I want to say something vital to the treatment of depression and anxiety..
healthy eating and healthy exercise are at the top of the list...
for BRAIN HEALTH that is something that can be done now..it is the hardest thing to do when you are depressed...

Thank you...so aware of this, but when depressed, I seem to be able to get only half the equation. This is a great reminder, at least for me, to start eating healthier.

Those are definitely cornerstones of a mentally healthy lifestyle. But I have a question: What if you can't pull yourself out of a dark place at the moment?
I know that you're not fond of medication as a "nudge into the right direction", so what would you recommend for that? Good behavioural therapy?

grath-----good thinking...when I was in a dark place I couldn't possibly think about natural...I wanted a drug...so we are on a drug...I am on a drug now...
so you do what you can do when you can do it....but most people cant stick to healthy eating and exercise...it is too hard...but that does not mean that it is not vital for brain health...

good behavioral therapy---sure if it works for you..

Healthy eating has been a prob for me recently coz of my anti-psychotic most probably. I take risperidone LS half tablet every night plus clonazepam 0.5mg. I keep on eating too much nowadays...just can't stop

yes...important...maybe the most important...I am looking at my relationships
with others...

I think first---how do I want to be treated...
then ---that is how I will treat others..
I hope I can improve my connections with my wife and friends

I just had a major disruption in my relationship with my wife...I am very hurt...but I did not attack back...I am very proud of myself...I did not attack back...I am hurt...I am feeling awful...I am feeling terrible...but I did right for me by not attacking back...I was very angry...I just said I do not want to talk anymore about the problem we were talking about...usually I would just get more angry and be more depressed about the way I had acted..

so treating depression naturally for me is having healthy relationships...and marriage is my biggest problem....my biggest problem...

I’m sorry your wife hurt you . I’m proud of you too for not attacking back. I find it hard not to attack back if someone is very mean to me . (When I was younger I rarely said anything at all ) But it rarely “helps” anything.
