I agree with Divine 1966! Is there something yawl can do to try to back off some of the stress somehow? I am not trying to minimize your situations or make light of them. I cannot imagine what your situation must feel like, but doing something to take your minds off of your stress can recharge your brain and batteries.

What can you think of? Do you craft or cook or something?

Thanks for the suggestions. We did go out for live music last night which was a nice distraction and break. But then we discovered a hornets nest outside our kitchen window today and they’re coming inside our kitchen!! Our landlord is out of town so an exterminator cannot come until tomorrow. I have an interview tomorrow. My husband is moaning right now in physical pain. Not a good day for low stress.

Dont Give up!!! Please DONT GIVE UP!! I was in a similar situation a few months ago and I had a mental breakdown. I was hospitalized I didnt have anywhere to go and as I couldnt pay my hospital bills any more and had been there for over 6 months they had to let me go, I hit rock bottom. I thought it was over for me too but im here to tell you when you are at such a hopeless place this is where things can drastically change and it can be the most unexpected thing. What pulled me out that dark place was an audiobook by David R Hawkins (Letting Go: The Pathway Of Surrender), I firmly believe this book is a gift from God for anyone who has lost hope. I know its hard but just allow yourself 1 day to just listen to this powerful book. You can get it for free on audible just give it a listen

I hope this helps you like it helped me

I feel you. My wife had a meltdown last night. She said she didn't want to go to therapy together anymore. I hope she is just venting. We have an appointment today.
My boss cut my hours, too, so we will have less income.
You are not alone. With all the stresses of life around us that alot of people are going through we must be strong. Only the strong will survive right now! You got this! One step at a time!!

@happysobercrafter, thanks for asking.

The good news is it went well, so I have a third interview today with the same company.

This is the one silver lining right now, and I pray that I get this job offer.

Excellent!! You sound calmer. May I ask what field you work in? I will respect your choice if you prefer not to answer my question. Best Wishes!!!

@happysobercrafter thanks so much!!!

I work in digital marketing and have for twelve years. It's a very comparable role to the one I had last, but was laid off.

Fingers R crossed!!!!!!

On a more sober note, I fear that my marriage is ending. And I have to do well in this interview today. It is SO hard to compartmentalize my marital problems while trying to focus on interview prep.

This truly is a nightmare for me. Everything going on. I am losing my grip. If I manage to get past this interview, it will be a miracle.

I am sorry to hear this about your marriage. I wish there was something I could do to help out. Aren't you in therapy? Can you talk to your therapist for a pep talk or reassurance?

I am in individual therapy and am talking to my therapist after my interview today. I do need help, yes. And thank you for wishing you could help. There's not much anyone can do about the trust issues I face, and the former abuse from my husband. I'm afraid only a couples therapist can help us sort this out, or my own therapist. I'm worried that it's over between us, and I don't know if I can face that right now.

Thanks @guy1111!

I got through the third interview - now I am waiting to hear back from them. They asked for some materials showing my work, which I sent. I am waiting with bated breath, uncertain of the outcome.

I'm having massive anxiety. I've had to have two therapy appointments last week, and two this week. I have not heard back from this potential employer and it's sending my anxiety through the roof. I also have not been able to land/secure a couples therapist, which is also making me very anxious. $%#^#*^$*

The interview process where I work takes a loooooooong time. It isn't an indicator of good or bad news. Sometimes they are running background checks, sometimes they are just dragging their feet. A 3rd interview alone is very good news. Worst case you are their runner up if their 1st pick falls through. Alot of times people interview as leverage for a raise in their current job and back out when they get their raise. Then you have to wait while this whole process happens. You just never know.

Sorry about the couples therapy deal. I hope you find one soon!

I feel very ungrounded and destabilized. I don't feel centered at all. I am literally just trying to hold it together and not lose my s*it again.

No word from that employer on anything since I sent them my work to review. Nothing in one full day, and so far, they've followed up almost immediately with me.

I am feeling very pessimistic and despondent. I don't think I am getting a job offer.

I am trying to coach myself to think more positively - like, well, another even better opportunity will come along, maybe this one wasn't truly meant for me, and when one door closes, another opens...... kinds of things. It's not really working, and I am still really down.

I am also trying to be compassionate with myself. During the interview process, I was going through a lot of crap with my husband on the personal front. I may not have interviewed the best, and I may not have been at my best. Actually, I know I wasn't at my best at all. I was trying to put on a big front when inside I'm falling apart. Talk about challenging - when you're trying to interview while your personal life is a complete mess!

ARGH.

Another thing I try to do when I am feeling doom and gloom is to listen to some stand-up comedy. It helps me to take a step back and not take myself so seriously.

I go on pandora music and search for a comedy genre that I like, ie. dark comedy or a name like Sarah Silverman. They will have a playlist of clips of comedians and it will play as long as you like.

You could even listen on headphones while you are jogging.
Thanks for this!

@guy1111, thank you for the suggestion. What works for me is to listen to my most uplifting and favorite songs. So maybe today I will do just that -- maybe I'll even take a walk later to get outside. It's going to be warm today - unseasonably warm - I should get out for at least a little while.

Thanks!!
