I am a junior high teacher and am bp1 rapid cycling. Right now everything in my life feels like it is starting to spriral out of control. It started as a slow spin and now it is starting to feel like things are spinning faster and faster. I know that this is the disease and not the actual fact but omg....i keep waiting to lose the battle.
Maybe the week off for spring break will change things.
Any ideas on keeping the spin to a minimum would be greatly appreciated.

Dear mydarlin,
I know it's difficult to focus on the idea of making a doctor's appointment when your moods are changing dramatically but it's probably the best advice I can offer.
I think that lying in bed and listening to some "spa" music while meditating is helpful I find it helpful when I have problems with anxiety. I hope you can find some comfort it sounds like your life is full of demands on your time. Since I mentioned spas, sometimes a good massage or a facial can help distract you for at least an hour.

Dont fight it -go get help and if you are not on meds may wont to think about looking in to it.. It can take awhile to find which ones work for you. I have a wife and 5 kids lived with my bi-polar pretty well in till my early 30's then it just spun out of control I didn't get help and every year it got worst at one point I lost everything wife , kids , houses , cars , and job after job after years more of hard work I,m slowly getting my life back together. My story is just like alot of people I know . Some where in your late 20' to early 30's it just kicks into high gear . Take the right steps to get a handle on it now .If it doesn't get worst great but if it dose you will be ready.

I agree with them. And if you are on meds a dose change may be good so seeing your pdoc is a good idea.

i see my pdoc this week. He upped my meds last month...haven't got them filled yet, I was waiting to finish the bottle I had. I will get the increased dose filled this week and I will chat with my pdoc about the way I have been feeling. Thanks for listening.

Went to the pdoc today....his suggestions are to get in a support group, try a new therapist more conducive to my hours (help relieve stress of making appointments), and to exercise more. Most importantly give the new med dose a chance to see if it will make things different. Thanks for your support.
