I was too sick to go to the pharmacy and was out of my plaquinil for a couple days. I got it yesterday, but didn't realize how much pain I'd be in by not taking it. Hopefully, it will kick in soon.

My t filled out all the paperwork so I can have Belle as an emotional support animal here at the apartments. It should work. I left her in the bathroom while I ran errands yesterday. I found all this brown fluffy stuff all over the floor when I came home. She chewed a hole in the door. Egads!

Belle chewed two holes in the door and she is a sick puppy today! She is listless and doesn't want to do anything but lay on her blanket. I have gotten her to eat and drink some water. If you don't mind, say a prayer or send healing thoughts to my Belle.

We are home and boy am I glad. 13-14 hours travel time. We got in at 10 pm and of course our bags were the last off the plane. Then we left a place that was in the high 80's with lots of humity to arrive home and it's 40-50 degrees. My body is in shock. I couldn't take my night time meds till we arrived home and we were greeted with some messes that had to be dealt with before anything. I took my meds and put on my pj's at 11:30 pm. But hubby and I were wide awake so it was well after midnight before we fell asleep then it was time for morning meds.

I was lucky to fall back to sleep but hubby got up and started doing yards and things.

Hopefully we will be back on schedule by tomorrow if not by the end of the week. But I hurt like you would not believe

hey yall, new to this thread... been pretty awful here... was in a car accident nearly three months ago, and having some acute back issues in addition to the fibro pain... had a steroid shot in my next a month or so ago, which helped that part, and getting a shot in my lumbar thursday this week, so hoping it will help...

Well, Belle is still sick. She has another common puppy problem, and I went and got medicine for it yesterday. It will take her about two weeks to feel better from the medicine. I don't know how long it will take for her to get over eating the wood. She wants to sleep in my arms all the time and I try to hold her as much as I can. She now has a metal cage to stay in while I'm gone. She can't hurt herself in it. I hate putting her in there, but when I open the door, she runs outside and heads straight for the road.

I feel horrible. The blisters are not completely gone and it hurts to walk. I have an MRI tomorrow and go to the Rhuemie on Wed. Say a little prayer that I can manage everything, if you don't mind and please remember Belle.

Good luck Jan and don't worry about the metal cage or kennel. Our English bull dog sleeps in one each night. We say Sammy go to your room and she runs right into it with a toy and she usually goes right to sleep. I put old blankets or sheets (depending on the time of year) in the kennel. It's good to train her so she knows that when she's in there it's either nap time or quite time.

Let us know how you fare at the rhemys office.

Jan. - Maybe a soft toy and a hot water bottle in the cage might be a good thing even when you are home just so you can have a break. Fingers crossed for you next visit. Like cakeladie said training her is a very good thing

7 ft tall artificial xmas tree... that should say it all... over two days, it is up and has lights and garland. I am in a lot of pain... shot for back is in 36 hrs... really hope it helps.

Well, I didn't make it to the MRI today. My panic was out of control and I just couldn't make it there. Tomorrow I go to the rhuemy. I really like them. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Belle is acting more herself today. I am really thankful for that. I put her in her cage so I could go out and get the mail and she didn't howl - she screamed until I got back to her. I could hear her all the way down the sidewalk! I've been around a lot of dogs, but I've never heard one scream. Do any of you have suggestions on how I can get her to stop?

maybe Belle needs a little red wagon, so you can take her in her cage with you, to see where you go... it takes time to rebuild trust.... also, don't give her a rubber hot water bottle~! she might eat it to ill effect. better to put a pound of dry beans in a sock and tie it shut, maybe even 2 socks, and heat it in the microwave, so she feels comforted. i have also heard that, like babies, the sound of a heart beat can be faked with a clock just outside her cage...

SeeSaw was running a Support Dog chat, she seems to know all the tricks. you might try asking her for some advice.. ?

I apologize for turning this into the "Belle" forum. Thank you for the good tips. A wagon would be a very good thing if I didn't have to hide her right now. I have to keep her in hiding until the one lady comes back into the office. She wasn't there today. I did manage to pay my rent but I couldn't turn in Belle's papers. She screamed and barked the entire time I was gone. I could hear her.

The knee pain, body pain and panic are getting worse. I don't know what to do. I moved my rhuemy appt to tomorrow because I was too exhausted to go today.

I saw the rhuemy today. I told her about Belle and she said to be sure and keep her, that she felt Belle is very good for me. She also said I'm battling three diseases on the arthritis front and that we're doing the best we can with the tools we have. My kidney levels are not the best, so I have to stop the one and only pain med I was using.

She wants me to find a new family Dr. who will give me my meager klonopin and allow me to take my other pain med. I don't know how to find a Dr. who will do that, but I'll keep trying.

I have to go to a heart specialist because my breathing has become so labored when I walk. I don't want to go because there is one heart Dr. here who takes my kind of insurance and while he is a very nice, good Dr., people are crowded into his waiting room like a herd of cattle. There is no place to sit and it's literally an all day affair. I was there once and I don't ever want to go back again.

In a bid to comfort her, I covered Belle's cage today with one of my good towels. When I came home, she had not only taken the towel off the cage, but she had shredded it as well!

i know it can be hard to find the bliss, and the blessings, when pain is constant and hardships are so common~! i am sending all my love and wishes for ease and comfort, whenever possible~!

I accidentally made Belle sick by giving her too much roasted chicken. She's so tiny, I just gave her too much. Now she has diarrhea. I was going to the pharmacy and grocery today but I cannot possibly put her in her cage where she can't get to her potty pads. (Sorry if I was too graphic.) It's very cold outside today so this is a good day for us to cuddle anyway.

I cannot change family Drs to get my pain medicine and klonopin at the same time. You see, my Dr. is part of a complex program that serves people all over the county. My t is part of the same program. In order to see the t, I also have to be seeing one of the family Drs in the program. I'll just have to go without my pain medicine.

Hi all. I told Cake elsewhere I had the week from h e l l at work this week. One client related crisis after another, including having to involve law enforcement and child protective services! Weather has been changing, which caused a flare. Have come home at night and crashed. Never even turned the computer on. Am doing as little as possible this weekend to try and rest and recoup.

Jan, have you tried melatonin tablets for Belle when you crate her? You can get them at the pet store. They are relatively inexpensive. I think I pay $8 or 9 for 65 tablets. They are tasty and chewable. I give them to BG when it storms. Maybe you could give some to Belle when you have to crate her? Other than that, I'd suggest a book on clicker training from the library.

i've heard that dramamine is good too, if you're gonna be gone a while, it makes dogs sedated, and is harmless,, check it out with online vet~

Just wondering if a crate brings back memories from her previous owner? Maybe another type of pen might be better for her or even call a pet store or the vet and ask if they have any other suggestions?

My lower back is bothering me again... the part where the shots were supposed to help... don't know if I am doing too much, or what... the mother is being demanding about getting stuff done like cleaning and such. She doesn't understand or even wanna hear how much pain I am in at all.

Jan if your dog is a registered emotional support dog you should not have to leave it home. It should be able to go everywhere with you.

I know this because I was shocked at the people in the airport with dogs out on leases and was told they are emotional support dogs. My daughters jerk of a boyfriend paid $300 and sent away for his dog to have the paperwork and like a sweater that said emotional support dog.

On another note we adopted a cat from the animal shealtered years ago. His owners said he just got to big. He was an awsome cat an dinused to have him on my signature line but he is still on my page anyway we went away and put him and sunny our other cat in the pets hotel. Usually we let them stay home and someone comes in and feeds them and takes care of them. This year we had to put them in the hotel because we were getting our floors done. He shared a really big cage with sunny and we left their blankets and toys but when we got home he was a different cat it was like being locked up brought up really bad memories. Just my thoughts on it. She will learn that the kennel is not a bad place. Our dog goes right in to hers when we say it's night night time or Sammy go to your room. It has a nice blanket and toys
