between Philadelphia and Baltimore, cities that are quite close to each other. I remember it was a very windy day so the turbulence was awful. The plane kept "dropping" again and again. The one flight attendant for the plane kept having to put her arms up on the overhead compartments to keep from flying towards the roof. It didn't scare me that much as I had been on flights that had several "drops".

What was the best trip you ever took?

The best trip I ever took was to Ireland. My son was living in Paris, attending university, and I was visiting him. We flew to Ireland together. I felt so happy there, very comfortable and soothed. The land looked like a fairy-world, so quaint and so green. I enjoyed the misty weather very much; it was cool, but not cold. Everyone I met was so friendly and helpful with directions and such. I would love to visit Ireland again some day - actually the UK, too.

Do you like wind chimes?

I prefer the big wooden ones and big brass ones with their deeper tones to the lighter tinkling ones, but yes, I like them.

Do you like flowers 💐 🌺 🌹?

When I was growing up we had a cherry tree, rhubarb plants and apple trees. I've helped harvest and can all of them.

Have you ever pressure canned?

Only once, and a long time ago. I think they were sour cherries in liquor. I tend to only freeze rather than can, mostly because I never had my own personal large garden. The largest amount of anything I would deal with would be summer tomatoes, but only enough for making a batch of sauce, or fall apples, which were cold stored or made into compote that I froze.

What was the most difficult recipe you ever made?

I wouldn’t say it was the most difficult I ever made but at the time it was difficult. I was 19 and had a dinner party for 8. I made two small chickens one with a wild rice and mushroom filling and one with stuffing with fruit. I was completely mortified that the chicken was falling apart although all 4 guys at the party said that was the best chicken they’d ever had. The ladies were quiet on that front! I’d never made a complete meal before much less fillings for chickens

Ever had a dinner party? Did it go well?
