One crown, one filling and one clozapine blood draw. Not the most exciting day but I got a lot done that I'm glad to be done with.

Now I'm going to spend the rest of the evening cuddling with my Abbycat, perfect for this cold, wet weather.

I went out to a Mexican place with N2 and her boyfriend for dinner tonight. I had chicken tacos with onion and a nice crema sauce. We also had baked avocados to share. I cut into mine and mistakenly ate part of the skin. Don't think I'm gonna die though- I feel fine.

Getting up early tomorrow morning so I can wash my hair and have it be dry by the time I have to be at the dentist. I somehow think that having wet hair is a no-no when getting your teeth cleaned. God I hope it I don't have 7 cavities like I did this time last year. I stupidly asked for them to be filled all at once and I couldn't talk eat or drink for like six hours!

I made it to drum circle slightly late. Whilst I was there, I remembered that I had a live zoom call where the guest speaker was Laila Ali (the champion boxer). I got back in time for most of the speech. Fantastic! It’s been a real treat this year listening to these well known speakers and having the various sound healings and what not.

I’m taking tomorrow off. I have housework and projects to catch up on. Friday I’m taking mom to see the new Julia Roberts/George Clooney movie and I have DBT therapy which I missed today due to the heat. Saturday will be the Apple Orchard and the pumpkin patch. Next week will be the trip.

Sometimes ignore is not the route you’d prefer but it is in your best interest. I use it sparingly but unfortunately I do have to use it. Some things can’t be fixed.

I hope everyone has a peaceful evening. Much love.

I hope your visit goes well tomorrow @Moose72 - NO cavities.

N2 gave me a bag of those little round cheeses, each one is wrapped in red wax with a cellophane around it. The other night I peeled the cellophane off and ate the whole circle of cheese with the red wax still on it. I had forgotten to peel the wax off! It was so weird. David was all freaked out. I told him that my friends and I used to eat the wax "fangs" at Halloween and we were okay back then. Nothing happened from eating the cheese wax, so I guess I survived, lol. Avocado skins can be pokey, though. Like, poke your mouth.

Hi @HALLIEBETH87. 32 Celsius is indeed pretty hot. It equals 89.6 Fahrenheit, so is like a hot day in summer. This may seem odd considering that 32 F is the freezing point in Fahrenheit. The freezing point in Celsius is always easy to remember, as it is 0 C. It's also easy to remember the boiling point in Celsius as that is 100 C, while in Fahrenheit the boiling point is 212 F.

I knew a little about the metric system from my childhood in the mid 1970s, as it was taught in my second grade class, and I recall loving those few lessons. But then they stopped teaching it much, because a certain US president nixed the Act that was to spearhead the transfer (see
Metric Conversion Act - Wikipedia [Political junk.] In recent years, I've had to learn it more again. Having a European husband and moving to Europe made it necessary. Frankly, the metric system is far easier to use and more accurate/practical than the US measurement systems, yet the US public still uses the old ones. I think it's a matter of lost chance to change, and a romanticism or allegiance to the olden ways. And again, political stuff (US corporations not wanting to have to change $$$$). The US soda (pop) industry coincidentally uses metric for their large plastic bottle products (liter or 2 liter), but not most of their canned ones (still 12 oz, mostly). It was their flirtation with the change to metric, back in the 1970s. Other producers hadn't made a change. Then the Act was nixed... [I love such history! Sorry if this is uninteresting to anyone.]

How I remember approximate temp feel in Celsius is:

-40 C = -40 F (the temp C & F scales intersect) - Evil nasty freezing day in Siberian winter
0 C - Freezing point (32 F)
10 C - Kinda nippy, need warm jacket (50 F)
20 C - The temp my MIL required for Hubby to go outside without a jacket, when a kid (68 F).
30 C - Hot day in summer (89.6 F)
37 C - Base body temperature (98.6 F)
40 C - Brutally hot summer day (104 F)
100 C - Boiling point (212 F)
175 C - About 350 F, a common cake baking temp
200 C - Temp for making baked salmon (15 to 20 min) or chicken parts (35 to 45 mins)
250 C - Temp for making homemade pizza in regular oven
-273.15 C is the temp assigned to 0 degrees Kelvin (Absolute Zero), which is around -459.67 F

If one asks "What the 'F' about Fahrenheit?" it is a good question. The original creator of this system, physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, in the early 1700s, likely based 0 F on "the freezing temperature of a solution of brine made of water, ice, and ammonium chloride (a salt)". While Celsius freezing point is for water alone. US volume and distance measurements are based on even more quasi ancient systems. For example, the US foot is literally based on the length of the average man's foot size, at the time. Again, all metric measurements follow the 0 to 100 system, making mathematical conversions far easier and 100 grams of water = 100 milliliters of water. 1 kilogram (1000 grams) equals 1 liter of water, etc. 100 cm = 1 meter and 1000 meters equals 1 kilometer. With the US system, you really do need a calculator or a bunch of tools that can be a nuisance, or be a mathematical whiz/savant.

I am so congested and out of breath right now and my nose is running and my cough is bad again. I can't taste or smell again either. Its day 11 of this crap. I just opened my 4th box of kleenex. My 70 year old mom is perfectly fine and recovered. My brother somehow never got it. This sucks.

My cough got so bad I ended up taking some Delsym even though that stuff makes me anxious. I fell back asleep for a bit and now I feel decent I guess.

Checking in at my usual time. Doing well. Having a nice cup of tea (apple cinnamon spice) and am going to get started on a project after that.

I’m going to stick to this timeframe to post and catch up with everyone’s news and then move on and spend the majority of my time in my other world as has been repeatedly requested by my loved ones and therapists. It’s time to listen.

It feels good to have the heat on again. Delightful in fact.

I hope everyone has a peaceful day. Much love.

The building program director (I live in supportive housing for mental health issues) approached me this morning and asked me if I wanted to be the person to decorate all the bulletin boards around the building every month, he said they'd give me supplies every month to do them, so I said yes, that should be fun! I'm excited, I love decorating and art etc I am looking forward to it

Have a nice time snuggling with your kitty I like the name Abbycat

That's great that you got all that taken care of. I have a temporary crown that was just put in last Friday, I'm waiting for them to call me back with an appointment to get the permanent one put in, hate dental work but it's important to get done

La Catrina

La Catrina has become an icon of the Mexican Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. La Catrina is a female skeleton dressed only in a hat, her chapeau en attende ("waiting hat") is related to European styles of the early 20th century.

Real quick check in as I've got to get to work. Mom's cornea transplant is happening! They (mom and dad) are on their way there now. Since the doc is about three hours away, they're gonna stay up there for the first day or so. Get immediate followups out of the way. That leaves me to take care of the pup. He's actually 15, but he's tricked many a passer-by into think he's young. They don't really want me to do much, just make sure he can go in and out during the day and close the doggy door at night. I'll even bring him some dog food that he likes, but the family doesn't really give him!

I remember those bottles and then chewing on the wax after. They used to sell them at the Dollar Store year round for awhile I don't know if they still do.

I won a prize at bingo, was a beanie hat which is cool because I love beanies. And some toiletries. There's going to be yoga classes the next several weeks in the community room. They're an hour long. I plan on going to them. It says all levels are welcome.

I went and got my blood test. The hematrcrit is ok the other results I haven't gotten back yet. My b-i-l and my therapist are making this covid into a huge deal because I can't trace back where I got it from and its so random. So therefore I must have something else going on. All that is doing is getting me worked up. Today I don't feel good. I'm coughing a lot and I'm tired and I have a poor appetite. I didn't sleep well last night since I ran out of my regular melatonin. I'm hoping tonight is better. Mood and anxiety wise I've been ok overall.

It sounds like lots of fun where you live! I wish I had some kind of community events nearby. And you are definitely a great choice to take care of the decorations. Didn't you share some of your drawings in the past? I remember some posted here being very good. Wish I had such artistic talent.

I do remember those wax bottles filled with sugar liquid, though not so much as Halloween offerings in my area. When I was a kid in the 1970s, I think most of the common offerings involved chocolate. Mini Reese's pb cups, Almond Joys, Butterfingers, and things like that. Way back then I had a sensitivity to both chocolate and peanuts, so my mother didn't let me eat a lot of that stuff. My brother happily took some. Luckily I outgrew the sensitivity. It used to give me a rash. I think those wax bottles fit into the same category as the flavored powder in the straws, the sugar dots on the paper, and Pez. They also sold candy cigarettes back then. Pretty bad!

I hope you start to feel better soon, Mountaindewed. When my husband got covid, we also had no clue where he got it. Unfortunately, we had both been interacting with lots of strangers during part of it. I felt kind of bad thinking he may have given it to someone. Hubby had already been coughing when we were out and about. What was odd was that he had had a week or so bout of the coughing and tested negative, a couple weeks prior. Then he had a week of almost no symptoms. Then it came back and he tested positive...and gave it to me.

I kinda think that some people initially mistake their covid for another malady, or have wrong covid test results. Especially home tests. Or, they simply get such a mild case that they don't think they have it, and then spread it to others.

Yes I posted some of my art on here Thank you for the compliment! You're amazing at baking, I wish I was as good at baking

There was a little convenience store down the street from where I lived as a kid, they sold candy cigarretts, this was in the eary 2000's, I was around 8 years old, my friend and I used to buy them all the time, I doubt they're sold anymore though. Thankfully I never became a smoker, my mom was a heavy smoker and drinker but I didn't pick up those things despite it being just her and I for my life up until she died when I was 22, never had a good role model in my life.

I love reese's pb cups, they're one of my favorite candies, almond joys too, pretty much anything chocolate I love

I was wondering if maybe the doctors test was wrong but then the at home test a few days later was positive too. Mine just came on suddenly in a few hours although I had been tired the day before. But I just randomly woke up with it then it suddenly got worse in the afternoon. I had some strange 24 hour cold 2 weeks before but tested negative then. Its just weird.
